We love any chance we get to shop here, since we live in FL. However during Covid it's not nearly as enjoyable. The selection was still great, the quality superb, but the mask makes me just want to get in and get out as.soon.as.possible! We bought NY strip steaks which seemed appropriate given were vacationing in NY. They were excellent cooked on the grill. We also found great items for our charcuterie board on the lake--olives, stuffed grape leaves, a variety of specialty cheeses, many GF options and whoops--no wine! Disappointed me. I've heard rave reviews of the Wegman's in Montvale NJ and was looking forward to lots of gourmet offerings. I was pleased with the wide variety of high-end cheeses and appreciated the way they arrange them: blue cheeses, Italian cheeses, Spanish cheeses, local cheeses in separate showcases; made it easy to find what you're looking for. But, I wasn't wowed the way I remember being every time I shopped in Fairway Supermarkets before they went out of business. I see the Canandaigua Wegman's is higher rated. I moved from the west coast last summer and this Wegmans is my go to grocery store. The store is always clean and well staffed. This location is a bit smaller than some Wegmans but it is serviceable and has everything we need. The already made pizza and subs are great. The bakery is outstanding- the crumb cake is a favorite. My husband loves the organic rosemary bread. The floral department is very good. I'm a big fan of the sliders in the meat department. I love the grab and go deli case as well as pre prepared and cut fruit. I find the pricing to be right in line with what I would expect for higher end grocery. I am a frequent shopper at the Wegmans Cherry Hill, NJ location. I was glad to find this store during our vacation in the Finger Lakes. This location seems to be older (~20+ years?) but remolded. The building/inventory is much smaller than Cherry Hill. Upon entering the lobby of the store, I noticed a large, reverse vending machine for recycling glass/plastic that returns money to the customer, very cool. They have a decent beer selection. The pet products aisle seems to be large. The store was very clean. The staff was friendly. I plan on returning here the next time I am in town. read more

Holy cow! I wish they were Wegmans in every town in America. This place is the gold standard of all grocery stores. You walk in and it looks like your typical grocery store walking into the produce section. And then you start to look at the prepackaged foods and realize that this store has a lot more to offer than your standard potato salad and chicken wings. Heck I've gone to sushi restaurants that have had carry out cases smaller than Wegmans sushi selection. We were going to her in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner and I needed to stop and buy something for the meal. I stopped at the Olive bar and made a selection of several different olives and grape leaves. I really wasn't sure how a olive bar version of a grape leaf would taste but everybody really enjoyed them and we were just about arm wrestling at the dinner table to get the last grape leave. Another thing I really appreciate as the suggestion of the fish department. I didn't like the large piece of fish that they had so I wanted to buy five or six of the small individual portions of fish. The guy that was working behind the counter said it would be cheaper if I bought the large piece of it and he had more in the back that he could show me. he brought them out and I found the perfect piece of fish for dinner for 13 people. If you are gluten-free or dairy free or even vegan this is the place to go. Their selection is larger than any other grocery store that I have been to including whole foods. read more

We get our weekly groceries here. Their price may be slightly higher but you get what you pay for. The selection is excellent. The only problem I have ever had is with the cashiers. They need to be taught how to bag groceries properly. Heavy items do not go on top of light items. Cold items do not go in with dry goods. I can't tell you how many loafs of bread they have squished. I once went to the self checkout and was yelled at because I had just over 20 items. There were no other customers there so I don't see what the problem was. Other than the cashiers this is a great place to shop. read more

Ugh no one to check you out and the seating eating area was nearly full. We had to wait in line at the sub shop to pay. And to top it off when we left a woman opening the Check out in the seating area Asked if she could give us a to go container for our pizza in the large box! Unbelievable! I have to say that even though Wegmans prices are high...it is still a finely tuned business. In Geneva over 75% of the school kids are below the poverty line. Still this grocer manages to carry supplies for everyone from the poorest to the least poor. In every single department there are enough choices to fit the tastes and pocketbook of anyone in America. I personally wait for those red stickers that say "Reduced for Quick Sale". That way I can get meat as reasonable prices and put it in my freezer for a later date. With the foodie generation in full swing it must be satisfying to know that Wegmans carries your mom's Crisco shortening along with ghee, EVOlive Oil, duck fat, grapeseed oil, sunflower oil, and beef tallow. That is just part of their fats section. In the beer dept I see everything from basic lagers like Miller clear up to handcrafted Belgian Ales from Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY. The family packs of meats and vegetables means lower prices if you know how to cook, pack and freeze. Gluten intolerant? No problem. Diabetic? No problem. Like high quality bread and like to bake your own at the same time? No problem. Wegman's has nearly everything (no fresh duck, no fresh bratwurst, no smoked pork belly....) and in enough variations to fit any dietary or financial constraints. I have used Wegmans weekly for over 25 years and have never left empty handed. read more

Cheaper than the TOPS across the street with better every day prices and sales. The staff is also more friendly. My favorites from here are their rotisserie chicken, prepared foods and deli. The chicken is only $4.99 for a WHOLE chicken and it normally sells out before the end of the night. It's by far my favorite rotisserie from any grocery or restaurant because it's always flavorful and juicy! Probably because they brine their chicken before cooking :D Prepared foods are sold by pound or as a combo for $8-$10 depending on what you get. Combo includes an entree and two sides. I got the baked tilapia with mac and cheese and grilled veggies (mushrooms, zucchini, red peppers, carrots) for $8! All I had to do was heat it up and it was delicious. read more

Wegman's has been at the top of my list for grocery stores since I was born (they are an Upstate NY institution) & I only get happier as I find they are continuing to grow in the NE & Mid-Atlantic States (NY, NJ, PA, MD, VA). That said... THEIR SANDWICHES ARE THE GREATEST!!!!!!!! There is something in the bread (it's an East coast thing -only better) the freshness of the meats is perfect. Try the Danny, a triple meat play (Genoa salami, capicola, & a spiced ham...) Italian sub. 14" for under $8. I am so glad I have family just a mile up the road. This is by far the worst Wegmans ever. This store caters to the residents of Geneva and the selection shows. Have you ever been to Wegmans in Pittsford? Well this is the complete opposite of that store. From the incompetent deli workers to the meat selection, everything is dumbed down for this make believe Wegmans. Most all the meat is shrink wrapped to extend shelf life, all the fish is either previously frozen or farm raised, and the organic meat is from Uruguay..? Why? I'll tell you why, because its Geneva. I'll take my money and shop at Tops. Sure, its not Wegmans Pittsford but its not Wegmans Geneva either. read more

Pros: Great selection of locally grown produce AND a huge organic section. Important if you're into that sort of thing. Or even if you are not... it's still important :) Wegmans subs put other sub shops to shame. All of them. Coffee shop- black forest mocha... delicious. Friendly employees. (Most of them.) Did you know that Wegmans was rated higher than Google on Forbes list of "Top Ten Companies to Work For"? Just saying... This is so much more than just a grocery store. The meal choices over by the deli are almost 5 star restaurant quality. Cons: The only one I can think of is more of a question. What is the Wegmans member card good for? They don't really have a lot of special "member only" discount/savings. read more

This is a perfectly good grocery store. It's smaller than most Wegmans locations, and as such tends to have less selection, but compared to any other grocery store it's still on the larger side, and it's a much nicer grocery store than one would expect for a town the size of Geneva. The good: beer selection (in terms of variety, doesn't seem _that_ much different than other Wegmans), most anything else you'd expect from Wegmans. The bad: much smaller cheese selection (cue tiny violin), smaller "international" selection, smaller hot bar/salad bar/cafe selections. The ugly: occasionally hit issues with produce because of lower turnover for less popular selections, and yes, checkout can take a long time. However, 79.8% of checkout issues are customer originated. The tricks to a speed[ier] checkout include: shop after Matlock reruns have started, keep an eye out for checkbooks and do *not* get in line behind anyone who might be carrying a checkbook, and take control of the card device for any customer ahead of you. And they say people in the south are slow! read more

My sister and I were on vacation from Mass and staying nearby and this Wegmans was perfect! Located close to our hotel and open till midnight! Great selections and prices. Tons of hot food and desert options. We stopped in one night around 7:45 and ordered a bacon and caramelized onion pizza. We didn't realize at the time that the hot food service closed at 8! The employee never mentioned it or seemed upset that we ordered it so late. The girl was very friendly and helpful and told us it would be about 15 minutes. We went and shopped around while we waited and returned a little early. The employee then printed up our slip and told us we could go pay for it so that we could just grab our pizza and leave once it was done. She was very kind and helpful and we appreciated it! I am familiar with Wegmans from Mass and they are great stores and I am happy that we had such a positive experience here in New York! read more

Wegmans, how do I love thee? I ain't skimpin' on the compliments: 1. They're consistently ranked as one of the best companies to work for by FORTUNE magazine. First and foremost, I prefer to support business that go above and beyond to treat their employees well. 2. They're a family-owned regional chain. Yeah, the Wegman family is rolling in it, for sure, but they seem to have kept business integrity intact. 3. They were playing the Whole Foods/Wild Oats game before Whole Foods existed. What I mean to say is that they have always (or, at least, as long as I can remember) placed a strong emphasis on selling fresh, local, and organic foods. The store setup in any branch is all about aesthetics--awesome displays and none of that icky fluorescent light blinding you as you reach for a cucumber or a box of cereal. 4. Their bigger stores in Canandaigua and Rochester have in-house sushi bars. GOOD ones. REAL ones. RAD ones. 5. Pizza and sandwiches = awesome. Deli = really awesome. Organic section = really really awesome. And they sell Dinosaur BBQ sauce in copious varieties and quantities. 'Nuff said. 6. It has one of the best beer selections you'll find in a grocery store. Fine microbrews abound. I haven't lived near a Wegmans for seven years, and I still consider it a necessary pilgrimage whenever I visit the area. From an outsiders' perspective, it might not seem like any big deal, but the thing is that Wegmans was on top of the game decades before other major grocery stores revamped their styles. Is it weird that a city's grocery store is also at the cutting edge of culture? Not when said city's prominent social event is a trout fishing derby. Think about it. read more

A great grocery! Before I came to Western New York for school I was pretty unfamiliar with the Wegman's chain of stores. Now, Wegman's is one of the reasons I look forward to coming back to school! For the Geneva area, it is certainly the best place to go grocery shopping. My girlfriend is very fond of the sushi (I'm more of a fan of the subs myself!). Although I wish they had a better selection of organic products, I realize that the demand for said products simply doesn't exist in the Geneva area. read more

People all over the country talk about this unique little grocery store, and have a story about going there or hearing people rave about it. The Geneva store is good, but not up to the speed of its neighboring locations. Go for your basics and quick shopping needs. But you'd have more fun and options going to Canandaigua. read more

Ordered a breakfast pizza today and no egg was on the pizza. We normally order our breakfast pizza from a different place, but decided to give Wegmans a try. When we called and inquired about why there was no egg on the pizza we were told " we use a liquid egg base, not the scrambled egg topping. We stopped using the scrambled eggs about 2 years ago." Well wegmans, we could not even taste or see "liquid egg" on our pizza and will probably not order again. It was cheese and bacon only. Please consider going back to the original breakfast pizza with the scrambled eggs as this is the traditional way to make a breakfast pizza. Normally I am not disappointed with Wegman's, but this was truly not acceptable, Especially when you are charging $20 for a large pizza, where everywhere else is roughly $15 or less. read more
