Moral of story: The manager is rude (seeks feedback and then defends her customer abuse. This explains why their aestheticians keep leaving all the time). Called for feedback and then offered nothing in return other than a "we can be late but you can't" explanation. Not returning. Third bad experience here and I'm done. Buyer be wary. They are NOT nice to customers or understanding. Aestheticians are great but managers, not so much.

They are super strict about the 5 minute grace period. (Yes- 5 minutes). They front desk person was telling me how she was just about to cancel me as I walked in at 10:46. My appointment was 10:40. But because it was my first time, "you get a pass." This is one star off just because 5 minutes is a little intense. I wouldn't mind a 15 min? But 5 min? Esp when parking is either street or a 2 min walk from a parking lot. Vanessa was the tech that worked with me. She was really nice. Talked stories to make you feel comfortable. Told you breathing exercises and stuff. She had a decent amount of pressure. Took note of pressure points and sensitive areas. One thing I didn't like- was not being able to have the option to "check" till the very end. When I was done, I took a look in the mirror, and noticed sparse hairs that didn't get picked up from the sugar. But I couldn't do anything about it since we were done. When I got home to wash up, I felt pain on my skin. And that's usually normal for me because I have sensitive skin. But it's been a day- and still felt pain. Which is new. Noticed I had cuts. Like my skin was pulled off. And this is missed during a wax because waxing is already painful. This is the first time ever that my skin got pulled off during a sugar wax experience. The last time this happened was when I had hard wax... Overall- this is an alright place to check out if you want to try sugaring.

I've been lucky-I inherited naturally moist skin and most of my youth and young adult life all I had to do was slap on a moisturizer and a little blush and head out. When menopause hit, my skin changed and my former dewy skin became dry as the sand around Bend!. I've come to expect minimal service when redeeming Social Living/Groupon vouchers because many of the service suppliers make little to no money off them. Anne Chen, owner of Skinology, sees these vouchers as a way to educate women and men about their bodies largest organ...the skin. I purchased 2 vouchers, one for me and one as a gift for my daughter..the last facial I had was at a beauty college where clients were serviced as though they were in the Ford Production Line. I thought we'd go in together then go to lunch in Lake O, However Anne is a sole practitioner and only takes one client at a time. I scheduled on line, then turned up ill the day of my appointment called and cancelled -thinking I'd just thrown $40 down the drain. Daughter went, loved the work she had done and said Anne would accept my voucher past the expiration date if I scheduled right away-so I did. I wasn't particularly fussy about skin care products-drug store and on sale is what sold me. I requested an Anti-Aging facial and added on a pore cleaning and eye firming treatments. It was over an hour of lovely scents, cool calming lotions and potions and a real education about the contents of my 'Ponds' cold cream (what my mother used), Oil of Olay moisturizer (ditto) and Avon eye serum and ditto). I felt wonderful after the treatment, my face looked great and I ended up buying several of Annes products, which are all natural, no filers or chemical preservatives added and very reasonably priced. A trial sized sample of her Repechage Opti-Firming Serum comes with the treatment. Though $55.00 for the regular sized jar isn't the most expensive I've seen for eye serum, it can be a bit steep. But worth it! The sample sized jar can last a month, says Anne, with care. She treated my aged skin much differently than she treated my daughters 40 year old skin..that makes sense - compared to the production line facial I'd last had, where we both got the exact same thing and neither of us were particularly happy about it. My daughter said my face looked better than ever-a nice compliment for a 72 year old to hear, even if it is from her daughter!. I'm considering scheduling Annes special 6 treatment sale which ends up costing about $50.00 a treatment. Thats a never heard before price, IMO, for facials and most affordable for monthly of bi-monthly skin care! When I think about what I pay for a hair cut and color weave it's really reasonable! Anne has a mens special treatment-so you June Grooms can go in and get more handsome for your Bride-trust me, she's at a some spa doing the same for you!. I highly recommend Annes knowledgeable service, the care that she gives each client and her quality natural products which contain things like Blueberry extract, Jojoba oil and calendula. Reading the labels is like reading one of my Kitchen Facial Herb Books. Traditional herbs that have been used in women's skin care for hundreds of years appear in a non irritating base. I had never heard of sugaring before, so I read up on Crystal's website and did a little bit of Google-fu. She had a discount going for first time customers who wanted to get a Brazilian and seeing as how I had always wanted to try, I thought, "why not!?" Sugaring is an all-natural method of removing hair and is often compared to standard wax. A lot of people say it's a lot more gentle than standard wax, so seeing as how I wanted to get a Brazilian, I thought this would be the best route to go. I scheduled my appointment online. Super fast, super easy. The day of my appointment, Crystal texted me with some directions so that it would be easier to find her office. Really sweet and helpful of her to do that! Once I filled out the new customer form, she took me to the back and we got started. It was my first time doing this, but Crystal was totally cool about it. She walked me through each step, explained what she was doing, and so on. I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to pain, so sugaring was a little painful for me. At one point, I had to ask to take a break LOL. Crystal didn't even blink twice at that request HAHAHA. She kept me distracted by chatting with me (she's so sweet and funny!) and gave me advice/tips & tricks on aftercare. The session itself didn't take that long and she did a very thorough and fantastic job! Sugaring does get easier the more you do it, so I'll definitely be coming back.
