There were 2-3 groups waiting, so it's probably possible to finish in 1:30 or less. Bathrooms in the clubhouse and between holes 4-5 are very clean and have requisite items like soap, hand dryers, etc. The beverage cart came around once, which is fine for 9 holes, as you also end up near the clubhouse regularly. Nearly every hole had a ball washer and they were all topped up and had towels. I didn't try the restaurant but it looks like an excellent place to watch a game and likely has the standard pub fare. Overall, it's a good spot to walk a quick 9 that's not too far from downtown and is a high quality option vs other city run courses.

I hate to say anything about this course because it is the best kept secret. Get an early tee time because it gets crowded later just like other public courses. It is a short course but challenging. The starters are excellent. My son was late for our tee time but the starters handled it perfectly. I highly recommend this course. The starters told me it is not crowded on weekdays. You can get both a push and golf cart. I don't walk courses anymore.

Conditions are good, with no huge issues like torn up tee boxes or greens, just normal usage marks. There are ball washers and towels on every hole but there is no water on course and only 1 porta-potty. Be sure to put bug spray so you're not stepping away from shots and swatting bugs all day. Carts are poor-mine made it to the first tee and then died. I had to try 3 different ones to have faith in how it sounded driving away. Seats are torn up across the board and there is no GPS or sand/seed bottles despite holders for them. Apparently they're in their last year, so maybe all the faults will be addressed come 2027. Staff are very nice, both starter and in the clubhouse. There was no beverage/snack cart on course for a Saturday afternoon which seems odd/unfortunate. Pace for a 2pm tee time was 4:30, but the delays happened right at the beginning so we didn't go off until 2:20. There was no issue waiting on those ahead of us but the group behind was delayed, potentially because we had walkers in the group. It's a good spot to play that's pretty close to the city and presents a good value at $43 to walk or $63 to ride. Ranking would easily bump up one with better carts, pacing, and a visit from the snack cart or water coolers out on course.

There are options to play games or simulate a real golf course. They also play music throughout which adds to the fun vibe. I never once got the sense that Dave was annoyed with the process - he seems to have a passion for fitting people into new clubs and improving their golf game. When all was said and done, there was no additional charge for the fitting, and the irons were priced competitively (same as Taylormade sells them for on their website). Case in point: After buying a new set of 7-UW irons several months ago, I came back to get fitted for a new driver (to match my gorgeous new irons, so I thought...). After 2 hours of watching me hit balls, analyzing my swing, and throwing in a lot of great coaching, he kindly and gently advised to work on my swing (apparently a driver swing is completely different than with an iron. Who knew?) and see if I can correct some of my inconsistencies. To be fair, I'm coming back to golf after a 5 year hiatus and 3 joint replacement surgeries, so I'm a mess. However, Dave ended saying he would not feel comfortable selling me a $500-700 driver that may not give me the best performance (because of my swing). That was after 2 hours of his full attention. They have multiple ATMs on location but also there is a Bank of America in Skokie/Lincolnwood and also a Chase across the street if you use those banks. Make sure to press the yellow foot pedals for really cool mechanical additions to the hole you're at. Although it is about $14 per person after 12 pm, I can see why! A huge location, cool mechanical additions, lights at night, arcade, and batting cages too. So a lot that goes to cost but still memorable. Make sure to support local businesses!
