Great service- wondered staff. Got my eyebrows and lip waxed last week. Usually I get bumps after a wax and was worried that it would happen again but it did not. My face is fuzz free and also bump free! Would highly recommend. I also got my eyebrows tinted and they look amazing! It's so nice to not have to fill them in every day. OMG...let me start off by saying this was the best wax experience I have had in years!! i've had so many bad experiences at the nail shops I'm so happy that I found a woman owned business that utilizes three types of hair removal techniques. this is my first time going so I decided to go all out and got a full face: sideburns, cheeks, lip, chin, & neck...no pain!! I have only been waxed a couple of times years ago and to be honest, I was kind of dreading my appointment. However, this ended up being such a positive experience that I have already started to wonder "Hmm... maybe I should be one of those people who gets a wax every other month!" I moved to Portland and dreaded finding a new place to get my eyebrows and eyelashes done. I have red/auburn hair and blonde eyebrows and lashes. Most places just tint my brows dark brown or black, which I've never loved, but definitely dealt with. I found Carsen at Bare beauty through yelp and thought I'd give it a try. Bare Beauty and Carsen are gems! Carsen takes her time and is the first person to ever tint my eyebrows with an auburn tint! Carsen also does brow shaping with tweezers since I can't use wax (retinoids). Their prices are very affordable and hours accommodating for anyone who works a 9-5. Carsen is incredible and I would recommend her to ANYONE! She's the best and I'm sad to be leaving Portland and losing her. If you're wondering if you should go, look no further. Let me just begin by saying she is super sweet and very knowledgeable about lash extensions - she knows what types of lashes would look good according to her client's tastes and needs as well as having a natural eye for how the lashes will look, suggesting what she feels would make the client look their most beautiful! I'll probably write more than one review for the studio, but figured I would start the minute I walked out of the studio because I feel SO GOOD. This is my first experience with lashes and while I like the opportunity to glam it up once and awhile, I really just wanted something natural that made me look awake and be able to jump up and go once and awhile without feeling like I had to put on a full face. After a not-so great experience at Urban Waxx, I was in the unfortunate position of finding a new waxer? wax-ista? waxing guru? which is NEVER fun. After much yelp-hunting and review-searching, I settled on Marianne's studio. The first visit was a bit discombobulating, since the building is oddly designed and not very helpful when you are trying to find a new place - but thankfully Marianne's confirmation emails are very instructive as to what to do - once you find the right door! Despite the office building feel, her studio is a little nook of zen. All white, with fresh and light colors, you instantly feel welcome with her smile and easy manner. She is so down to earth and I never feel awkward or weird. I've been a client for about a year now, and am so happy to have found a place that is not only reasonably priced, but fun and leaving me excited to return. Usually they're perfect but this last time she tried a different size "roller" and they were a little off. I couldn't tell at the time but she could so she offered re-do them for free then or re-schedule me in the next few days if I wanted. I was seeing Marianne at Urban Waxx and as soon as I met her I made sure to see her every time. However once Marianne left I decided to give this new waxer at Urban a chance. I was not impressed and it was really uncomfortable, needless to say after that I sought out Marianne because she makes makes me feel like a friend and at the same time she is always stays professional. She has this wonderful way of making me laugh which is helpful for when she rips the hair out. Her new place was easy to find and her instructions on her website helped immensely on how to get into the building. Her work area was bright and very warm. Loved the pastel colors she chose. Very clean! As for her technique, Marianne gets the wax on and let's it cool a bit then she rips it off like a band aid. When she is finished she just touches the area she just waxed which is incredibly comforting. Prices are reasonable and Marianne is really good about keeping her waxing time though I want to stay longer because I love chatting with her. I also had a date the evening of my last appointment, she usually does my bikini first and then my eyebrows but I didn't want to be red in the face later. She was incredibly accommodating and she used this tea tree oil afterward that was incredibly soothing. My date never even knew. Marianne is awesome and I will not see anybody else as long as she's waxing and worth every penny. read more

I have had my lashes done by Rebekah and she is absolutely amazing!!! Not only is she super sweet but she is fantastic and what she does. I went in for a full set a couple months ago and fell in love. However, the bummer was I got a virus a couple days after that included itchy and watering eyes, so most of my lashes came out:( When I went back in for my fill, Rebekah was so great and understanding and was able to give me a pretty much new set in the time a fill takes which is about half of a full set.
