If it weren't for the pup treats and friendly service, this would be a 2-star review. The lone barista was super helpful, offered a pup treat when she saw the furry family member, and was genuinely kind. Having not had a Chai tea latte here before, we thought we'd give it a try. It definitely has a spice kick to it which was a nice surprise. Sadly, for this frigid day with temps in the high teens, the drink wasn't hot enough to warm up the walk back to the ferry line. It was like the temp you would want a toddler hot chocolate to be. We also got donuts, all good there except for the apple fritter, which was still stretchy-doughy on the inside. Definitely sad, cold, and crossing my don't get sick from the raw dough. The doggo had zero complaints about his treat though!

I adventured to the Top Pot Doughnuts in Edmonds (at/near the Edmonds Ferry Terminal) for the first time on the morning of Thursday 23 March 2023. Shopping complex parking was abundant to the side and back of the building. Approaching the entrance on foot, a group of older men were standing and sitting around the door inside the entrance. They gave me a puzzled look when I reached for the front door and after opening and entering, one standing in the walkway would not move, so I just went around, they were not exactly the best exhibitors of mindfulness. The workers on the other hand were considerate and alert. As I scoped out the donuts, one worker waited, ready to get the specified donut(s). I ended up going with three, the maple frosted chocolate cake donut, a raspberry bismark, and a seasonal cherry fritter. The cashier worker was friendly and payment hassle-free. My bill came to $9.23, I paid cash. The stairway to an upstairs library area with seating was easy to find, so I decided to sit and try each of the donuts. A fellow customer came and set up a computer monitor to work at a table behind me as I ate. The cake donut was on the denser side, though not too heavy, and the maple frosting paired well. The cherry fritter was well cooked and had a subtle cherry flavor. For the raspberry bismark, the filling was very potent in raspberry flavor and the donut itself was light and fluffy to the point of airy in a good way. After eating about half of each donut, I made my way back to my car where I finished the cherry fritter and cake donut. I finished the raspberry bismark once I got back to the house, approximately a 10 minute drive.

I have always been a fan of Top Pot doughnuts. My first experience was at the Seattle location on the 35th ave. Their doughnuts were consistently delicious and a box of dozen doughnuts from Top Pot was always a welcome gift for whatever the occasion. I was elated to see it open in Edmonds waterfront. Earning bonus points from my kids is easy on a weekend by grabbing a dozen doughnuts from Top Pot for the fam. Maple bar, Bavarian cream, and various flavors are never overdone or overpowering. They are certainly not the best doughnut place and there are amazing bakeries out there with premium prices. Top Pot remains one of our favorites for being so accessible, consistently delicious, friendly service, and family friendly atmosphere.

Sometimes, not always, I ask myself, "Self? Where does a guy like you go to get a good doughnut?" Top Pot, just steps from the Edmonds Train station, is worth the triple jump over there. That is where "self" now goes to get a good doughnut. I had a doughnut that that an Oreo cookie smashed up all over it. It was moist and fresh and light and did I mention moist? At about $3 these mini river rafts for your mouth can do yours. They should too. I also grabbed a "double double (chocolate)" and a "maple traditional doughnut." They were all so good. I will be back there. This place is not a secret. There is a line often out the door. Yet, it's worth it.

Delicious donuts and friendly service! My boyfriend and I were excited to find a lovely donut shop before hopping on the ferry . The staff were welcoming and kind, and the donuts were lovely! I loved the ambiance of the shop and the upstairs area is very quaint and serene!

When planning out where to go during my first trip to Seattle, a friend told me I had to try the Maple Bar at Top Pot. We stumbled upon this location while waiting for the ferry, so immediately decided this was our chance to try the highly-recommended doughnut. It didn't disappoint. My sister and i decided to get two doughnuts and split them. The Maple Bar was light, fluffy yeast with a tasty maple icing. We also got a a Cherry Cake Doughnut with Cherry Glaze. I love cherries, and this one was nice but a little artificial tasting. The Maple Bar was definitely the star. I'd love to try some of the other varieties - so many tasty options!

I love the Top Pot, all location. Today was no, well almost no exception. Yes, the coffee and doughnuts were top notch. So, What went wrong at the Top Pot Edmonds waterfront? 1. The staff had virtually no personality, and when they did, it was a little rude. 2. The garbage cans were overflowing. No excuse because it seamed like a slow, Sunday afternoon. Will I be back, well, I have to because it is Top Pot and I love their doughnuts. Do I recommend? Yes, if you want great coffee drinks and amazing doughnuts. Do not go there if you want sociable staff.

Thai iced coffee was yummy and solid, strong, and not too sweet. Orange cream glazed ring.... Jaw- dropping. Never had anything like it.

Don't bother with the "gluten light" options. The scone was bland and dry. surely they can do better?!

One for a free pastry next visit and after we used that they gave a coupon for a free bread loaf the next visit. I'm not sure if it's because something changed on the side of the bakery (maybe recipe or personnel changes?) or on my side, having tried more bakeries around the area. On our last visit we bought two loaves of bread to accompany a butter tasting. Both loaves I found to be not nearly as high quality as I remember previously. Pane Bello ($9) - The crust basically doesn't exist in this bread. It's soft and leathery and doesn't give that satisfying crispness of a well baked bread. The interior, while having good crumb structure, is particularly dry and almost crumbly. The taste is mild, perfect for pairing with higher end butters. (3/5) Parmesan Black Pepper Sourdough ($9) - This batard has similar texture as compared to the Pane Bello. It has the addition of plenty of black pepper baked inside, spaced out rather evenly, allowing a peppery bite every time. There's salty and fatty parmesan baked on top, giving a caramelized salty umami. It definitely has more flavor than the Pane Bello, but suffers from the same textural issues. (3/5) We purchased both loaves at 10AM on a Sunday morning and they were consumed within 2.5 hours, so I don't think it's an issue with storage. I ate a bit of their regular foccacia at a work event too. It has a good crispy exterior and is salted well on the top. Unfortunately the interior isn't the best, having a really dense, chewy crumb. I'm honestly not sure what happened. I really loved The Cottage when I first moved here 1.5 years ago. Now? I have a number of bakeries I'd choose over here in a heartbeat.

Besides the treats, they have a solid selection of coffee and milk teas. The interior is spacious, and the staff is both quick and friendly.

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with cozy vibes. They have a lot of different coffee and pastries. We got a variety of pastries to try. First was the cinnamon roll, we had it warmed up at home and it still tasted super fresh and delicious. The M&M's cookie was huge, not too sweet, perfectly soft and crunchy. The other pastries we had was raspberry croissant, and a muffin, all tasted pretty good. I think all their pastries are fresh, delicious, and not that sweet compared to other bakeries. I highly recommend getting their cinnamon roll. This cafe is perfect for the all seasons especially summer if you want to sit outside and enjoy the view of downtown Edmonds. They have plenty of seatings inside and outdoor. Parking is limited since it's downtown Edmonds so it's a bit challenging but it's worth it because you get to enjoy fresh pastries and you can also have a nice walk down to the beautiful town and beach after.
