I had a really disappointing first visit to this Topgolf. We went on Sunday around 5 so it was pretty busy. We were told there would be a 45 minute wait on a bay.. no problem! That gave us time to eat. We went to the second floor to sit and waited for someone to assist us. Waitress walked by several times, not a word. ANOTHER waitress walked by to check on someone a table over from us... not a word. Two waitresses stood near us talking.... still ignored. I tried to walk over to the girl taking care of our area but she went another direction. Eventually we approached a guy standing near the bays to ask for help so he said he'd send someone over. Still took another 5 minutes. By the time we were able to place our order, the bay was ready. I let the girl know which bay we were in... to my extreme surprise she did bring our food and drinks down there so some kudos for that. The spiked strawberry lemonade is good, not gonna front. I'm sipping my drink and waiting for a bay attendant to come over. That also takes forever. The screen tells me my government name isn't family friendly and I have to change it (I've had a membership with my name for years) but ok fine. Attendant finally comes over and we are setting up a new member and then she leaves. We can't finish because she has the little member cards. 2nd person comes over to help and she doesn't know what she's doing. She tells us we don't need a card when it says right on the screen we do. The other girl gives her a card so we can get set up. Then she gets an attitude and asked if we've been helped or not since we know some of the rules but not all. The service was absolutely abysmal. The flatbread and fries were okay. Wings were pretty good. They were really behind getting the balls up this day so we had several instances where we didn't get points because our ball hit someone else's and bounced away. The facility is nice. Went for mini golf after our plans for a different venue changed. Took my child for mini golf so we paid and collected our putters and balls and went to the bathroom. When we came out, we realized there was no signage to the mini golf course so we asked and weirdly were met with attitude (we have never been to this location). Once we went outside there, again, was no signage or direction where to start so we ended up walking all over to find where to start. The course was just ok. We tried to make the best of it. Had a great time! I went with a group of 9 for my birthday. My friends insisted we get a top floor, which meant a wait. We just went to the bar while we waited which worked out well. The staff guy who checked us in was able to get us adjacent bays. We ordered almost every app on the menu -- I was surprised with how good everything was! What an awesome addition to the Richmond area! We had such a great time here! The check in process was easy and everything was thoroughly explained. We went during the week, and was able to be assigned a bay right away. The food was delicious (we got three different flavors of wings), the drinks were on point, and out bay attendant was awesome. I love the atmosphere of this place. I'm definitely not a golf player, but everyone was having so much fun that no one noticed! Lol My kids had the best time! They're already asking to go back. Tuesday's are 50% off (right now), so that's a good day to go just to try it out. You do have to pay a one time $5 lifetime membership fee. Top Golf has always been one of my favorite recreational activities. I've played two in Illinois, as well as Virginia Beach, and one in New Jersey. I took my friend up to a new location since we planned on grabbing some grub and beer afterwards. This location is a little smaller than the others I've been to, it definitely has less parking space. But thy do have mini golf, which we don't have down in Virginia Beach. Staff was friendly, especially the girl working the front desk. This location did have some unique game options, particular the recent innovation to play famous courses cross the country. Unfortunately, playing with my friend, we didn't quite have the time to do that. Cocktails were pretty good (mai tai and Long Island) and the hot, soft pretzel nuggets with queso definitely hit the spot. I wasn't big on the grainy mustard with the pretzels. Back when it opened was my fav place to take my family of 6. We all had a great time. The food was never that good. Basically bowling alley food. When they first launched pricing was reasonable but on the high side. It is funny reading the threads now and the CEO blaming post covid and economy on their financial issues. They need to realize the reasons why families like mine do not return... 1) They started billing you for making a reservation..is not assumed into your bill when you show up and play. Even restaurants in the area don't do this. 2) Rates increased dramatically over time. It cost ALOT more now than it did a few years ago to play. Why...you server is waiting on serval bays, everything is being reused, golf balls, clubs, tracking system... The only reason cost went up is because of corporate greed...they have priced themselves out of my families options of entertainment. I can have a great dinner delivered to my house and fire up the Switch and play games of similar quality and not waste a ton of money and have a better bonding experience with my family. This is a great combination of competitive and fun! Been here a couple times with friends and there check process is easy. I just choose a time slot online and showed up. Tuesdays are half-off letting you either playing double the usual or save some money. I'm not the best golfer and most definitely need to work on my swing. An easy way to get some practice. This place is great! We had a good time. Very good bar food, easy drinking beer and we got to use 5 irons to kill angry birds. There were 8 of us, we had plenty of room to spread out. With fewer walls than most bars we had little issue with sound pollution, food odor or being surrounded by tables. The best part was the activity. Not just the endless speculation of who will eat the last tatter tot. When my jokes went stale I could stand up walk to a ledge and hammer little balls into the darkness. This a date place. I hate dates at movies where everyone has to stay quiet. Or dinner dates at nice restaurants where all you talk about was the other places you have eaten. It's more a kin to bowling, without the shoe rental. If your good at clubbing angry birds you can receive high praise from your date. Top Golf is always a fun outing whether with friends or family! Something fun for everyone. Glad RVA added a location. This was my first time visiting this location and I was curious to see what the difference was between this one and VB. No major differences besides location. During COVID-19 businesses are operating differently, but I have to say Top Golf is doing a great job! I made a reservation for a Saturday afternoon with some friends and I'm glad that I did as Top Golf is popular we avoided having to wait. The price is per bay per hour. Up to 6 players can play in one bay. Masks are required! I liked that hand sanitizer was provided, hand wipes with food, masks for those who didn't enter with one. Employees wear masks and gloves which is a plus. There are plastic barriers (similar concept to plexiglass) between each bay. Pretty fun socially distanced activity! Certain areas are blocked off due to social distancing. Staff was friendly and helpful. The Mac n cheese bites are really good! Comes with spicy marina sauce and ranch on the side. For an appetizer they are pretty filling. Tuesday's are half-priced! Open to Noon is $20 per hour, Noon-5pm is $30 per hour and 5pm to close is $40 per hour. Kept getting our checks wrong and instead of checking up on us at all she kept talking to her coworker behind us. Seemed like most of her tables were irritated with her. Coming from a server of almost 10 years. I would NEVER have treated a table that way. We called for her multiple times and she would look at us and then look away to continue her conversation with her coworker. My group tried to be patient and understanding as it was busy but at this point it was irritating because she wasn't listening, took extremely long and didn't seem to care about helping us. Went on a Monday with 20 people. They only had one 1 floor. They couldn't lettuce play. Told us they couldn't guarantee us any time because they only had one floor open. I complained to a manager about an employees performance and instead immediately started being harassed by a manager. I asked for another manager and was told that basically since they weren't present they had to go with the word of another manager who also wasn't present. The short - Topgolf is fun. The view from the top deck is beautiful and the skill games are fun to try for an hour or two. It's something we might do once a year or on occasion meet with friends on a sunny day. COVID precautions were adequate and fine. We're already outside and a good bit separate so I personally didn't have any worries. Staff are pleasant and waiters are friendly. Things are brought over within a reasonable amount of time after ordering and they are helpful when it comes to starting/stopping your golfing and closing out your tabs. The long - I've been here twice and had fun. I'm not a golfer but enjoy hitting the balls which I do fairly well. RVA opened two places like this over the past few years and I definitely prefer here over Drive Shack, properly set in Richmond City. The menu, drinks, and everything else is good. Prices are fine because no one should come here expecting really high quality or great value but with that expectation I actually think the offerings are totally adequate and don't really have much to say should be improved. I usually have a beer or cider and think a bit of a larger selection of both would be good. We've ordered a few fruity drinks which were also fine - these things are never a good value but hey, they're fun, right? I'm just being realistic - no complaints. I tend to want to be left alone a little more than would allow for a business model such as this; I know they don't plan to survive on an hour's time of swinging golf clubs and expand their margins through purchases of drinks and food (much like movie theatres). So I don't have anything but positive things to say about Topgolf but when it comes to getting started I tend to just want to have fun first and would prefer to call over a service staff member when I'm ready to think about drinks or nibbles. You're usually approached promptly by wait staff, which is a good thing after all, but the push to order from the menu and begin all these add-on activities, for me, takes away from why I'm really there, which is to have fun with friends and hit some balls. We're not here for food or drink but typically comply with the staff's expectations and do feel the young people hard at work are deserving of a good tip for giving us good, friendly attention. We stopped by around 12pm on Sunday to get a bay on the first floor. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait and that we could head to the second floor lounge area. There were things to do while waiting such as jenga, foosball, connect 4 and more. The atmosphere was really lively. Plenty of TV's throughout the establishment. I finally got the text alert that our bay was ready for the next so and so minutes (I don't recall, but between 5-15 mins - enough time to cash out at the bar or something). The texted included our bay number as well so we just walked straight there and checked in. We did not have memberships and no one really explained to us about it. I saw that there were membership cards, but we did not receive any despite paying the $5 fee. The flow of service could be worked on. Our server that day was really nice, the food we ordered tasted okay. When we tabbed out, my boyfriend and I split the bill, but we never saw our bill physically nor received a copy. Our server just stood there telling us our total and waited for us to hand over our payment. If I had friends that suggested TG, I wouldn't turn down the idea because I did have fun and enjoyed the games that were offered... but after this experience, I am more of a fan of the competitor. read more

I visited Topgolf with a group of my coworkers for a team bonding event and I was so impressed with my time there! The facility is huge and is easy to locate with a large, well lit parking lot. We had several bays together on the third floor and were attended by attentive, hard working staff. Since we were a large, prebooked party, we were served buffet style, and I really enjoyed the food! The pork sliders were a hit with everyone at my table and the queso was fabulous. I had a great time playing the different golf games with my friends. When were weren't playing, there were comfortable sofas and warm heaters to keep us nice and toasty as we chatted and cheered on the golfers. Each floor has an indoor area as well where you can sit and relax and enjoy the bar if you don't feel up to sitting at your bay outside. I wasn't expecting to have such a fun time here and I'm so glad I went. I can't wait to come back with my friends another day and to enjoy some great food and great golf. read more

My husband and I went on a Thursday around lunchtime. There were plenty of bays available on the second and third floors and the first floor was closed. It was out first time going, so someone explained everything to us, which was super helpful. Our server was nice and attentive. The food was what you'd expect. I got a chicken sandwich and my husband got a burger. The fries were good. The golfing was fun. There are holes in the ground that are the targets. We also played the Angry Birds game, which was super easy for beginners. We'll definitely be going back. read more

My second trip to Top Golf occurred last night. Was pretty much what we expected based on our last visit. Food was decent and what you would expect at a facility run by teenagers....perhaps a little better. However much of the evening was ruined by extremely loud music. There is no way to turn down the music on the speakers above you suspended from the ceiling. Please understand, I don't mind music at higher volumes but towards the end of our stay the music blared so loud that the speakers were distorting. Our serve could barely hear us when we yelled in her year. Also, the music was all the same genre, some kind of rap music that was really bad. I know music is subjective but I bet many more would share our opinion. At a minimum they should play all kinds of music and not the same type of music. Our company really enjoyed having our last event at Top Golf so we decided to have our Christmas party at Top Golf. Even those in their 20's complained about the extremely high level of the music. Our server told me that a DJ had arrived and was controlling the volume and the music being played. It seemed it was more to the DJ's liking than the customers. At a minimum I would request that Top Golf put volume knobs in each location so we can lower the volume in order to be able to talk to each other. I can't help but wonder where the manager was during this time of incredible loud music. I hope someone in charge reads this and can do something about it before others are subjected to this. read more

Finally a day outside! This was so much fun!! I have zero golf skills but manage md to hits a few good ones. There were all sort of skill levels, so don't worry, plus you have your own, closed off, area. The food is bar food and there was a good selection of beers - my personal favorite is Blue Moon!! The clubs and booths are sanitized after each group, and all the staff wore gloves and masks. It is a popular place, so be prepared to wait... So go out, be safe and have fun! read more

This Top Golf location is amazing! I came here with a group of friends while visiting Richmond for Thanksgiving. The staff here were very welcoming and ensured we were always well looked after, and had plenty to eat and drink. We ordered several of their pepperoni pizzas and they were actually really tasty! My first time at a drive shack was here at Topgolf and it was a fun time. The bays are socially distanced with plastic dividers between each bay. The staff were all wearing masks and the service was great. The different golf-related games displayed on the interactive screen contain something every level. They have outdoor heaters above the bays so we were able to stay toasty in 40 degree weather. Would definitely come back in the future for a couple more rounds! read more
