This place is wonderful. It's one of my Husband's favorite donut shops. They have excellent branding, great coffee, excellent donuts. But they are so incredibly expensive! You can get their donuts much cheaper at QFC but then you lack the experience, which is a bummer. My review is rated for stars for high cost. Their staff members are usually decent, but it has a high turnover rate so you never know exactly what you get. I needed to hang around this area for about 30 min this morning so I remember there being a Top Pot nearby and I went there. I had a Raspberry old fashioned and a drip coffee in the small eating area. Nice guy and gal staffing the place but the place really wasn't too busy. Maybe it's the time I went? I ordered 3 donuts and shared them with my friend. Here is my review on each donut. Glazed pumpkin: amazing. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Egg nog: not very egg noggy. A bit stale and fake tasting. Oreo: very heavy. If you're in the mood for just one donut, get this one since you won't be able to eat anymore after haha. So filling! The hot apple cider is great, too but not worth coming here for. The coffee is pretty solid and standard so if you're feeling coffee and a donut, then you're in luck. read more

I came here yesterday on my way home from an appointment and got some sort of raspberry and an apple fritter. The raspberry one was good, but I have never had such a dry apple fritter. Why does this have barely any stars? I go to this Top Pot a lot and they are very nice, considerate and friendly. Its in a really cute space! There is lots of doughnuts there too. Coffee was horrible. I ordered a sugar free vanilla breve. When it was ready it was undrinkable. I added some Splenda and water. Their beans are very over- roasted and taste burnt. There was one person working but I was the only customer, which I should have been my tipoff that the coffee was lousy. It was around 8:30 in the morning and the place was a ghost town. Craving donuts while visiting Kirkland from Texas. I've had Top Pot years ago in downtown Seattle so I'm familiar with the quality and flavors. I don't know about the other bad reviews but these are tasty, hearty and soft donuts! I didn't take a pick of the half dozen we bought because we dug in too fast . I really liked the strawberry glazed yeast donut and the blueberry cake. I actually packed the raspberry chocolate cake and chocolate frosted cake for my trip back and let me tell you they were just as delicious eating the next day! Everyone else has been fine so 5 stars for them but 1 star for one employee, the tall Caucasian man with glasses and unshaven face who blurts/yells during his sentences. I noticed every time it was with him he would charge me extra amounts for the larger size of the coffee than I actually got or 1 donut for the price of 2 donuts. I didn't notice at first since I thought it was maybe just tax but I started to catch on because all the other employees would charge the normal prices. Then I started to mention it and he stopped. YUM! It's dangerous having a doughnut place within walking distance, but I'm so happy this place is finally open! We came in and decided to get a half dozen to take home with us. The guy who served us was really friendly and helpful. It was really hard to only pick six doughnuts so he made some suggestions for what was popular and was very patient with our indecisiveness. The place is obviously very new, but it's also clean and the doughnuts were fresh. I do like that the doughnut case has one of everything in it, and when you pick an doughnut they get a fresh one from the trays on the side. There's also Top Pot merch you can get as well from a little range of options on the side. While we were there, it started bucketing down really crazily, so we decided to stay a few minutes and wait out the storm. The guy who had been serving us was super nice and offered us water while we waited, and also put our doughnut box in a plastic bag so they wouldn't get wet. I'll definitely be back. I came in here for a Sunday morning donut and coffee last week. The staff was very friendly. I rarely eat donuts, but when I do, it's usually a Bavarian cream. That is the crème de la crème of donuts. This one was average, but good. Here comes the disappointing part...wait for it...the coffee. It was 9am and it wasn't very hot. And it also wasn't very good. With a name like Top Pot, I would expect some higher quality Joe. This place wins for proximity to fresh donuts. I'm not sure if any other donut is as satisfying as Top Pot. They are packed with flavor and very dense. Each bite proves how quality they are. I don't understand any of the poor reviews on yelp, but looking more closely they appear to be for the coffee. I would just ignore those reviews as this is definitely an establishment that is focused on donuts as their product and they are doing a darn good job of it. The bavarian cream is so incredible! Each donut was filling and delicious. It isn't your typical donut shop where you can gobble up 2-3 donuts without even being satisfied or content....then you kick yourself that you ate that many donuts in one sitting! We had the bavarian cream, salted caramel old-fashioned, chocolate sprinkled cake, powdered sugar, chocolate on chocolate cake, chocolate glaze, and strawberry sprinkled cake. They were all top notch. We cut them up into little bite-size pieces so we could sample each and every one. We love Top Pot donuts - especially the kid - and this location does not disappoint, with a good selection of fresh, tasty donuts, friendly staff, and a nice hot latte to go alongside. As a coffee guy, I love Top Pot Doughnuts. People are truly nice every shop has nice sweets to eat. The only bummer in Kirkland is the new store hours that closes on 4PM on Saturday. I noticed a few people still there at 3:40, so it might make sense for them to have longer hours. Nice place overall, clean and relatively quiet if you need to power through some work. This location is located near the Kirkland waterfront and provides tasty delights to those that arrive before they run out. There's a variety of places to eat in the area and then you can finish off your meal with a doughnut if you so desire. The problems? Well no dedicated parking for one, you will have to scrounge for a place in the already crowded area due to other shops. Next, they run out of doughnuts. They don't make their own here like other places and so they rely on deliveries to keep them stocked. This means that there are frequently times during the day when well, they're simply out due to tightly managing inventory. Lastly the staff. They're often in the back doing something (I'm not sure what) so you'll get a nice comfortable wait at the counter before someone comes to serve you. Sadly it's the only doughnut shop in the area so you'll have to make do, but don't come here with high expectations. read more

Gets another star. If the doughnuts were just a tad more interesting, I would give this place 5 stars. We've been living here for two weeks but we've already been to this place 3 or 4 times. The kids want the doughnuts. But us adults go for the coffee. Coffee is consistently good. And not just good. Very, very good. Smooth, rich, and strong. What puts it over the edge is the fantastic service as well. On one of our visits, although it was in the evening, they were happy to brew us up fresh coffee. During the latest visit, I bought a bag of ground coffee for home because the coffee was so good. Again, fantastic service. We started discussing coffee with the girl behind the counter who turned out to be a real barrista. I had an unpleasant experience with one person there but after my feedback they all made a honest genuine point to make my trip back pleasant! Top Pot Doughnuts just opened in Juanita Village-Kirkland on Friday. This was for a visit on Sunday late afternoon 10/26/14. For a late Sunday afternoon there was a great selection of fresh doughnuts. I'm sure this has something to do with it being open only three days! Had I stopped in other locations like Seattle's Queen Anne, Ballard, Capitol Hill or Wedgwood at nearly 4pm - good luck if there's any product left! The two front counter staff members looked a bit frazzled, but the barista was full of enthusiasm and clearly loved her job. A squall had gone past earlier, but we managed to enjoy our mochas and doughnuts (glazed pumpkin old fashioned and a Bulleye) outside in the sunshine, as the café was rather full of people. A bit of a splurge with tax and tip a bit under $19. It'll be interesting what happens to the lot between Top Pot and Bank of America. Kind of boring to look at a vacant lot if seated outside. However, I can imagine this being a destination since this is within walking distance to/from nearby Juanita Beach Park. read more

Man, words cannot even describe how ecstatic I was when I saw that Top Pot had finally opened. After months of walking by seeing nothing but construction and locked doors, I was overjoyed to see lights on and people gathering inside. The doughnuts are on par with everything that Top Pot represents. Unfortunately, the woman ringing me up was kind of rude and weirdly aggressive. The case of doughnuts is just tall enough to prevent me from making eye contact with the employees behind the counter. For that reason, I stepped to the side and asked for doughnuts. I see this place kind of like the Seattle obsession with Dicks hamburgers. At least Dicks is cheap enough to understand why so many people go. Top Pot is overpriced for their dry and boring flavors of doughnuts. I've gone to several locations and tried several different menu options, don't plan on going back any time soon. Less than mediocre food and coffee tastes watered down and weak. Grocery store doughnuts are better, and cheaper! Although maybe I am just the odd one out since so many people enjoy it. Can't do coffee yet cause I'm preggs so hot cocoa it was, the hubs and I wanted something warm to drink as we took a walk around the lake and I only got a small cup thinking it was mediocre cocoa!
