Paid for my niece to get her nails done for her birthday and received a call from her crying because they were done so poorly and she wasn't sure what to do. Like a lot of people it's awkward to confront a poorly done beauty service, especially when you are a preteen. After explaining to her those absolutely don't look like the reference photo she should go back and ask for the tips to be fixed and any reputable place should understand. When she went back to ask if they could be fixed she was told she would get ten dollars off but otherwise pay for them to be fixed, I'm including what they look like with her reference photo. Absolute joke that a nail technician could not see the issues with the french tip or that they thought they could bully a pre-teen into paying more money for subpar work. I have been here several times in 2021 and I really like it. I typically get a pedicure with regular nail polish once a month, and a gel manicure every 2 weeks. This is not a high end salon, so as long as your expectations aren't looking for "posh", and you're just looking to be happy with your nails, this is the place. I had gotten to a point where I just hated doing own manicure, and Top Nails with Jennifer is where I feel comfortable returning week after week. My original appointment was a little hard to set - I remember I had to call on at least 2 different days before someone picked up. So now I just make my return appointment while I'm there in the salon. Run Away . Poor customer service and hygiene. Go somewhere else! I stopped in here with my fingernails buffed and clean. I had been to a salon the day before but ran out of time for them to complete the polish application. I paid them because they were great and it was my own fault for having such limited time. Now I entered Top Nails and asked for just a polish application. I was told "sure, sit down ". Then I was given a nail buffer and told it would be $10. I said that I just needed an application, my nails were buffed. "You already bought from me then?" I said no, but I don't need to buy a buffer, my nails are buffed. "Ok then" I chose my polish and when I placed my hand in the shellac lamp I was badly burned and jerked my hand out . She instructed me to pull it out and put it back in, that that happens sometimes. In my experience, it never happens, unless only with a defective unit. My nails were not touching anything. I put them back in and was burned again. It felt like I was being burned with a laser or had a hot poker placed on my cuticles. I yanked my hand out again and patiently retried leaving my hand much farther out than she liked. She said" you are just sensitive" not. She said, you are not used to shellac" wrong. I said - this is not right, this is burning in a way it should not. Again" you are just too sensitive" we switched hands. I placed my right hand in- burned my fingers to hell. I yanked them out and told her the machine is not set right. This shouldn't happen. She raised her voice. " you are not used to shellac! This is why!" Omg no. This is not why. I have been getting shellac nails for years. Shellac does not burn. Lamps do not singe and strike heat of a branding iron onto your fingers when you are not touching anything. Then she looked at my left hand and noticed that the gel was messed up some from when I yanked my hand from the burning. " see?! Look now, you need buffing! See ?! I explained that I reacted to pain when you burned me. She said no, pulled out her buffing kit again and said , "this $10". I said no. She then said, " ok you mind I use this used one then ? and started taking a dirty used buffing block to my hand. I walked out. I should have run. You should run. They should be cited. read more

When I was finally seated, I explained what I needed done and the older gal was very contrary. She actually asked me why I wanted a color change, and said no just keep the nails the same.. she then told me it would be $1 for a file kit.. I said fine, then they wanted to charge me $20 to fix the nail and then the last straw was she wanted to charge me an extra $5 for the polish change. The attitude, the lack of professionalism and then all the extra fees made me stand up and walk out. The location is very convenient to my home and the staff at the shop were very friendly. My esthetician Jennifer was talkative and I felt like I got to know her, which I really enjoy. The deluxe pedicure was relaxing, the gel manicure looks great, and the chairs were comfy. This salon has been open for 16 years, so while the decor and "spa-like atmosphere" could be improved, I am happy to support this local business with such friendly staff. I went there today with my young daughter for a mom daughter treat over spring break. I have been getting my nails done for 16 years and i have NEVER had such an awful job in my whole life!!! I asked for my nails to be squared and they were rounded. I asked for them a little thicker since i am vary hard on my nails, they are vary thin. They are crooked and not even the same lengths.I really don't think they will last the week. My nails look terrible!!! I stated my concerns to the nail girl she said she would fix them. She did not! I was so upset i was almost in tears so i told the owner of my problems. The owner,nail girl and other employees chat in non American language and tell me they think they look fine to the owner and she wants full payment. Nail lady #2(not mine) says she sees my issues and if i come back later she will fix them for free. Went in for an eyebrow wax and pedicure. I am new to the area and this place was the closest to my home with decent reviews... I told the lady (who barely spoke English) that I wanted her to keep my eyebrow shape and only clean up the edges of my brows. (nod, nod, yes, yes). She waxed far more than I instructed and I am quite disappointed. I should have left at that point... The pedicure was mediocre at best, and they all share the same dirty tools. The ladies are nice, Kim, who helped me was talkative and wanted to get to know me, which I like. But unfortunately her work did not compete with her personality. My nails do not look good at all. I had to go back the next day to get another layer of gel since after a few hours it already started chipping. So Kim was nice enough to do it for me but the problem was that she just put another coat over what was already there. Well of course the second layer started lifting too, only makes sense. So now I have dull nails and I just don't have the time to go back for a 3rd time for them to fix it. I will not be returning. too bad read more
