I was 500 miles BELOW the level that was on my sticker indicating it was time for an oil change, and one MONTH before the date. Like a fool, I went back to the same place, thinking they could tell me what happened. They told me nothing was wrong and that maybe my vehicle just uses oil faster because it's older. When I got suspicious is when they said they could just top off the oil, but they'd had to charge me for it. Ah! Now I get it! They didn't fully fill the oil last time, which is why I was in need of additional oil WAY earlier than should have been necessary. In addition to this, the wait was over an hour...in the middle of the day...on a weekday. The only reason people are paying premium prices here is for FAST service. If it's not going to be fast, then what is the point?

Found it in an obscure location at the rear of the complex. But here's the kicker: opened my car only to find all of my glovebox contents strewn all over the front seat. I've never seen anything like it. If they were that careless with taking care of my stuff, I don't have much confidence in how they treat the parts of the car that I can't see. Not long afterward, my son kept asking me why I hadn't had the oil leak repaired. I repeatedly told him that I had--that was the entire reason I took the car to Firestone in the first place. He insisted the leak was still there. Because of my busy schedule and frequent travel, I wasn't able to return right away. Once I got back, I called the store and was told to bring the car in so they could inspect it. After looking at it, I was informed that the problem involved a gasket that had previously been replaced. Since it was under warranty, they said they would replace it at no charge. When I picked up my vehicle, an employee then told me the leak might actually be coming from behind the transmission--a repair that would cost a significant amount of money. To make matters worse, I was told that no one at that location could perform the repair, and the only technician who might have been able to help had already left for the day. At that point, I was beyond frustrated. I took my keys and left. I then took my car to another mechanic. His first question was, "What exactly did you pay Firestone for?" He was shocked when I told him I had spent over $1,700, especially since the original oil leak had clearly not been properly diagnosed or repaired. Since then, I've repeatedly tried to resolve this issue. I've called the local store and have gotten nothing but the runaround. I've contacted Firestone's corporate office four separate times and was repeatedly told that the regional manager would call me back. I'm still waiting.
