5 stars for Topgolf in Schaumburg! This was my first time here, or at any Topgolf location for that matter. I had a great time here, you don't need to be Tiger Woods to have fun at Topgolf - all skill level players are welcome. You can pick multiple golfing games on screens in your section - you can do ones that only count if you hit the holes, ones that count your distance, ones that incorporate fun app games like Angry Birds and Sonic and more. Our server was very friendly/attentive at our section while golfing, she checked up on us a lot if we needed help or if we wanted to order anything. I didn't bother ordering food or drinks as it's all extremely expensive (eat/drink before you go). If you like mini golf, but regular golf isn't your thing, I think Topgolf is somewhere in the middle where you can have a great time at. Definitely check it out at least once, the earlier you go in the day, the less crowded it will be - especially early mornings.

We checked in before 7:30 and were initially placed on the first floor. We immediately asked if it was possible to move to a higher floor, and were directed to a manager--who denied the request without even checking availability. That already set the tone for the experience. Things didn't improve from there. Our waiter brought a drink to the wrong person in our party and didn't card them. We had to step in and clarify that they were not the same person. It was honestly a bit uncomfortable and came across as careless and unprofessional. On top of that, we specifically asked to split the bill between drinks and the game for each person--something that's advertised as easy to do for groups. Instead, it was handled poorly. Everyone ended up being charged separately for their drinks and then again for the game portion, making it confusing and frustrating to sort out. This is only my second time at this location, and unfortunately it feels like they dropped the ball again without making any effort to fix it. Definitely disappointing.

The pre-check in process was smooth. The bay was clean and well stocked with all the golf clubs. Our server, Mike B, even checked if we needed left handed clubs. He was attentive to our table for our beverage orders without hovering, which was appreciated. We did not order any food items this visit, but have enjoyed the food we have eaten previously. It was a fun evening to spend with the family, no matter the golfing level.

Took a small group here yesterday and had an absolute blast the food was amazing and our server was completely on point friendly attentive and made the whole experience even better This is one of my go to spots to unwind and blow off some steam and it never disappoints I have even hosted birthday parties here and they always go above and beyond to make everything feel top notch Already looking forward to coming back soon honestly stop reading this and just go

I bought the Top Golf Summer Pass this year and I am so excited to be a regular here this Summer! Top Golf is a fun and exciting activity to do with my friends and family. I can chat, work on my swing, and enjoy food and beverages from their many menu options. The hosts are always friendly and attentive to our needs, checking in on us regularly. I can't wait for a fun filled summer at Top Golf!

We went here as a large event put on by they did not know about my allergies before we got there and when I asked the manager ran down to the kitchen multiple times to ask if there were things I could eat on the buffet that was given to us and when they could not find something that was not going to react they provided me with a meal off the menu for free. The food was absolutely wonderful and one of the best hamburgers I think I've ever had. The atmosphere is nice and there's coach Bob who will come around and help anyone at everyone learn how to play golf. I was shocked that I actually did well after the first few and it was quick to pick up. I really love the Angry Birds game which made it much more fun rather than just hitting the ball to hit it. The wait staff were absolutely wonderful at their jobs and always made sure that we had what we needed.

Bob was really great! Amazing customer service and food was good. My main critique is that the burgers could have had more sauce.

We love it here. My son (who is 3) begs to come here because he has so much fun playing golf. We (the adults) love sitting back and enjoying the snacks. It's a win for everyone. We both have the membership and it has been an amazing value, allowing us to visit and snack monthly. Definitely check this one out!

I had a lot of fun hitting golf balls and their food. Went here for a birthday party with a big group and we had a tasty charcuterie party platter, guac and cheese dip with chips and salsa. The buffalo chicken dip would have to be my favorite, it comes in a cast iron so it stays warm for a while. So good. They have plenty of floors and games to play other than golf so it makes it an inclusive entertainment place for everyone. They also have an outdoor roof with fireplaces to stay warm in the evenings. Service was great, we had one of the waiters grab our drinks.

Alana S.

The service was great, a waiter/waitress came by every so often to see if we wanted anything. There is no call button or anything, so you do have to rely on them walking by or coming up to the table. The food was mid, nothing to really write home about. The donuts were the best thing of the night with the warm raspberry jam. The worst thing was the buffalo chicken potato skins. It just had an off putting texture, we just weren't fans. The games were fun! I for sure cannot golf, so it's nice that some of the games are friendly for even the beginner golfer. We'd probably come back, maybe with a bigger crowd, it seems more fun. Great alternative to bowling!

Katherine B.

I had so much fun here! The different games are great, angry birds was so fun. Our servers Efron and Evan were top notch. They were on top of it, funny and kind. Can't wait to come back!

How are the heaters working this time of year?

We were there last week during the recent snow storm and it felt comfortable under the heaters while it was about 25-30° outside.

It's going to be 25 degrees tonight. Do the heaters really work that well when it's that cold?

Yes, they do. We had an event here end of last year and it was cold outside. I was amazed we were warm the entire time in our bay.

How much time should we plan for a round (5 people)? The bays rent per hour, so is one hour enough?

This really depends on your group and what you decide to play. Like bowling, it's all at your own pace, and some of your group might be super competitive and know what they're doing, while others might need to be dragged off their seat.…

Do you need to wear golf shoes?

Nope. While you might want to wear something practical, you do not need special shoes.

How long is the walk in wait on the weekend in the winter?

Anywhere from 30-90 minutes...The earlier the better.

Are there heated bays?

Oh yes! Still wear a winter coat and gloves, but yes, they have those patio heaters

Do you need to reserve a bay if you come midday? Can the walk in wait get bad?

In the summers, reservations are highly recommended just because you really never know what the walk in business will look like. The walk in wait can get up to 4 hours.

I was cool with tagging along, so after running a few errands, the next question was where we were going to eat. After debating a few places, we landed on Miller's Ale House in Schaumburg. Neither of us was that hungry, but funny enough, we had been talking about wings earlier. Once wings are already on your mind, sometimes you just have to get them. We decided to split their Wednesday special, 12 wings for $12. I got six peach spicy BBQ and my friend got six spicy garlic. We purposely chose flavors we each wanted but knew we could still share. The wings took around 15 minutes and came out completely sauced up. They were medium-sized, and I started with my peach spicy BBQ. Peach and BBQ might sound like an interesting combination, but if mango habanero works, why can't peach? What surprised me was that you could actually taste all three parts. The peach is the strongest, giving it a sweet and fruity flavor right away. Then comes a light kick of spice. Nothing that's going to spice you up, but enough that you notice it. Finally, the BBQ makes its entrance and brings everything together. As you keep eating, all three flavors start mixing really well. The wings had some crispness, especially the flats, but it was definitely on the lighter side. Some parts had a nice little crisp when you bit into them while other parts weren't quite as crispy. The sauces were definitely what stood out most to me. Eventually my friend and I traded a wing, and I tried his spicy garlic. I think I need to start ordering spicy garlic more often. It's such a simple concept. You have that familiar Buffalo flavor with minced garlic added to it, but boy does it smack. The garlic gives it another layer without overpowering the Buffalo. I really enjoyed the peach spicy BBQ, but if I had to pick between the two, the spicy garlic stole the show. Funny enough, it wasn't even the flavor I ordered. The Wednesday deal was a nice surprise too. Twelve wings for $12 nowadays is a pretty solid deal, especially when you can split them between two flavors. I also have to give credit to our waitress. She was personable, attentive, and on top of everything throughout the visit. There are TVs everywhere, the bar had a decent crowd, and the whole place had a chill but lively feel to it, especially for a Wednesday. At the end of the day, this was one of those random stops that turned into a good time. The wings were solid, I found a new appreciation for spicy garlic, the service was great, and the atmosphere made it an easy place to hang out for a while. I don't know if the wings alone would be what brings me back, but Miller's has enough going for it that I'd definitely return. Plus, I kept seeing their chicken tenders called "Zingers," and now I feel like I have unfinished business. Those might have to be the move next time

I'll start with the service. We had Danielle as a server and she was fantastic! She was friendly, happy, and very efficient! I loved her spirit, it made our experience so much better. We ordered non-Irish food, but it is a bar, so expect bar food. We ordered Chicken Wings with BBQ Sauce and Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Both came with fries and the portions were quite massive! The flavors were not exciting or different, but was delicious. The wings were lightly fried and the BBQ sauce wasn't too punchy. It was very mild. The home made cole slaw was great. It had a cruncy texture and was delicious. The hot chicken sandwich had the necessary spice for Nashville Hot Flavor. Also delicious. They have a vast selection of drinks and the bar is quite large. You walk in, and you're walking in an old Irish bar, wood and reminders of Guiness wherever you go! I really enjoyed our experience and the food. If you read my Yelp on the original location, you'll learn I was quite impressed with the unique qualities of the bread and circuses therein. THIS store, however, is not a funky old Chitown corner tavern, repurposed into a brilliant resto as the original is. It has the appearance and feel of a corporate outpost with NONE of the intrinsic vibe and atmosphere of the paternal iteration. It's a big room, with an enclosed "patio" with even less charm. One of the great things about the original is the non-exclusive yet cordial service, hinting at rough trade, yet somehow I believe this is a manufactured behavior, for fun. Kind of like if Ed Debevic was a hardcore outlaw biker. (IYKYK). The servers here were kind of cheerless, and aloof. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was yum. A Caesar was next, and that too, was pretty tasty. So I started to think, "Ok this isn't the original Kuma's, but the Schaumburg audience is going to be a bit different than the Northside Hipsters". When you're aware of circumstances, attitudes change. Wife played it safe, eschewing all the ooga-booga burgers of the menu and just going for a regular burger, ketchup, mayo, tomato, onions, no cheese please. Cooked medium. I, however, remembered seeing someone on TeeVee having a "Plague Bringer" supposedly redolent of Garlic and fiercely chilli'ed. Right up my alley! I bid the Waitron to bring it with all speed. The burgers appeared shortly. Wife noticed the tomato on her plate had an unsavory black & grey area in its innards. obviously rotten. How the expediter ever let that get out of the Kitchen, I dont know. It was sent back an returned with an excuse it was a bit of olive that got mixed up with the tomato. I immediately checked the menu to see if they OFFERED anything, anywhere with black olives, and there wasn't anything there. I asked the same of the Waitron, and got the same answer. As wife didn't put the tomato on her burger, it was shuffled to the side. Wife said the burger was nothing special, And neither was my "PlagueBringer". Most of it was buried in Tortilla Strips. Not appetizing at all. The expected Garlic onslaught was nowhere to be found, neither was the anticipated chilli pepper sting. All I could taste were the french fried onions (the same ones you find on greenie beanie casseroles during your Grandmother's Thanksgiving dinner) heaped under the top pretzel bun hood. A segregated bite found the burger patties un-seasoned and not terribly tasty (both mine and Wife's burger). What a bummer. They gave a very small discount on the burger as an apology for the offending tomato slice. We don't go into restos with a defensive attitude. We HATE sending things back, and will only take a discount or comp if the kitchen or service ABSOLUTELY shit the bed. Wife had the queasies for the rest of the day thinking other vegetations on her burger (or the burger itself) had evidence of mishandling. Fortunately, there was no food sickness. Yes, there was heavy metal music playing very loudly throughout our visit, making conversation difficult, but I knew that would prolly be the case on the way in. The whole thing was disappointing. I was hot-to-trot about the original store and how they seemed they were taking a stand against any restaurant taking itself too seriously. It wouldn't surprise me to learn the folks who financed this outpost mandated some marketing fuck to whitewash the "Heavy Metal" concept, as seen in countless corporate restos based on a charming, small joint, and having none of its original DNA. Doug Sohn was so right to never franchise "Hot Doug's", lest the accountants make a pudding of his concept and vibe as they obviously did here with Kuma's I should have known when I walked in the front door and did not see a placard with the "house rules" nearby. It's a one star. The Old Fashioned and Salad weren't THAT good.
