5 stars for Topgolf in Schaumburg! This was my first time here, or at any Topgolf location for that matter. I had a great time here, you don't need to be Tiger Woods to have fun at Topgolf - all skill level players are welcome. You can pick multiple golfing games on screens in your section - you can do ones that only count if you hit the holes, ones that count your distance, ones that incorporate fun app games like Angry Birds and Sonic and more. Our server was very friendly/attentive at our section while golfing, she checked up on us a lot if we needed help or if we wanted to order anything. I didn't bother ordering food or drinks as it's all extremely expensive (eat/drink before you go). If you like mini golf, but regular golf isn't your thing, I think Topgolf is somewhere in the middle where you can have a great time at. Definitely check it out at least once, the earlier you go in the day, the less crowded it will be - especially early mornings.

The pre-check in process was smooth. The bay was clean and well stocked with all the golf clubs. Our server, Mike B, even checked if we needed left handed clubs. He was attentive to our table for our beverage orders without hovering, which was appreciated. We did not order any food items this visit, but have enjoyed the food we have eaten previously. It was a fun evening to spend with the family, no matter the golfing level.

We checked in before 7:30 and were initially placed on the first floor. We immediately asked if it was possible to move to a higher floor, and were directed to a manager--who denied the request without even checking availability. That already set the tone for the experience. Things didn't improve from there. Our waiter brought a drink to the wrong person in our party and didn't card them. We had to step in and clarify that they were not the same person. It was honestly a bit uncomfortable and came across as careless and unprofessional. On top of that, we specifically asked to split the bill between drinks and the game for each person--something that's advertised as easy to do for groups. Instead, it was handled poorly. Everyone ended up being charged separately for their drinks and then again for the game portion, making it confusing and frustrating to sort out. This is only my second time at this location, and unfortunately it feels like they dropped the ball again without making any effort to fix it. Definitely disappointing.

Took a small group here yesterday and had an absolute blast the food was amazing and our server was completely on point friendly attentive and made the whole experience even better This is one of my go to spots to unwind and blow off some steam and it never disappoints I have even hosted birthday parties here and they always go above and beyond to make everything feel top notch Already looking forward to coming back soon honestly stop reading this and just go

I bought the Top Golf Summer Pass this year and I am so excited to be a regular here this Summer! Top Golf is a fun and exciting activity to do with my friends and family. I can chat, work on my swing, and enjoy food and beverages from their many menu options. The hosts are always friendly and attentive to our needs, checking in on us regularly. I can't wait for a fun filled summer at Top Golf!

We went here as a large event put on by they did not know about my allergies before we got there and when I asked the manager ran down to the kitchen multiple times to ask if there were things I could eat on the buffet that was given to us and when they could not find something that was not going to react they provided me with a meal off the menu for free. The food was absolutely wonderful and one of the best hamburgers I think I've ever had. The atmosphere is nice and there's coach Bob who will come around and help anyone at everyone learn how to play golf. I was shocked that I actually did well after the first few and it was quick to pick up. I really love the Angry Birds game which made it much more fun rather than just hitting the ball to hit it. The wait staff were absolutely wonderful at their jobs and always made sure that we had what we needed.

Bob was really great! Amazing customer service and food was good. My main critique is that the burgers could have had more sauce.

We love it here. My son (who is 3) begs to come here because he has so much fun playing golf. We (the adults) love sitting back and enjoying the snacks. It's a win for everyone. We both have the membership and it has been an amazing value, allowing us to visit and snack monthly. Definitely check this one out!

I had a lot of fun hitting golf balls and their food. Went here for a birthday party with a big group and we had a tasty charcuterie party platter, guac and cheese dip with chips and salsa. The buffalo chicken dip would have to be my favorite, it comes in a cast iron so it stays warm for a while. So good. They have plenty of floors and games to play other than golf so it makes it an inclusive entertainment place for everyone. They also have an outdoor roof with fireplaces to stay warm in the evenings. Service was great, we had one of the waiters grab our drinks.

Alana S.

The service was great, a waiter/waitress came by every so often to see if we wanted anything. There is no call button or anything, so you do have to rely on them walking by or coming up to the table. The food was mid, nothing to really write home about. The donuts were the best thing of the night with the warm raspberry jam. The worst thing was the buffalo chicken potato skins. It just had an off putting texture, we just weren't fans. The games were fun! I for sure cannot golf, so it's nice that some of the games are friendly for even the beginner golfer. We'd probably come back, maybe with a bigger crowd, it seems more fun. Great alternative to bowling!

How are the heaters working this time of year?

We were there last week during the recent snow storm and it felt comfortable under the heaters while it was about 25-30° outside.

It's going to be 25 degrees tonight. Do the heaters really work that well when it's that cold?

Yes, they do. We had an event here end of last year and it was cold outside. I was amazed we were warm the entire time in our bay.

How much time should we plan for a round (5 people)? The bays rent per hour, so is one hour enough?

This really depends on your group and what you decide to play. Like bowling, it's all at your own pace, and some of your group might be super competitive and know what they're doing, while others might need to be dragged off their seat.…

Do you need to wear golf shoes?

Nope. While you might want to wear something practical, you do not need special shoes.

How long is the walk in wait on the weekend in the winter?

Anywhere from 30-90 minutes...The earlier the better.

Are there heated bays?

Oh yes! Still wear a winter coat and gloves, but yes, they have those patio heaters

Do you need to reserve a bay if you come midday? Can the walk in wait get bad?

In the summers, reservations are highly recommended just because you really never know what the walk in business will look like. The walk in wait can get up to 4 hours.

Brunette bartender with a lovely accent was so sweet and attentive and funny! Walked over a couple nights later, and it was drastically different. Lastly, she was so rude and pushy about taking my plate when I still had food on it. The third or fourth time she asked me if I was "done with my food" I just said yeah take it. We ordered non-Irish food, but it is a bar, so expect bar food. We ordered Chicken Wings with BBQ Sauce and Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Both came with fries and the portions were quite massive! The flavors were not exciting or different, but was delicious. The wings were lightly fried and the BBQ sauce wasn't too punchy. It was very mild. The home made cole slaw was great. It had a cruncy texture and was delicious. The hot chicken sandwich had the necessary spice for Nashville Hot Flavor. Also delicious. They have a vast selection of drinks and the bar is quite large. You walk in, and you're walking in an old Irish bar, wood and reminders of Guiness wherever you go! I really enjoyed our experience and the food. I didn't see too many Irish dishes, but the menu was quite large. The service was great and the food was delicious. I'm glad I finally went in to Finn McCool's.

Even though that is gone this place remains and has a modern atmosphere. The drinks are better than the food truthfully. A pretty strange location in this suburb away from anything. It's across from the former Arlington Park racetrack which is gone and has nothing on the property. This used to be a hangout before and after events there. At least they have seemed to class it up a bit. The bad thing is higher prices. It's about $15 for a specialty cocktail. The best we had of these was the Cucumber Spritz. This is made with lemonade, soda, and Stoli Cucumber vodka. As for the food it's mostly meaty. It's about $12 for the Pretzel Twist. A big one and it usually comes with cheese. The rest of the menu is meaty. For sure it's great for watching a game. It's located on Northwest Highway. This is also across from the Metra station.

There were seven of us and we all converged from Buffalo Grove and Vernon Hills. Jimmy D's doesn't come up on your normal burger place lists in and around the area, but we saw a post somewhere and knew we had to check this place out, especially if it ended up being across from the future home of the Chicago Bears. We'd probably end up hanging out there and wanted to make sure it was a good enough place to hang and be a part of the action, whilst not paying for said action. Anyhoo, we all pulled up to find a nice parking lot next to/behind the restaurant. It's a cool place with a couple entrances (one in the lot and the other from the street). It's a nicely adorned building and has the requisite sports decor on the inside with plenty of televisions to watch many games at once. There was plenty of seating for our group as it was quite empty on a Monday night and there wasn't any game of note when we were there. We called ahead letting them know our numbers and they accommodated us with a reserved table. They were attentive and constantly refilled out waters and sodas and brought more beer when needed/requested. The service was friendly and attentive. We were there for the burgers of which there are four options: the House burger, the Fried Egg Burger, the Mac Daddy, and a Black Bean burger. However, stipulations for being in our club is that you can only order a red meat-based burger. We did order the buffalo sauced wings as an appetizer to share. They were sauced nicely, not too hot, and quite good. I would definitely recommend getting them if you visit. I also ordered the cream of chicken soup. It was a perfect option for the cold night and I rank it among one of the better cream of chicken soup options in the suburbs. While not a sommelier of cream of chicken soup, I do rank it quite well: I think it matches Jameson's Char House for quality, thickness, and flavor. Mama clearly knows what she's doing with her soup. I opted for the Mac Daddy burger. It's prepared with: black angus beef, boom boom sauce, house mac n' cheese, bacon, fried onions, sliced jalapeños, toasted brioche. I normally don't opt for the special/signature house sauces as I've been burned before by these so-called "recommended" house sauces (I'm looking at you, Lucky Burger, with your terrible "dijonnaise" sauce - ugh, don't get me started on THAT sauce). However, I was told it's a hot sauce for the burger and figured it wouldn't overpower everything else on the burger. The mac n' cheese was a tad creamy, but so what, the bacon, fried onions, jalapenos, and boom boom sauce cut into the creaminess a bit and it worked. And it didn't overpower the flavor of the burger, which I thought it would, but somehow didn't. I really liked this burger, the bun held up, the bacon stayed crispy, and jalapenos and sauce added a nice kick but not overwhelmingly so. I would get this again. The sandwiches come with housemade fries or tots, but I know that if tots are offered, you can (generally) never go wrong with tots (I'd point out Puck's Pub but they closed and did the world a favor in doing so). Everyone generally liked their burgers and would return again. In our 5 point scale, Jimmy D's District got a 4.25. They have a nice brunch menu and drinks to match and I want to try them out someday. Let me know if you're going and I'll meet ya there if available.

If you read my Yelp on the original location, you'll learn I was quite impressed with the unique qualities of the bread and circuses therein. THIS store, however, is not a funky old Chitown corner tavern, repurposed into a brilliant resto as the original is. It has the appearance and feel of a corporate outpost with NONE of the intrinsic vibe and atmosphere of the paternal iteration. It's a big room, with an enclosed "patio" with even less charm. One of the great things about the original is the non-exclusive yet cordial service, hinting at rough trade, yet somehow I believe this is a manufactured behavior, for fun. Kind of like if Ed Debevic was a hardcore outlaw biker. (IYKYK). The servers here were kind of cheerless, and aloof. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was yum. A Caesar was next, and that too, was pretty tasty. So I started to think, "Ok this isn't the original Kuma's, but the Schaumburg audience is going to be a bit different than the Northside Hipsters". When you're aware of circumstances, attitudes change. Wife played it safe, eschewing all the ooga-booga burgers of the menu and just going for a regular burger, ketchup, mayo, tomato, onions, no cheese please. Cooked medium. I, however, remembered seeing someone on TeeVee having a "Plague Bringer" supposedly redolent of Garlic and fiercely chilli'ed. Right up my alley! I bid the Waitron to bring it with all speed. The burgers appeared shortly. Wife noticed the tomato on her plate had an unsavory black & grey area in its innards. obviously rotten. How the expediter ever let that get out of the Kitchen, I dont know. It was sent back an returned with an excuse it was a bit of olive that got mixed up with the tomato. I immediately checked the menu to see if they OFFERED anything, anywhere with black olives, and there wasn't anything there. I asked the same of the Waitron, and got the same answer. As wife didn't put the tomato on her burger, it was shuffled to the side. Wife said the burger was nothing special, And neither was my "PlagueBringer". Most of it was buried in Tortilla Strips. Not appetizing at all. The expected Garlic onslaught was nowhere to be found, neither was the anticipated chilli pepper sting. All I could taste were the french fried onions (the same ones you find on greenie beanie casseroles during your Grandmother's Thanksgiving dinner) heaped under the top pretzel bun hood. A segregated bite found the burger patties un-seasoned and not terribly tasty (both mine and Wife's burger). What a bummer. They gave a very small discount on the burger as an apology for the offending tomato slice. We don't go into restos with a defensive attitude. We HATE sending things back, and will only take a discount or comp if the kitchen or service ABSOLUTELY shit the bed. Wife had the queasies for the rest of the day thinking other vegetations on her burger (or the burger itself) had evidence of mishandling. Fortunately, there was no food sickness. Yes, there was heavy metal music playing very loudly throughout our visit, making conversation difficult, but I knew that would prolly be the case on the way in. The whole thing was disappointing. I was hot-to-trot about the original store and how they seemed they were taking a stand against any restaurant taking itself too seriously. It wouldn't surprise me to learn the folks who financed this outpost mandated some marketing fuck to whitewash the "Heavy Metal" concept, as seen in countless corporate restos based on a charming, small joint, and having none of its original DNA. Doug Sohn was so right to never franchise "Hot Doug's", lest the accountants make a pudding of his concept and vibe as they obviously did here with Kuma's I should have known when I walked in the front door and did not see a placard with the "house rules" nearby. It's a one star. The Old Fashioned and Salad weren't THAT good.
