Alterations on two long dresses for my son's wedding. She inquired exactly what I was looking in…read morethe alterations. She listened and gave me some suggestions. I have Multiple Sclerosis so safety was a major concern. We discussed the length that I would feel comfortable walking and dancing. The material was a very delicate lace. The second dress for the same occasion but the material was a silky texture. She suggested a change for the front portion of the collar. Her input was appreciated. I had lost weight and with the suggestion she made was something I would never thought was possible. I went to pickup the dresses. I was nervous, not sure that it would fit well. I was extremely excited when I tried on the first lace dress. She adjusted the zipper that I had trouble closing. It closed without any problem. The length of the dress was perfection. She is a true professional. The second silky dress was unbelievable. The front collar was very subtle and classic, exactly my style of dressing. Irene made me and my husband very comfortable. Her business is extremely busy nevertheless Irene made me feel like a priority. Here staff is efficient and everyone is greeted immediately and helped with their specific needs. I was referred to her from the salesperson who assisted me with my purchase of my dress. I thanked Irene and sincerely stressed that I would be sharing my experience of her professionalism and attentiveness to all my friends. Thank you Irene for giving me a wonderful experience. You have an outstanding business and I will send you a photo of your finished product.

E.g. I paid $8 for a hem, she charges $16 for the same brand of jeans but in a different color. Fixing the back of a blazer costs $20 and Irene charges $45. I used to bring my clothing here bc I lived nearby and suspected I was paying more. I now go to a tailor in Short Hills and paying less for the same quality of work.

After visiting a couple shops nearby I looked up local tailors via the ol' Yelp app and Cranford Custom Tailors showed up a couple blocks away. I visited them and expected them to make me wait a while or even days to get the bag fixed. However, the staff was super friendly and kind, taking my bag and fixing it in minutes! They only charged a few bucks and I was on my way in under 10 minutes. The shop itself is not huge, but it has rooms for you to try your clothes on and there were tons of suits and clothes hanging around waiting for pick up, so clearly this business is well regarded. This makes me feel very good about coming back for my future tailoring needs.

They said that it was ready, but I never got a call. Upon picking up the dress they charged $100 for the alterations. The dress is not too intricate, and I thought the price was a little steep. Staff was all very friendly and it is conveniently located in the center of town.

Why is no one ever at the register to greet customers? In 47 years of getting my clothing cleaned,…read moreI have never seen a more empty store front. Is there a single business out there that leaves their registers completely unmanned? The owner seems inattentive, unfocused, and bothered by customers being there. She seems to be focused on chatting away with the people behind the store front. Everyone who is at the registers tries to get you to leave quickly, but they take forever to even come to the front, if they even realize you are there at all. There are obviously more people in the back, because when there is a line, more people appear. Why do they wait for the store to be packed full to appear? Why are there two or three of us waiting for one person at the register, when there are clearly more people in the back, just chatting away? Why is it that not a single person employed at this store (with one exception) seems to know where anything is? Every time, whether it is my order or someone next to me, they have to check the camera for something. Is nobody keeping track of anything? The only good person there is the older tall gentleman with graying hair that shows up occasionally to the register. He seems to know where everything is and will always smile. Hopefully he is the owner's husband, because he seems to be the only one that can do anything.
