Came for a quick birthday gathering. Everything was fine . We had bay 311 and 312. Our server was name Luke. I for some reason called him Tyler he never corrected me . But any who top golf closes at 11 we got there about 10:15. We just wanted to hang with our family and have a drink and some food. Luke did not know what he was doing so we could log in, it took Luke four times to explain the wrong information to us. He stated he could not serve us until everyone checked in for the $5 membership. Even if they were not playing they had to log in . After we checked in we tried to start our order before the kitchen closed! Luke stayed he can not take our order until everyone is signed in. Luke finally took our order. Our drinks and food was good, we were missing 2 drinks, so we asked Luke and Luke stated it didn't get put in until after last call. How is that possible when we all ordered together. As we were trying to figure this out Luke decided he wanted to speak on something to our mom that had nothing to do with him, I told Luke he needed to mind his business and do his job here is a dish we are done with. Luke stated I can clean it myself as he walked off! Now the manager is called his name was Tyler cool man he fixed the situation and we left thanks Tyler. This was my first time at this top golf . This was my first time going here! For my friends birthday party. I had a blast. The servers were spot on bringing drinks and assisting with the buffet purchased. The buffet was steak and chicken fajitas, rice, beans, tortillas, salsa, cheese, sour cream, donut holes, and chocolate cookies! All of it was delicious! I've been to TopGolf in Vegas and Va Beach. It's great to have a TopGolf in Richmond now. I went to TopGolf with my family for brunch and to swing some clubs. The Richmond TopGolf has a simulator station inside, which is really cool. There's a mini golf area as well (not opened yet). We ordered breakfast burritos and french toast. The burrito was delicious. French toast was decent (a-ok). Service was great most of the day but one incident left a lot to be desire with customer service. Overall, we had a fun time playing golf at TopGolf. There's plenty of parking in front. I give TopGolf Richmond a 3.5 rating. Since TopGolf Richmond has recently opened, hopefully kinks are worked out. read more

What a fun experience! We went for a friends birthday and loved this first time experience. I had never played golf in my life and this was a first time experience. We played several different games, and had success with each one. We had sliders, chicken tenders and chips with queso and all were good. Do be scammed by this place....they are busy on weekends and at night, thus you need to make a reservation...however it costs $10 to make a reservation online and you do not get that back, does not go toward golf or food. Be aware of hidden charges - $5 "Membership" fee for everyone that wants to play, to be added to their email list and spam list, so we paid 30 dollars before we even hit a golf ball - service not that good, have to flag down a server every time, food was fair appetizers sized for 2 people - biggest scam - when you get the check, the amount includes, membership fee, golf fee, drinks and food for which they want a tip on all of it - so my food was only $40, but wanted me to tip them on $105; don't be fooled. read more

Shame on me for not reading or understanding the ridiculous reservation policy, I have never heard of such a thing. I truly expected that the $ would be credited to my bill when I arrived I did not expect to be charged $45 to a reserve a time to spend money at your business? I make reservation's all of the time for golf, restaurants, hotels, etc... NO ONE charges to make a reservation! Some might charge if you don't show up, but to show up and spend money at your business and being charged for the privilege of making a reservation is insulting. Based on this policy TopGolf has lost a customer forever! I will never spend another nickel at this business.  It's to bad because I had a really great time with my family and we looked forward to doing it again but honestly I felt like I was robbed.  Based on this your rating went from a 5 to a -5 in my book. I think top golf is a perfect activity for a group even if you're horrible at golf like me. It's a fun way to hangout besides just sitting at home! The food here is really good too! So much fun!!! I had the absolute best time. You don't have to be a golfer to have fun there. There are many different games to choose from- golf courses & target games. The tracer technology is pretty amazing. There are a ton of tvs and 2 HUGE tv screens at the end of the outfield. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They did a great job explaining how to play the game for us first-timers. The management team was visible and came around to greet us and check on us, which was nice. Great food with a lot of options (I loved the pretzel & charcuterie board and the burger!). Great drinks (especially their house cocktail list and craft beer selection). There are bars on the 1st & 3rd floors. Great outdoor space on all 3 levels with fire pits on the top patio. Ohhh, and all the bays are climate controlled with fans & heaters! The Swing Suite is sooo cool. It has so many different virtual games for all ages. They're going to have a mini golf course on location too. It has something for everyone! I have been to a Topgolf in both Houston and Alexandria and this is by far the nicest one I've been to. Helps that it's brand new I'm sure. I went here for our company Christmas party around lunchtime on a Wednesday. The staff was incredible for our event. There were several staff members that were available throughout the event and provided exceptional customer service. We had a group of about 12 and had two bays reserved. It was a chilly day but the heaters in the bays kept us plenty warm and there was spacious and comfortable seating. Even as we were all still ordering, drinks starting coming out and the food followed shortly after. The pretzel bites were pretty yummy and I got some boneless wings, they were a solid order. I also ordered a golf bag cocktail which was a fun souvenir but I would probably not order it outside of our party because it was $16. Still a great drink and now I have a fun cup. The directions were easy to follow and I had a great time golfing. You do not have to be good at golfing, it's just a lot of fun. The food and beverages and their cost were average for a place like this, so be prepared to pay a little more for your average appetizers but even if you don't order anything you will have a great time. And the staff made the day truly memorable! read more

When I was made aware of Top Golf I was very suspicious. The concept of a Bar/Restaurant driving range was a new idea and I had my questions and concerns. The moment I walked into Top Golf in Richmond every bit of suspicion I had about the place was gone entirely. It is really not a golf place. Expensive sports bar. I paid a fee to become a member then could not get any reservations until nine at night so I went by. Almost all the golf areas were empty but they said it be 15 minute wait and they ushered me to the bar. After 20 mins I got a text asking me if I was ready to practice. I texted back yes another five minutes later I got a text asking me whether I needed to close at my bar tab first or want another drink I texted and said I was ready. After a half hour of this I left still most of the golf slots were empty but they said there was a big bunch of students who are going to be playing but they hadn't arrived yet.. cheesy clientele. Where do I start. Walk-in at 6:45 party of 6 on first floor. We sat down to table. It took over 30 minutes for us to be waited on. The drinks took another 20 minutes to come to the table. It gets better.. in the two hours that we set there, the waitress came to the table ONE time. I decided to stand at the bar for another service of drinks. I was ignored for 15 minutes. When we came in I reserved a booth 217-218-219. The guy said it would be about 45 minutes. An hour went by and I checked on the status. He said about another 20 more minutes. In about 15 minutes my phone went off.I walked up he said your booth is ready go to the third floor. I said why am I going to the third floor. He told me that's where your booth is. I told him I reserved 16 17 and 18 on the second floor. He said there's people reserving the booths online so they get preferential treatment over the people inside the facility. I've been holding back because I was really hoping the management at TopGolf would figure out how to manage this facility. Third time we've shown up. Parking lot empty. Told 15-30 minute wait because only 3rd floor open. We've tried reservations and same ordeal - wait 15-30 minutes and get a bay in the corner. We are avid golfers and try to get in an hour or two every week but no way. We moved here from Phoenix and rarely has to wait at a packed facility. They kept every floor open year round. To top it off, I ask who was managing the place and they said 'we have lots of managers' no wonder they have issues! read more

So much fun. Our 10 and 12 year olds had never been to a driving range, and having the trackers give us points made learning even more fun. Good service , drinks, and snacks. We all need a fun experience once and awhile...and Topgolf is the perfect one! In my case, my friend surprised me with a trip here on a mundane Monday. When I arrived I felt a mix of excitement and intimidation because 1. I don't play golf! 2. It looks like a fancy Vegas hotel. You're greeted in the lobby by a bunch of staff ready to answer any questions you might have. There are three floors to this place, and my friend insisted we choose the third floor. They had him sign in before we could go, but they assigned us a number and up we went. I think we both became life time members because it only costs five dollars. I really loved how there were lots of staff on the third floor, and almost immediately an employee introduced herself and said she would be serving us during our time here. She was extremely hospitable! We were asked if we wanted any alcoholic beverages or food. The area was heated and had a couch, so it felt super bougie. Once you are settled, you can choose to play several games with your partner (s). For example, my friend and I chose to play one where you hit to the closest color, red twice, then you move on to green twice, then yellow, the furthest away. You have a lot of different golf clubs to choose from as well. I order some kind of pineapple rum drink and it was unexpectedly delicious. I seriously felt like I was on vacation. We played for an hour and a half or so...I don't know the exact cost because my friend played. They also have upbeat music playing to keep you on your game. Since I don't play golf, our attendant showed me the proper form and once she did that I beat my friend! :) I can't wait to go back! They offer some great specials if you can go during the day and during the week. We took the opportunity to do a date date here and it wasn't crowded and service was quick. I've been a fan on Top Golf since I first played in Texas. I was so excited to see it come to RVA! Planned a social hour for work here recently and everyone had fun (many it was their first time!). Gabe was great when we checked in to give everyone a tutorial of how to use the computer and equipment. Wish they offered just a "game" to compete to see who can drive the ball the farthest or the fastest! Food is mediocre... we couldn't finish our guacamole because there were two large pieces of unripened avocado that even a knife couldn't cut through. And everyone crushes guac so sad face on that. Also, why do they only have high top tables? I loved how Texas Topgolf had outdoor couches and lounge chairs.. way more comfortable. Maybe add a few cubbies for purses or something, it's hard to hang then from the high top chairs. Still a fun spot to go with friends. read more

Truly this experience was frustrating. I understand things are different but for the cost I wouldn't say it is worth it. Our waitress was great but you could tell she was over worked and the over all system was just poor. You can not purchase food or drinks with out having a booth and the wait was over an hour. My boyfriend and I checked out Topgolf October 10th and had a blast! When we first got there, we checked in, got our bay and headed up. When we got to our bay, it was still occupied by a group closing out. We were immediately greeted by staff and took a seat at a table near by to wait for them to finish up. The manager, Jaylin, spoke to us and apologized for the hold up. We continued to wait. The group took a little longer than expected and the staff worked to get us a new bay. While waiting was no big deal for us really, Jaylin and his staff went out of their way to make it up to us and ensure we were taken care of. We initially was told a 35- 40 min wait, after a hour passed I asked the customer service rep what was our ETA. she then stated " well we had reservations come in and they were priority?! I had high expectations coming into the RVA location of TopGolf, but boy they definitely were not met. When coming into the building the two front desk attendants were amazing and helped us to our bay! Our server did not greet us until 20 minutes after we sat down at our bay. If I had not been to a place like this before I would have never figured out how to use the tablet or rules. No one told us any directions or guidances on how to play. The food is okay. Be very wary of a Platinum Membership. What you see on the website (or what you are told at the facility) is NOT what you get. The technology is the worst. It is nearly impossible to register for a preferred bay time. They have gotten my phone number wrong in the system and apparently cannot delete it - wastes LOTS of time trying to get checked in on a bay. It took over a half dozen emails and twice an hour at the facility to get registered properly for a month long platinum membership. Phone support has not been able to "renew" my membership for a month. Agents on the phone or by email are virtually non-responsive. When they are responsive, they do not provide information requested, if they even get back to you. After multiple tries, the additional person on my membership still has not had two memberships in the system combined and it causes problems each time we try to play. I used to give Top Golf Richmond high ratings, but they have gone way downhill and made it more of a frustrating experience with the lack of problem resolution than the time to try to get problems resolved it worth it. read more

Call in advance. Make sure you ask if they have your booth, ask if it is reserved for an event. I have been there 3 times and all 3 times I have been moved for events and reserved events. Most of the staff has no idea how to close out your booth to move you. This last time I was moved for an event coming in almost 2 hours later.
