    Soy marinated raw crab
    Jemi A.

Came here for a friend's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the authentic food here. The soy marinated raw crab was fresh and excellent. 5/5 stars! The short rib was also excellent. It was tender, but not fatty. Nice balance in the marinade. 5/5 The squid bbq was also excellent. Sometimes, squid can be tough and rubbery, but not the squid here! It was actually quite tender and flavorful as well. 5/5 stars The monkfish soup was also excellent, with generous chunks of fish. 5/5 You order from a QR code linked to your table. Very convenient and easy. Other notables: Price was reasonable for authentic Korean food. Plenty of parking. Cozy restaurant space with less than 10 tables. This is not a fine dining restaurant, but more reminiscent of your grandma's kitchen. I'm definitely gonna come back and bring my mom here. She will love it.

Top Sot Korean Restaurant Buena Park We got : (Combo) Korean SHORT RIBS+Pot Rice +Soybean Paste Soup -the rice pot was pretty good size, so filling I was so full and this was great with my raw crab! The short ribs were a mix of fatty and lean meats, there was A LOT OF veggies provided to wrap the meat in, which was fantastic surprise. The soybean paste soup was full of strong savory bean flavor. SOY SAUCE MARINATED CRAB TWO WHOLE CRAB : definitely super fresh, not overly salty, and high quality ! I just wish it was bigger portion for the price but I think the quality of items at this restaurant is what you are getting with a lot of unique side dishes too! The rice cold drink at the end for dessert was cherry on top. Good service, I actually liked that the bathroom is outside , lots of parking in the plaza , chill vibe not noisy. 9/10 for me. Top Sot is a relatively new spot in Buena Park, located on a busy street, so I often pass this location. Since it's relatively new, I don't think many people know about it because when I went on a Saturday evening, we were quickly seated with only one other party in the restaurant. I liked that their banchan is different from most places - offering fried eggplant and a citrus vinagrette salad. Since it was later in the evening, the restaurant was quiet and service was attentive. My partner and I shared the gal I combo which came with the fresh veggies, soup, and rice. This was plenty of food for us and we left satisfied.

Parking is pretty decent in this plaza. This place is known for its same which are like veggie wraps. I got the squid with ssam which was great. They give a lot of refreshing side dishes which just go so well with the meal. You order on your phone but service was quick and easy. They also end your meal with some refreshing shik hye! Im excited to come back here :)!

Want a tasty and elevated Korean restaurant experience? Look no further than Top Sot! Although Sot Bap is not a new concept, Top Sot elevates your experience with a pleasant dining atmosphere and genuine quality you can taste. No matter what age you are, what type of cultural background you come from, you will have no complaints. All the side dishes were seasoned and fermented to perfection! The level of detail the owner put into all the ingredients, collectively amplified my experience. Unfortunaly, I have been to many restaurants where the vegetable quality, freshness, and cleanliness were very questionable. This led me to be more cautious when visiting restaurants. At Top Sot, the quality, freshness, and cleanliness were undeniable. Again, the attention to small details made my meal momentiously more enjoyable. Although I want to recommend one specific dish for you all to try, I literally cannot choose. I am eagerly looking forward to the next day I can enjoy a meal at Top Sot. If you have read this far, what are you waiting for? Head to Top Sot right now!!

The 2 that came with the soba (I was surprised that there was bulgolgi pieces inside, usually it's just rice and some cut up veggies)

My mom introduced me to this place and I'm so glad she did because this place was the highlight of my month. My mom ordered in Korean so I'll tell you from the best of my knowledge. I got their Soba and it's now my favorite spot to get soba; soba tasted fresh and taste was super spot on for me. The soba came with 2 sides (idk the name of it). My mom got their spicy pork bulgolgi and doenjang jigae (stew). Honestly I can't tell you much of the names, my only job was to eat, enjoy, and pay. Everything tasted great but the jigae (stew) was just okay for the both of us. All the side dishes were delicious as well especially their deep fried eggplant. The place was clean, welcoming, and very family friendly vibe. Utensils and napkins are self-serve inside every table which was cool. I'll definitely be back!

Already looking for a place to detox after your Thanksgiving feast? Check out Top Pot -- a healthy Korean spot that's light, balanced, and satisfying. My favorite is their ssam bap set: wrap your meat with fresh veggies, served with warm pot rice, protein, and unique sides like fried eggplant with miso and soybean paste soup. For just $28, it's enough for two. We also ordered noodles and beef soup for the table. Everything is light on the stomach but still delicious, filling, and nutritious. Ig: socalhkfoodies

I love this spot. Makes me feel like I'm eating at my Korean homies house. Like their mom is introducing me to Korean food for the first time and I'm marveling at how much effort and love is put into the food. We got the cheesy chicken where they torch it at the table with veggies to wrap it in. I love eating like this because you get to make your own perfect bites. Their samjang or soybean paste is one the best I've had from any Korean restaurant. The banchan side dishes were so fresh and not the typical that you'd get at other spots. We got their raw marinated crab and spicy short rib soup too. Both were amazing. Buena Park is known for Korean food but this spot is on the outskirts so it's almost out of place and it might not get the attention it deserves. Definitely a must try!

$31 for one ssamjang wrap + protein dish Brought me back to Korea and worth the potential choking hazard making assorted lettuce wraps! If two people order, one ssamjang meal with protein and a non ssamjang meal, such as the donkatsu or fried flounder, that's totally enough food for both. You will likely have leftovers. They don't allow you to bring back the ssamjang or banchan, guess you gotta keep coming back lol YUMMY Banchan goes hard here cilantro with tomatoes - bomb Okra? With sesame seeds - great flavor Fresh ssamjang reminds me of Korea!!! Doenjang jjigae smells very strong, but when you eat it with rice is really yummy! Good Green onion kimchi - maybe a teensy fermented for me Deep fried eggplant - I love eggplant , but wish the batter outside was lighter Squid bulgogi was a bit chewy, but it wasn't too sweet, spicy, or salty. Shall try the chicken next time! Spicy squid banchan - fine Making the lettuce wraps with a variation of the banchan and a small scoop of rice with their ssamjang is DELISH. Mouth doesn't get bored and it's fun to experiment with flavors. Rice comes out in a metal pot and the kind server scooped the rice and put in hot barley tea so the scorched rice can be eaten later! I realize it's also not my cup of tea lol They give you frozen shikhye after the yummy meal The place is not that large, I had to wait 10 min for a table at 1pm on Sunday.

육회비빔밥 BEEF TARTARE AND VEGETABLES MIXED RICE
    Annie K.

Everything about this place is amazing, from the golden bowls to the little rice pot that turns into nurungji (burnt rice porridge) at the end. I ordered the beef tartare bibimbap and it was so fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The beef was tender, the veggies crisp, and once you mix it all together it's pure perfection. Every side dish tasted homemade and full of flavor. Service was great, super friendly and attentive. They even gave me a sikhye (Korean dessert drink) at the end, which was such a nice surprise. And there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus. This place makes you feel fancy but totally comfortable at the same time. If you love Korean food or want to try something new, you have to come here.

    Banchan and ssamjang

They've been open 3 months! TLDR; Modern interior, efficient service, great banchan, fresh veggies, soups a little salty, slightly pricey. Side dishes (5/5): They have very unique and fresh side dishes that you don't see at most other restaurants! Probably my favorite part of the meal. My favs: Soy sesame pickled celery was sweet and savory. Cilantro kimchi with tomato was sweet and refreshing. Fried eggplant was lightly battered and eggplant was super soft. Kind of like a tempura. Ssambap (4/5): Good variety of greens that were super fresh. Wish we got a few more perilla leaves. Ssamjang was very good- super subtle, nutty, and had bits of almonds and walnuts inside. We got bulgogi and squid. Flavor was decent, but portions were slightly underwhelming. The pictures make it seem like more. Doenjang jjigae was way too salty. The rice had the perfect chew. They make it crispy so you can add hot water at the end and turn it into a soup. Definitely tasty and worth trying, but not sure if it was worth the price. Pork cutlet (3.5/5): The sauce was pretty unique, but everything else was pretty standard. They definitely hammer down the pork real thin. Beef and radish soup (3/5): There were maybe 4 large chunks of beef. A little bit of glass noodles. The flavor was meh. It was also way too salty. We actually didn't finish it. Wouldn't get again. Seafood noodle (4/5): The noodle portion of this was actually a lot. Probably enough to split into 7 small bowls, each bowl having maybe 3 little pieces of seafood. There's mostly clam, squid, shrimp, and zucchini. The soup was very thick but not overly salty. Service (4/5): All the utensils and stuff are in the table drawer and you order from your phone. The side dishes came out pretty quickly. I would say the service is pretty "Asian" in that they're very efficient and constantly scanning, but there's not much interaction otherwise unless you ask for something specific. I assume you might get better service if you're actually Korean. For 6 adults, we were all pretty satisfied. Total came to about $150 before tax and tip. Parking was a breeze since the lot isn't busy. Bathrooms are single stall outside and need a code. No changing table. They have high chairs and there were quite a few families in the early evening and it's pretty clean.

Top Sot is a new Korean gem that takes rice seriously. Each portion is cooked in its own little pressure pot, and you can taste the care in every bite. We arrived just before the dinner rush and were seated right away. The dining area was run by a team of cheerful staff members who kept everything moving smoothly and even brought out a chilled pitcher of water before we could ask. We ordered the pork bulgogi and short rib sets, and both were fantastic. The meat was tender, juicy, and not greasy at all. The banchan spread was amazing, with each side having its own flavor personality. The onion and cilantro mix with yuzu sauce completely stole the show. Fresh, crisp veggies, a rich nutty dip, and free banchan refills (they even refilled before we asked) sealed the deal. The vibe was lively and a little loud, but in a good way. It was full of energy while still comfortable enough to have a conversation. Food gets a 4.5 out of 5, service 5 out of 5, and ambiance 4 out of 5. We are already planning our next visit to try their specialty rice dishes.

Great spot for authentic and comforting Korean home-style meals, Their signature set menu features pressure-cooked pot rice, seasonal wraps, sizzling grilled meats, and soybean paste stew. I also tried Galibtang, a beef short ribs soup that had been simmered for hours, resulting in the most flavorful broth. After finishing the pot rice, pour hot water into the leftover nurungji to create a nutty, roasted rice infusion to end your perfect meal.
