I was recently gifted a set of golf clubs from my nephew.  And I haven't golfed in like 30 years, but that fact didn't deter him from gifting it to me, lol.   Well, if and before I hit up any golf courses, I first need to hit up a driving range, and so here I am on this day, and there will be need for more sessions lol.   This facility has a nice driving range setup.  I really don't know if it's tip-top state of the art, but it's plenty good.  They actually have 4 separate driving ranges.  3 of them are built into the back of their main building and on 3 separate levels - their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors actually.   The bays in these ranges used to have member card readers, but these were recently replaced with keypads that use a registered user online account to charge your prepaid account for the number of balls hit. Each bay has automated ball and tee dispensers which is quite nice, and it's like being spoon-fed your tee shots!  The 4th station is in a grass area where you can hit naturally off the grass.  The current cost is 21.8 cents per ball on the grass.  On the driving range bays, it's 13.0 cents per ball for seniors.  It's a high tech and convenient operation here and their driving range ball rates seem reasonable, so it's a big thumbs up from me and the facility certainly met my needs. read more

This is a review for Dream Golf Pro Shop -- extremely poor experience. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. STAY AWAY. Bought a wheeled golf caddie bag from here on Sept 4th for $600. Used it ONCE within 5 days and found multiple defects: 1 Bag is way too heavy, poor design 2 Wheels are unbalanced, doesn't roll straight 3 No brakes - when taken off the cart, it slides away and hit my foot Today is September 8th, and I came to return or exchange the golf bag with all tags still attached. When I tried to return it, the owner REFUSED, saying "the wheels have signs of use." Let me ask: What am I supposed to do with a WHEELED golf bag if I can't roll it on the ground? Carry it in my arms everywhere? And seriously -- when you buy a suitcase from a store, do you carry it out in your arms? No, you roll it. Same logic applies to a wheeled golf bag. That's literally what wheels are for! So their claim that 'wheels show signs of use' is completely invalid. To make it worse, the owner also said "it can't be resold after being used" and that refunding me would be "cheating the next customer." So do you throw away every hat, shirt, and pair of shoes that customers try on in your store? Hypocritical nonsense. I was planning to buy an On Off driver today. They're charging the latest model price, but I'm not sure if this club is actually the latest model. So I decided to forget about it. Not only are there quality issues with the products, but the after-sales service is completely unreliable, and the pricing isn't honest either. Everyone, please be very careful. The golf center should consider replacing the golf shop called "Dream Shop."it's a nightmare! read more

A local gem. Great place, balls automatically pop up, no bending down and even heated stalls for cold weather. You should check out the price increases at Harry Semrow. Some have increased 20% or more. You should promote that on many days, Monday and Thursday for sure your prices are the same or less than Harry Semrow. You should post a sign near there and would pick up a lot of their business. read more

This place needs to put rules in place and also fix the stalls. Way too many stalls out of commission and constantly breaking down. Also the all you can hit is abused. I have seen as many as 5 people using the same stall. One person logs in and the rest piggyback. Lastly have a proper wait list. People are packed in right behind you waiting for a stall to open. Many arguments about who was next. I have been going here for 14 years. No more until they fix the mechanical issues and the all you can hit abuse along with instilling a proper wait list. read more

I love the fact that golf center Des Plaines exists for so many reasons. To start off, they have a two story driving range that is covered from the elements so you can use the facility year round and they have heat warmers above when temps are on the chiller side. The balls are set on automated tees and can be configured to specific heights via the control box. Everything is enabled by the range card that you load with funds at any of their machines. This card is like a reusable gift card that when placed on the box at each range stall, enables the automated tee to appear with a golf ball ready to hit. They have several real grass tee areas as well along the side of the automated ones. Inside the main building, they have a golf merchandise store as well as an area for golf instruction if you're looking to learn. There's also a restaurant on site. Lastly, the have a par 3, 9 hole course to practice at as well. read more

I love golf, went here to hit some balls and a ball got stuck, I clicked the "call attendant" button and nobody came for around 10 minutes. After that I was sick of it so i asked the front desk, they called in radio to our hitting bay, still nobody came, this woman that was working there was on her phone (looked around 19) wasting my time and not helping, if you go here, try not to mess up! read more

We had a great time at the golf range. Easy check in and great set up. Wr still have money on our card so we will be going back.

Great way to practice for your next 18 on the golf course. Food in the Cafe was delicious. Drinks at the bar area is a good way to wind down and talk about the perfect shots. Lots of fun and healthy exercise. Bring all your friends to make it extra enjoyable! Keith & Rory read more

***Fall Hours have been updated to opening hours of 8am starting September 1, 2022*** I caught a red eye to Chicago for a golf tournament and was able to hit some balls at Golf Center Des Plaines early in the morning (830am). It was hot last week (9/2/2022) and unfortunately it was pretty hot and muggy that morning on the range. I got a range card for $15 and there were 3 levels of driving range stalls with a nice open range to hit into. The artificial flooring out in the range did reflect the sun into your face a bit and that made it warmer (so go later). The automatic range (using the range) card was cool. Automatic range ball dispenser and use the machine to raise or lower the rubber tees for your drives. Balls were pretty average, new and old range balls. Nice, clean facility. I did use their free practice putting greens which had 4 putting holes, real grass. The chipping area was $8 for the day (all day usage). There's also a small golf course at the facility. Plenty of parking, was a quick in and out for driving range and putting use. The facility was a quick 15 minute drive from my hotel in Rosemont (ORD). read more

Golf Center Des Plaines is seriously AMAZING. The driving ranges I've been to give you x amount of balls for y dollars. However Golf Center allows you to fill up a card with the value you want and to play. I found that it was cheaper than the driving ranges I've been to. I haven't been to all floors, but I heard all 3 are heated. Very cool since the ones I've been to have limited stalls with heaters. Can we also talk about the automated ball feeder? It's so amazing that the ball is loaded up for you once you hit it off the tee. It's also really nice that the yards are marked clearly and increments of 25. I've been to ranges where it starts at 75 or 100 for the markings. I haven't tried out the other amenities that the place has to offer but will definitely make a visit the next time I'm in the area. read more

Most of the bays error out and you have to wait for one of the high school employees to come by to "fix" it. Then proceed to error out again after a couple balls. Such a waste of time when you get to hit like 3 balls and have to wait because the machine errors out. I've been here 10 years ago and they haven't upgraded a single thing here. read more

Love the range, it's a nice change from the very expensive top golf. The auto T machine did struggle a few times but still well worth the $$. We also just come for the food sometimes, the restaurant attached to it is phenomenal!! 5 stars! read more

Great place. Heat lamp for winter, nice staff, reasonably priced. Automatic ball loading!

They over booked so we couldn't play our scheduled round. We went to the range and the auto golf feeders broke down constantly! Terrible experience. Not worth any kind of drive. read more

The fact that you have to pay to access a chipping green is insane. I've never seen a practice facility that required payment for chipping. There is a sand trap in the fenced in pay-to-practice area as well, but that does not justify the charge. No beginner is going to wander into a short-game practice are and start hacking up the place. Short game practice is for better golfers. This municipal high volume three tiered driving range should rake in more than enough capital to allow free chipping. I would not recommend this facility due to that frustrating aspect. They will chase you off the putting green area if you chip, and prevent you from chipping inside the fence unless you go inside and pay and show your receipt. Big disappointment. read more

Decent spot for family and friends to hang out and play some mini golf. Price is unbeatable, some of the holes have seen better days but overall they are in good condition! read more

Husband is obsessed...hahaha... driving range is good and cheaper than any other places..

Range is decent other than the automatic ball dispensers constantly breaking down (3 times for $15 worth of balls), course is poor condition with par 3s as low as 65 yards... in my opinion for beginner golfers, there's plenty of better courses for the same if not better price for 9/18 holes and cart included. The range is honestly the best part of this place and a good spot to satisfy the golf itch after sundown. Other than that, if you are not a beginner golfer or progressing past beginner level, this is NOT the course for you. read more

Went here the other day. Half the bays are broken for the driving range. There were lines out the door to use the bays. After waiting 15 minutes to get a bay the machine broke after hitting 8 balls. Called the attendant (which took 15 minutes) after he came and fixed it I hit 2 more balls and it broke again. Waited 5 minutes to see if the attendant would come back but no luck since everyone else's machines kept breaking he was swamped. There was a lot of people at front desk complaining why they're letting people still in when over half their pays are "closed" and the rest keep getting jammed or need maintenance. Horrible experience. read more

If you plan on golfing here just don't. Short game, greens are trash, amenities are nonexistent. Driving range is Ok

best heated bay, driving range in the suburbs that one could ask for. it has everything you need to get a good practice session in from their 3 level driving range to the small 9 hole par 3 course and finally a short game area to use. all the facilities are well kept and efficient in your needs out of a good driving range. been coming here since i was 12 and now that i've moved even closer, i'll be coming back a lot more it is a little more expensive per ball compared to other ranges. but there are monday and thursday special deals and plus the bays are heated so you can practice your game year round. and knowing myself, i need all the practice i can get read more

4 stars for value, short and easy course and driving range, friendly staff, and location (easy drive in the burbs). Nowadays, with COVID in place, this is the only night clubbing one can do, I'll take it! Night golf is an experience on its own. I hate the sun and the heat but love golf, so during the summer, it's really nice to have the night golf to escape the swampy, hot, and humid day golfing. I love this place! 1) because their driving range has the automatic ball dispenser on a tee where you can set the ball height without ever bending over. At $0.13 per ball, it's worth it not to touch the balls and your tee and constantly having to reset the height. 2) golf course: this is a par 3 course, super easy and short. Great for beginners and late night fun with friends. They do not have golf carts here, so be prepared to walk. Again, these are short courses, so no big deal. My only gripe about this place is their greens are really not better maintained. But for $18 for 9 holes, there should really be not too many expectations. Careful with your putting, there are no straight putts here. They close at midnight, so if you're going late, play fast because they will cut the lights off. Also, because it's night time, the bugs are out, bring bug spray. Anddddd, be prepared to lose your balls if you have a bad shot, it's dark, it'll be hard to find. I can't wait to go back to play some night golf and not sweat my face off and get dehydrated from the super heat! Enjoy clubbing!!! read more

Husband and I always go here to use the driving range, short game area, and eat at Club Casa Cafe. Husband goes here to golf with his buddies. + nice driving range + clean facilities + ok food at Club Casa Cafe (not that great but it will do if you want sandwiches or wings with beer after a day of golfing) Only negative: We came in today (July 10, 2021) with the kids hoping to use the driving range. I called ahead to make sure that children were welcome. I was told it was OK. When we got there, we were told that they do not rent golf clubs due to Covid. I would have appreciated this if we were told over the phone and this info was posted in their website. We schlepped all the way to the center only to have the kids disappointed. (See screenshot of their website.) Not the fault of the worker at the front desk who told us the rules but would appreciate if the rules were posted on their website and customers calling are told ahead of time. read more

Open til midnight. Can't beat it. Love the short game area. The 9 hole course is kinda dumpy but they compensate elsewhere for it

A nice driving range experience with lots of terminals to hit from. They also have a unique ball pricing model where you pay by the ball and not for an entire basket full. The range could be updated a little bit aesthetically, but we enjoyed our experience overall for a group of 5 of us who wanted to hit the range in a casual environment. read more

First visit to a golf range ever. Beautiful 80 degree weather on the Memorial Day weekend (thank God for those selfless and sacrificial troops). A bit bummed that the bar closed at 8pm on Sunday, but hey, everyone needs a break now and then. Came with my husband and in laws. The activity makes for fun conversation and lively laughter, especially if you're a beginner. $15 for about 120 balls, I think. Great place to learn the basic techniques to golf. I would recommend this place for beginners and professionals alike. Probably not the safest place for kids, but perhaps if they're well-behaved and above the age of 12. Can be dangerous if you're not in a safe zone, avoiding all flying balls and heavy clubs. I'd do this again! read more

Very nice driving range with the auto T's. Convenient card inserted into the machine and you can load as much or little as you want.

Played 9 hole on Saturday. Challenging course for novices but fun. Front desk guys are super helpful and friendly. The guy for nine hole, a different story. Drove up to us to say there were six groups behind us and speed up play. But when we finished and hung around talking, we saw there was actually only one couple and no one else on the course. Do you need to work on your golf game? Just have an outing with your buddies? The Des Plaines golf center is your place to go. Outstanding driving range facilities and a great practice green with bunkers to work on your short game. The food in the restaurant is fantastic at any standard. Before I start, I like Top Golf wayyyy better. Rob,the front desk guy helped me out with everything and was awesome. For $15, you can wack a golf ball until you get tired and still have $8 left over. They don't charge you for your person golf card. So it's much much cheaper then Top Golf, but I like the experience and ambiance at Top Golf better. This place is never packed either unlike Top Golf, so you don't have to deal with a 30-90 minute wait. They have the 3 floors, and if you suck like me, you should go to the 3rd floor so it looks like you are hitting high and far when you're really not. I went on the first floor once with all the cool professional guys, I realized that I was even worse then I thought and decided it's better if I just chill on the 3rd floor. This place is great and you can't ask for anything more for the price they give you. Bring your Des Plaines ID to get discounts! read more

The only thing I really remember about this driving range is the sign outside their restaurant that said, "Mondays, 50 cent wings." Just kidding, i remember more than that. J and I drove out here last night to hit some golf balls, and although it's tad bit far, the 2 for 1 monday special was well worth the drive. It's more high-tech and bigger than the usual Skokie range we go to, and I liked that you really didn't have to wait. Our spot had a broken tee so that was annoying, and the bugs start to come out around 8:30, so it's wise to go right after work and not waste too much time with dinner. This place has major Asian invasion, though, which is why it lost a star. If you have korean folks who aren't comfortable with English, they would like this place. Even their sign-in sheets come translated into Korean. They have a bar and restaurant downstairs (thus the 50 cent wings) and a pretty decent sized golf store. read more

I love this place. Even my dad loved it. I took him today for the first time. The balls do get stuck once in a while. But there is always somebody to unstick them. Its great because you get a card and only shoot what you need. Also mondays are cheaper. Its only 6cents on monday. Thursdays are 8 cents. And the rest of the time is 12 cents. The only thing is the rubber tees are a little flimsy. But you can adjust the height. The food was also not bad. The restaurant only had 1 person on hand to wait and it was not busy but it still took a while. However it was very tasy and very filling. Large portions. read more
