One of our carts lost the GPS, the group in front of us had (2) carts go dead on the course...just crazy. I almost felt bad for the course crying for someone to better care for it. Prices are still high. Many of the homes and back yards around the course are unkept... really bad, really ugly like the homeowner doesn't have money or doesn't care. You would think that the HOA would take care of this. I hope someone can help turn this course around sooner before they lose it...

I have…read morebeen to many special events held here by Frontier Days and the Arlington Heights Historical Museum. The main clubhouse has a large parking lot with an easily accessible entrance. The clubhouse went under a renovation not too long ago and looks very nice. The carpet and tables and chairs were replaced and the entire building was given a paint job. When you enter you immediately run into the pro shop. If you go upstairs you will find a full service bar and friendly bartenders. There is also a large meeting room, which can be rented for various occasions and events. The biggest complaint that I have is with the sound system. This has been a problem for years and has yet to be addressed. Overall, the Arlington Lakes Golf Club is a great space and is great for golf, drinks, and hosting events.

Sunset Meadows is actually pretty cool and convenient. It's easy in and out from Kirchoff, the baskets of balls are quite affordable and there's a smattering of things to do if you're not golf savvy. Baby W and I took a nice long walk around the perimeter - swooping along the path a few times around. I imagine it's just under one mile all the way around. There's also an astroturf putting green, a handful of (drink) vending machines and a pretty nicely put together park for the kiddos to play. I'm giving this course a 3 1/2. It's a beautiful and challenging course that's in decent shape with…read moregood length at 6800 yards and a slope rating of around 127. The pros: GPS on carts! Most holes are lined with trees on both sides and there a variety of holes that make you shape your drives. Some shots require a blind shot to greens if not placed properly. Greens were true and in decent shape with moderate speed/undulation, and not many ball marks. The clubhouse is quite roomy and has a variety of great food. The cons: No driving range. There are 2 cheesey nets with mats for practice. Some holes didn't have water in the ball cleaners and water fountains didn't work. Some greens were littered with leaves which made putting impossible. These are basic necessities that need to be checked and maintained regularly. It's an easy course to find. We paid $41 on November 1st, which is a good deal for a course of this caliber. The pace of play was 5 hours, but I'm sure it's longer in the summer. If management maintained the basic necessities properly, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars.
