Top Surface installed new granite kitchen countertops for me. Shannon was always available to answer questions and hand-hold with patience and professionalism. Overall, my experience with Top Surface was positive and my countertops are beautiful. Also, the price was right. They'll work with you if you're on a budget, like I was. The only negative thing I have to say has to do with the demo. To be fair to Top Surface, my cabinets were old and had some water damage. Top Surface was aware of this fact, and somehow during either demo or installation, the seams expanded and it looked like a shim was added. Top Surface offered to take a look and help me repair any damages, but I had painters already on the ground who fixed the problem. Also, I'd advise that you find your own plumber to do the reinstall. Other than that, I can recommend Top Surface. They're a good bunch. Especially liked Edgar and his crew who installed the countertops. read more

Very pleased with their work! They removed an old sink, cut the countertop further to install a bigger one along with new garbage disposal, fixtures and hooked up all the plumbing. The work was very professional, efficient and they consulted with me on any decisions that needed to be made and explained what I needed to know about the new setup very courteously. Top Surface came to the rescue for me after a nightmare experience with Legacy Granite who abandoned the job after the pieces they tried to install did not fit. Top Surface made accurate templates for all of the vanity countertops like any reputable granite company I have worked with in the past usually does so there was no error with the granite pieces fitting. Unlike Legacy Granite. They also came back with a very fair and reasonable estimate to install 4 granite countertops in 3 bathrooms. I was able to go to one of their granite vendors on their list and hand select a perfect granite slab from a beautiful granite showroom, and the best part was that I would only pay for what was used for the installations. I was able to choose what areas of the granite I wanted for each batroom with the template they made, just like I have done with all of the more reputable granite installation companies I have worked with in the past. Everything went like clockwork after that and the installation turned out absolutely perfect and beautiful. Yesterday my 8 foot granite vanity countertop was installed in my upstairs masterbath room. The installers were very nice and curteous, removing their shoes as they entered my home. They used a vacuum to suck up granite dust as they were fine tuning the slab for the install. Trust me you want a company that does this. I have experience with a different company that did not do this and I still have stone dust stuck to my garage door and on my driveway. It took three guys to bring it upstairs, but as I watched the sweat on their brow while laboring to get it up the staircase and maneuver it around to fit through my 24 inch doorway, I couldn't help thinking they could have used one more guy. I videotaped them installing the slab, being ever so careful and breathless from the shear weight of the slab. Very well done. I have the utmost respect for anyone who does this on a daily basis. These guys were great in every respect. The slab I decided to purchase was a remnant with flaws. I stressed myself out so much about it and I probably stressed the staff at Top Surface as well. I am very pleased with how they were able to minimize the stress fracture. I mean what stress fracture...seriously almost invisible. The only reason I did not give a score of 5 is because this remnant piece cost around $300 more than another remnant piece that they gave me a bid on a few months earlier. My project wasn't ready at that time so I passed up on that remnant. I did not understand why their remnant pricing changed in such a short time. It was explained to me that the first remnant was one they had onsite already ...thus the great price. The second remnant had to be purchased from a granite yard down the street for a higher price. That makes sense. All in all the new price was still $400 to $600 less than other granite yards were selling their remnant pieces for. If you are looking for a good deal on remnants check out what they have onsite and if you find something that will work, they have the best prices on remnants than any other granite business I called and I called about a dozen. The granite they installed in my bathroom was chipped, uneven and unpolished when they finished the job. I had them come back and clean it up and they acted like they were doing me a favor. I had a good experience with Top Surface the two times I've used them. Great price and install on time. The only thing I was disappointed in was the finish of chalking around the bathroom countertops. I know they would come back to correct it, but I'm a handyman and previous carpenter so it's just easier to do myself. Overall though...they do good work! I'd use them again for sure! My contractor recommended them to me. At first, the communication was good. They were responsive to calls and emails. The price they quoted was good, a couple hundred less than my usual guy. They told me from payment to completion would be about 10-14 days. I'm a flipper so timeline is very important. I would have gone with me regular guy if they even hinted it would be longer than 2 weeks. I paid them at the end of November in full. The job was complete in the 1st week of January. All told about 5-6 weeks from payment to finished job. After payment, they stopped returning calls and rarely responded to emails. If they picked up the phone, this was the only communication I got, and they never had a straight answer or followed up with me as they said they would. They were quick to offer excuses like they were in process of moving their shop, and it was the holidays. The quality of the work was fine. I had to have them come back out to polish the counters and finish drilling a hole they only did half way. read more

Top Surface is extremely professional and does the job right. Shannon found gorgeous slabs for me that were the best I'd seen after searching for three months at many granite yards and quarries. I'm very choosy but was on a super tight budget. I also research exhaustively. Their cost was better than all the other legitimate fabricators and even better than some individuals. We had rain delays as I expected because you simply can't move granite in the rain. Kevin measured the template himself and the fit was perfect. When they delivered, their crew was fast, helpful and courteous but most importantly - experienced. They made it look easy. I had a problem on my end the morning of delivery and Shannon sent Josh out to resolve it very quickly. She rescued me. Shannon has great decorating ideas which helped me make my sink and tile selections. After our initial chat, I changed several choices and I'm so grateful for her input. I think the combo of Shannon and Kevin make this a niche boutique shop that's very hard to find at an affordable price. Designers generally come at a premium but the two of them work super fast with that level of service. They work on a waiting list so prepare to wait 1-3 weeks. Mine took extra time due to weeks of rainy days. I don't consider that a negative because the worst place has no wait list. Very pleased and relieved! Oh, I think the cutting board and lazy Susan are great deals to add to your kitchen. The cutting board with the cute feet is so nice!! read more

We went with them based on recommendation and cost. Couldn't get out of it after they screwed our order. These folks are installers, unfortunately their ability to finish to a polished look is crap. Don't expect craftsmanship: Caulking is uneven throughout; holes in places, edges are crap. The only thing that looks good is a granite. Not only had to spend more than their original bid (which they revised bc they miscalculated the square footage) but now have to hire someone else to clean up the seams. read more

The last update.... We have reached a great resolution. Top Surface has fixed the problem and we are very happy. Working with Kevan was great. He owned up to the problem and got it fixed. I wish this had happened from the start, everyone would have been happier. Update I am happy to report we are in the process of resolving this issue. I will update this review. It pains me to write such a horrible review. I thought the people of Top Surface were nice and actually cared about treating their customers correctly, but it appears I was wrong. I used Top Surface for granite in my last house and recently on my current house. I got several bids and they had the best price that I could find. There were some issues with the installation due to the cabinet company doing a poor job. They went way beyond their obligations and actually fixed the cabinet company's screw ups to make the counter tops fit correctly. They did my kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room and they all turned out better than I expected. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I used Top Surface to completely refinish the two bathrooms in my house. Both bathrooms had the original 50 year old tile in the tub surround, full shower enclosure, floors, counter tops and four feet up all of the walls. The tile was was so old and dull that it couldn't even be cleaned anymore as the smooth surface was worn off. One bathroom was pastel pink and the other pastel yellow. Though some people like that retro charm, my tile just looked dirty and extremely dated. This is a rent house and I seriously considered completely updating the bathrooms as the rest of the house has been updated but I couldn't justify the cost. The bathrooms are now shiny and bright white. They look brand new, my tenants are ecstatic and I will definitely be able to get more rent when the lease renews as the bathrooms were the big drawback to the house. All this at a FRACTION of what it would have cost to replace all of the tile! To top it off, Top Surface worked around my tenants being out of town, even working through the weekend to be sure the job would be finished before my tenants returned. I have also used Top Surface for granite counter tops in my house that I live in. I was hesitant about installing granite as it can sometimes look a bit dated to me. Shannon showed me some of the more exotic stone that was perfect for me but that was out of my price range. Shannon knew that there would be some left over from a bigger job and was able to sell me the exotic remnants at a reduced price. Everyone who has seen my counter tops says they are the best granite they've ever seen and seven months later I am still happy every time I look at them. The only drawback is I can no longer keep anything on my counters or island because I don't want to hide any of the stone! Even if you think you can't afford it, I recommend you go to the showroom and talk to Shannon to see what they have in stock. You just might be surprised by what kind of deal you are able to make. read more

Top Surface made two small countertops (52x22) for us. They were initially very easy to deal with, but they repeatedly failed to return phone calls. The gave us two dates, one for measuring and one for installation, with promises to call the day before each date to set up a time window. They didn't call on either day and did not return my calls. They were to call on Thursday before the Friday installation date. They did not call on Thursday and when I reached them late Thursday they said our job would be the first out on Friday and gave us a 8-12 window. I did not hear from them until I finally reached them at 3:30. They said they were on the way, but by then we couldn't fit them in because of a prior commitment. We could not accommodate them on Monday and they came on Tuesday. Fortunately they had not cut the sink opening before the installers came, because they were getting ready to cut it in the wrong place despite my face-to- face instructions with the measurer on how to center the opening. We got that corrected in time. The sink counter was shop-cut about an inch too short (not really a problem except the overhangs do not match the front) The installation itself went fine and the finished products look great. However, the aggravations mentioned above mean we won't be using them again. read more

Topsurface installed granite in my kitchen. I had to remove it due to the poor quality and the granite discolored. When I tried to get my money back the owners filed bankruptcy. They then reopened using the same name. They took 4200 dollars and never looked back. They also owed others and used the courts to remove their debts. Stay away from this company. They remodeled my shower and when the shows bottom started leaking, which took a long time to show signs by warped trim, these guys wouldn't return phone calls and made excuses to put me off. I hired another company to repair it and they said the shower drain was never sealed and that was what caused the damage. read more

I have now used these pros on three separate projects. All remnants used for bathroom counter top replacement or for a bar top. Their products are good quality, they provide great customer service, and they are reliable for a quality job done timely. Never again. We contracted with Top Surface to do our kitchen counters about 5+ years ago at the recommendation of several neighbors. I don't remember there being any issues at the time (other than the standard coordination of contractors) and I've been very pleased with the counters so when we decided to tackle the bathrooms - we didn't even look somewhere else. We went straight over and ordered them with Top Surface without a second thought. All started well - we found what we wanted - and scheduled to have the work done. Of course - as is customary - we paid up front. When it came time for installation - we scheduled a Friday but due to all of the rain that we've had recently - they called and needed to reschedule. Understanding - we chose the following Friday giving them time to make up their backlog. The Wednesday evening before they were scheduled (second time) - my husband and son cleared everything out of the bathrooms - removed the wall mirrors and had the spaces ready. Thursday afternoon they contacted my husband and said they couldn't make Friday and would the following Monday or Tuesday work. He was going to be out of town - so no - but we were willing to wait until the Friday following (3rd one now) if we could be first stop. The scheduler / owner was more than accommodating - said yes and to expect them between 9 and 11 with a 30 minute "we're on our way" call. Awesome...one more week with a little disarray - irritating but not a problem. So another vacation day scheduled and up early that Friday. By 10:30 - no one had contacted us. I sent an email note asking for an ETA and was told that the truck was being loaded up and they were heading our way. At noon - no one had arrived. 12:30 - another email note. At 1:00 I called the office but got the answering machine. I was officially not happy at this point. 1:16 the doorbell rang. The owner asked if we were ready to get started. I replied "Yes... but we were ready at 9:30 and at 10:30 when we were told you were heading our way"... Before I could finish he asked if we were going to have a problem and if so then he could leave with the counters and find someone else to install them for us at a later date. WHAT? That was clearly a threat. Wasn't I the customer? I wasn't rude but I was unhappy. He proceeded to let me know that he remembered having a problem with me when they were doing the kitchen and he wasn't going to put up with that again. Really? Wouldn't I remember that too? Deep breath. Bottom line was that I needed my counters and he knew it. I said there would be no further issue and he could get started in either of the bathrooms. He shut me down and shut me up. Suffice it to say. I stepped away and when my husband returned from his Home Depot run - I let him take the lead. The counters look great. Really - that was never a concern. It's why we contracted them in the first place. We had discussed some refinishing work on the showers and tubs when we were being measured for the counters but Top Surface will no longer be a consideration. I understand having a bad day - happens to the best of us - but cannot tolerate being treated so poorly as a customer and a person. I will never give them another cent of my hard earned money. Top Surface resurfaced the old funky salmon colored tile and the tub in my house built in 1958. They did an excellent job. They not only completed the tile but they also fit in a color change for me after the job was scheduled. I initially just decided on all white but then decided on white with the top tile black. I knew it was more work but they got it done very quickly , it looks great and the price was awesome compared to re-tiling. A few weeks later I ended up getting the walls around the tile replaced too and that contractor was a hot mess. He jacked up the resurfaced tiles badly and he did it less than 3 days from my putting the house on the market. Kevan came to the rescue!! He came out and resurfaced the black tile that the other contractor had jacked up so badly and he did it after hours so I can put my house in the market tomorrow. All through the job he and his staff have been professional yet fun and totally courteous and the best part - they really know what they are doing!! I had done business with this company about 5 years ago at the recommendation of our custom cabinet builder. Top Surface installed our granite counters and glass tile back splash and I was very happy with their work. We recently did a much smaller update to the kitchen and needed to match the counters and repair the back splash in that area only. I thought getting the counter would be the easiest part of the project, since I had worked with this company before. It took about a month to contact someone, get a quote, have someone come measure and assess the scope of the job, etc. The first 2 appointments for the measure, I was stood up. The guy finally came and was in and out in 5 minutes and got the same measurement I told them on the phone. He also said they could do the backsplash repair while they were here. The work was scheduled for 2 weeks later. On the day the job was to be done, I had not heard from Top Surface (they never initiated contact with me, always me calling them) so I called to see if we were still on. Yes I was assured that they would be there, this was about 3 pm on a Friday. At 7:30 that night, I got a call saying their installer had injured himself and would have to make it another day! When would I like to have that counter top installed? I said as soon as possible, so we rescheduled for Monday. Monday afternoon I got a call from Top Surface, they had to let one of their installers go because he was too unreliable (I wonder who that was?) so they had to reschedule the job for the next day. So finally a month or more into this, the installers show up and are ready to slap that granite into place without checking that it will look right and btw they don't speak English. My husband and I speak a little Spanish and were able to slow them down and show them what we were concerned about. They glued it down but not before they broke a piece of trim because they used a crow bar to remove it and borrowed a couple of my husbands power tools to "fix" the areas. The granite matches, but the edges are not nearly as smooth and shiny as the original. The trim they jimmied off, broke and glued back together looks awful. They also said no to fixing the back splash. They were here for less than an hour and I am not happy about the whole experience with this company. I was even less satisfied because no one at Top Surface ever called to follow up with me about the install and work done. Maybe they knew I was P****d! I still need work done in the kitchen, but will never do business with this company again. read more
