After a long day of cancelled and delayed flights, this is exactly what I needed…read more Very good and extensive beer selection. I had very good (not great) wings and a tasty grilled chicken sandwich. Not the best versions of either, but still very tasty and really hit the spot. It's very clear that this location caters to business travelers. I was there on consecutive nights - Thursday and Friday night. Fairly lively room good energy, but not rowdy. Big screens over the bar with lots of games on. I really like the service both nights. I was there. The crew behind the bar was super friendly and helpful. Offered a few samples of beers. I was curious about. Overall city Work checked all the boxes. Glad I came.

Out at Woodfield Mall, we tried City Works based on a Google Maps suggestion. It's a large,…read morecorporate, upscale dining spot. If you're a beer drinker, they have a massive selection on tap (about 90 taps--and no, that's not a typo!). They also have a large patio that looks like a great spot when the weather is nice. Inside, there's a good mix of low-tops, high-tops, banquettes, and booths. All the tabletops feature copper tops with wood trim, and exposure to water and food over time has given each table a unique patina. We arrived right as they were switching over from the brunch menu to dinner, and the staff made us feel very welcome. What We Ordered: Smoked Brisket Reuben Eggrolls: We ordered these special eggrolls for the table. My friend has a shellfish allergy, and since many traditional eggrolls contain shrimp, he was excited to try these. He said they were the best eggrolls he's ever had (though he admitted he doesn't eat them often!). He paired it with a Guinness Zero non-alcoholic draught and was amazed by how close it tasted to the original. Fish Tacos ($19): Recommended by another reviewer, these come with three cornmeal-battered, fried Mahi-Mahi tacos topped with cilantro lime cream and fresh micro cilantro. They were crispy and very tasty. If you're usually sensitive to cilantro, you might still enjoy these--I mostly tasted a bright, lemony freshness rather than heavy cilantro. Sides (Broccoli Rabe & Asparagus): I substituted chips for a vegetable side. Due to a mix-up in the kitchen, I got to try the broccoli rabe first, though it turned out way too spicy for anyone at our table. My actual order was asparagus--my absolute favorite--but it was a bit disappointing, as the bottom half of each stalk was woody and fibrous. Fish & Chips ($21.50): My friend went with this traditional entry. At that price point, he was expecting three fillets, but he couldn't finish the two that were served and took some home. Overall, a solid entrée. Classic Breakfast ($15.50): My husband got this from the brunch menu. He was very pleased with the scrambled eggs, potatoes, thick-sliced bacon, and sausage links. Overall, a solid visit with great variety on the menu!

We were just here again on 7-5-26. The brunch buffet here is still our go to for a meal like that,…read more The new layout seems to work better for traffic flow. The cook at the omelette and carving station is top notch--he's very pleasant and efficient. My omelette which was chock full of fresh ingredients was cooked to perfection. The Prime Rib was a perfect rare and seasoned well. Their signature Parmesan Reggiano hash browns are a must have. The breakfast bread choices are fresh and very tasty. I'm not a big fan of cocktail sauce with shrimp, I make an exception for theirs. It is obviously homemade and has just the right amount of kick to it. The staff is courteous and efficient. The (female) manager was constantly on the go keeping an eye on the entire operation. The entire premises is immaculate, the bathrooms are very clean and fresh smelling. A friend took me to a buffet at one of their big name competitors--that place was way overpriced and the food wasn't as good. I'm sticking with GC for the weekend brunch, my family comes here on a regular basis

The server informed me that they were out of more than 70% of the beer listed on the beer menu. If that wasn't bad enough, it took our server about 15 minutes to bring the flight. We all enjoyed our lunch albeit very slow service. I feel it would only be fair to visit this establishment once again. Maybe it was just a bad day.

Let me start by saying the food is EXCELLENT! First time…read morecoming here, (visiting from out of town), was a very pleasant experience. Brunette bartender with a lovely accent was so sweet and attentive and funny! Walked over a couple nights later, and it was drastically different. The bartender (Lindsey) was constantly complaining to a customer (seems she knew him) about her co workers, it was a little uncomfortable because we could hear everything seeing as we were the only ones at the bar. Lastly, she was so rude and pushy about taking my plate when I still had food on it. The third or fourth time she asked me if I was "done with my food" I just said yeah take it. Even though I wasn't done. We finished our drinks and left.

I'll start with the service. We had Danielle as a server and she was fantastic! She was friendly, happy, and very efficient! I loved her spirit, it made our experience so much better. We ordered non-Irish food, but it is a bar, so expect bar food. We ordered Chicken Wings with BBQ Sauce and Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Both came with fries and the portions were quite massive! The flavors were not exciting or different, but was delicious. The wings were lightly fried and the BBQ sauce wasn't too punchy. It was very mild. The home made cole slaw was great. It had a cruncy texture and was delicious. The hot chicken sandwich had the necessary spice for Nashville Hot Flavor. Also delicious. They have a vast selection of drinks and the bar is quite large. You walk in, and you're walking in an old Irish bar, wood and reminders of Guiness wherever you go! I really enjoyed our experience and the food. I didn't see too many Irish dishes, but the menu was quite large. The service was great and the food was delicious. I'm glad I finally went in to Finn McCool's.
