Crystal is wonderful! She had easy scheduling, very thoughtful, and has great communication with her clients.

Crystal was amazing! I have done sugaring one other time, and the experience was painful and not fun... But with Crystal, the 30 min felt not rushed, a little less painful (because obviously hair removal is not a pain free experience), and she was making sure I was ok doing small parts at a time. She is a great converser, and I would definitely recommend to anyone! I have already booked my return appt for next month! thank you for a great experience read more

Crystal was great! It's been a minute (or several months) since my last sugaring and she did a wonderful job.

Clean, inviting environment .... Owner, Crystal is so pleasant and makes you feel very comfortable! This is my first sugaring experience and so happy I found her! read more

First time sugaring. Heard it was less painful, longer lasting than hard wax, and less irritating to the skin. Jury is still out on the pain level. If the hair is longer you kind of get a double pull (once when putting on, and second with removal). That said, I do have another appointment scheduled to really know for sure! Overall had a good experience. It's a private location so you just have to buzz/ring to be let in. Not sure if that's an always thing or just since COVID? Anyways, I'll definitely be back (as I stated before) and would recommend to others. read more

I was going on vacation and wanted to get waxed prior to look my best. Tried getting in a month in advance with my go to wax girl and she was never able to get me in. So took the opportunity to try something new! I reached out to my friends about sugaring and got extremely mixed reviews from yea do it it's the best to don't it's a waste of money. Decided to go through with it any way and unfortunately for my normal wax girl, she's now lost my loyalty due to lack of availability and crystal has gained it! My sugaring experience was awesome. It hurt 726384 times less than a normal bikini wax and lasted way longer. I would get really awful redness and bumps from wax that almost made it pointless to not just shave for my bikini wearing needs. Really appreciate crystal for making my experience comfortable and enjoyable. Her space is small but does the job and the building itself is slightly confusing, FYI. I understood it was individual rental suites but wasn't sure if there was someone to check in with or what until someone else told me to walk on in. Her space is the first on the right. read more

I've been going here for 6 months and I love it! Sugaring is way more effective and less painful for me than regular waxing. Crystal is amazing! read more

I have been seeing Crystal for over 2 years / almost monthly and she never fails to deliver excellent service. She has been there from the start with my sugar wax journey and there is no one else I trust! Crystal is your esthetician turned into unexpected friend. Due to COVID-19 / just her life, she will be restarting her business in Oregon! Oregon will be sooo lucky to have this amazingly talented woman over there! I am so sad she will be leaving San Diego, but I do know she is training someone to take over her lease in September 2020. Whether in San Marcos or Oregon let's be patient and continue to give this business some support! Crystal you are great and I'm so happy we got to bond during our sessions! Thank you for always being gentle, quick , careful and humorous! The only painful wax is reading your departure email :( lol! read more

This was my first experience with a Brazilian sugaring service and I was comfortable and at ease the entire time. Crystal is the best! Highly recommend! read more

069 / 100 - 2017 YELP 100 CHALLENGE. CRYSTAL IS AMAZING!!! I was looking at different waxing locations near Vista and came across Sugar San Diego. I had never heard of sugaring before, so I read up on Crystal's website and did a little bit of Google-fu. She had a discount going for first time customers who wanted to get a Brazilian and seeing as how I had always wanted to try, I thought, "why not!?" Sugaring is an all-natural method of removing hair and is often compared to standard wax. A lot of people say it's a lot more gentle than standard wax, so seeing as how I wanted to get a Brazilian, I thought this would be the best route to go. I scheduled my appointment online. Super fast, super easy. The day of my appointment, Crystal texted me with some directions so that it would be easier to find her office. Really sweet and helpful of her to do that! Once I filled out the new customer form, she took me to the back and we got started. It was my first time doing this, but Crystal was totally cool about it. She walked me through each step, explained what she was doing, and so on. I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to pain, so sugaring was a little painful for me. At one point, I had to ask to take a break LOL. Crystal didn't even blink twice at that request HAHAHA. She kept me distracted by chatting with me (she's so sweet and funny!) and gave me advice/tips & tricks on aftercare. The session itself didn't take that long and she did a very thorough and fantastic job! Sugaring does get easier the more you do it, so I'll definitely be coming back. Crystal's prices are definitely fair and reasonable - especially since you don't need to come back for 4-6 weeks. Definitely recommend Crystal and Sugar San Diego if any of you ladies are looking to try out sugaring! It was a great experience for me. read more

This yelp review is long over due! I've been going to Crystal for over 5 years now! I've followed her through multiple locations and always spread the word on my sugaring experience. Crystal does an AMAZING job every time. I go to her for my Brazilian and my underarms, I can't remember the last time I shaved them, every time it's perfection. It's quick, painless and last for weeks. Her location is clean, smells fresh and nicely decorated. I've taken my 2 year old daughter with me multiple times; Crystal is GREAT with kids. If I could give her 100 stars I totally would! read more

I have only gotten a wax once. The first time was so scary that I thought I was scarred for life and never ever going to go back again. Tis bathing suit season and I definitely did not want to go to the beach or the pool a chewbacca hot mess. I made an appointment easily online (one of the reasons that attracted me as well). Crystal is a sweetheart and a complete professional. Her studio is quaint and very clean and very welcoming. She explained the difference between sugaring and waxing and I was sold - esp on the no hot wax part. I don't know if you could call me a convert since I had only waxed once before, but you can call me a sugaring supporter. I don't think I can go back to shaving (and horrid ingrowns) again. Also, whats great is Crystal is easy to talk to and just loves what she does. That's pretty hard to find these days and that's why I'm planning on definitely being a loyal customer. She had this sweet deal for new clients too - ask about that! read more

This is not who I normally go to for Sugar Waxing. She was able to take me last minute so I thought id give it a try. I was not impressed. I was surprised that for a Brazilian she did not know how to better handle the skin so its not as painful (ex: pulling it tight). I'm also not sure what kind of sugar wax she is using because it stuck to my skin like crazy. I felt every rip of that wax. I don't have that problem with my usual place. When I asked her to look at my underarms to see if it was long enough to wax she said its short but that she would try and wouldn't charge me. She got a few hairs but ultimately could not get a clean wax. She proceeds to tell me she will charge me $5 for her effort. SERIOUSLY?!?!? Both under arms are red and tender but the left hurts worse because she kept going over and over it. Sugar should not rip skin off like that. It has been years since I have had a bad underarm wax. She is a very pleasant person and the room itself is very nice and comfortable but she seemed to lack experience. The "know how" to accommodate each clients and their skin. This is simply my opinion and my experience. Take this w a grain of salt. I personally wont be back. I will just wait for an appointment at my usual place. read more

I am just in love with this place! Convenient to get to, Crystal is ridiculously nice, and makes you feel totally comfortable when you are getting worked on. I have been waxing for years, and I have to say that I am honestly totally converted. I don't know if it's just because of the great job that she does, but after only one time of being sugared here, I am completely unwilling to go elsewhere. The studio is completely clean, comfortable and everything you want in a place you will be baring all. Having worked in 2 salons makes me a bit spoiled when it comes to any esthetician or salon setting, and her location definitely passes the test. I would (and do!) recommend Crystal to anyone wanting any type of hair removal. read more

I got the LivingSocial deal for a brazilian for only $29 (usually $60) and decided to try it out. I usually get a wax at another place but for $29 I couldn't pass it up :) The location is super convenient to me but I did have a bit of a hard time finding where it was. All the buildings look like town homes so it was hard to tell which was the business and which were just homes. I called Crystal and she was really patient with getting me directions. The room itself is very cute and cozy and Crystal explained the difference between sugar and waxing. We had a good talk while she was working away and she's very accommodating with her schedule. I will definitely be going back! I still have services that I already paid for at my waxing place but I may just go back and forth between the two places. read more

Sugaring is the best thing around for hair removal. It really, truly doesn't hurt! I've tried both waxing and threading, enduring the pain with each... one time even suffering from bleeding, raw skin. Thank goodness NO MORE! Sugar-San Diego is an "owner-operator" business. When you make an appointment (conveniently, on-line,) you are making an appointment with the owner, Crystal. She is very friendly & welcoming. She puts you at ease if you're feeling nervous about the sugaring process. Her salon is private and comfortable. You will not feel rushed and you will not feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. I highly recommended. read more

Crystal is the BEST! I've been seeing her for a few years now and won't ever leave because she does such an amazing job. I drive 40 minutes to see her and it's so worth it. Crystal is incredibly personable and truly cares about each of her clients; she's seen me through quite a few life changes and always offers a patient ear and kind advice. Besides Crystal being amazing, sugaring is just an overall better experience for my skin. Traditional waxing always irritated my skin but with sugar that has never happened. Seriously, if you haven't tried sugaring you must and you have to see Crystal. You will NOT regret it! read more

First time getting a Brazilian and it was a great experience! Crystal had such a great personality that made me feel very comfortable and at ease (considering, I'm baring it all!). As for the Brazilian sugaring: I am hooked! The discomfort is very tolerable, she works cleanly and professionally. I couldn't be happier with the results. read more

I loved everything about my time at sugar San Diego! Crystal was very professional and I loved her energy! The place is clean and she was very patient. I got a Brazilian and it was of course a little painful but very doable and from what I've heard sugaring lasts longer and with regular maintenance it's really only the first time that's a little tough at least for me! I would highly recommend this place for all your sugaring needs! Just booked a eyebrow wax because I was so happy with the service. Also, I live in Clairemont, so I'm driving 40 minutes because it's really that worth it. :) read more

Crystal is AWESOME!!! This was my first time waxing ever and I was terrified. She was so nice and patient. She did an excellent job distracting me with conversation while she did the waxing which could have been super awkward. She is very easy to talk to. She is very professional and friendly at the same time. It didn't take as long as I thought it would which was nice. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Crystal is absolutely amazing!! Best first time sugaring experience I could have imagined. Not only is she hilarious and kind, she also made the whole experience comfortable. I have had Brazilian waxes before, but my super sensitive skin has a hard time recovering. I had NO breakouts, NO rash, and NO pain after my sugaring was complete. I also LOVE that she uses nature ingredients, and coconut oil as her after treatment. Highly recommend, I will be returning! read more

Crystal is very professional and easy to talk too. Let's face it, sugaring certain areas is often a very awkward situation but Crystal makes it so much less so. She is easy to communicate with and the actual process goes by very quickly. I am pleased with the results. I highly recommend this place! read more

Crystal is absolutely a gem. She made me feel so comfortable for my first time getting a Brazilian, albeit it being my first sugaring experience, I felt like a seasoned pro by the end! She was so considerate as to how I was feeling, and she moved so quickly and gracefully. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great "first-timer" experience. Crystal has a five star rating because her services are awesome!! I have been waxing for years, and shortly after moving to the San Marcos area, I was looking for someone that could help me in a pinch. My first experience with sugaring was so amazing, I'm hooked! So much less damage to the skin than waxing, and NONE of the 'after burn'. After reading the other reviews, I'm not going to be trying anyone else. Thank you Crystal, for keeping me looking like a lady. read more
