Overdue review - I called day of appointment about coming down with covid and instead of refunding, they firmly told me they would charge me 50% of booking; $100. No thank you for not getting their staff possibly sick or anything. I got smacked with charge on credit card a few minutes later. They emailed me telling me they could reschedule my appointment, and let me know they never do that even if someone says they have covid. Place holder for now, will update rating as my treatment progresses. Just started my 6 pack at Balm. I will say the website is misleading by saying that you would get $100 off your laser package but all the prices that are shown on the website "are priced with the promo already applied." I was informed if I didn't do the consultation they would just add on $100 to the reflected package pricing. I had originally thought that with the promo I would've gotten the promo applied to the package price listed. I definitely felt slightly mislead when paid the full price listed on the website even after having the consultation with the receptionist. I also thought that during my consultation, the esthetician would take a look at my area of concern and give me a quote as to how many treatments I'd need and cost. But during the consultation it was more like an explanation of what laser hair removal was. Though I noted in my appt that I've had it before and would like a touch up and quote. Unfortunately the esthetician was not able to make it to the consult and the receptionist set me up with my package, they were able to access at my first visit instead. Today was my first visit. Parking was pretty ample. I was called 15 minutes before my appt to be informed my esthetician wasn't in office and asked to move my appt since the client before me still has not been seen yet. Luckily it was my day off & I hadn't left the house just yet. I would say during my initial visit I wish a test patch was initiated during the consult as I've done with other providers to see what would be best for the entire treatment. It seemed that the whole treatment felt like a trial run on the specific setting that the machine was told based on my skin and hair. It would've been nice if there was some customization in some sense. Since it was my first session and I was still a tad sensitive I can understand the tech wanting to be cautious of burns. Though I've shared my previous experience of not being prone to burns. Emily was very kind and patient & the process took about 30 minutes. She did about one sweep through the entire area. I'm used to 2-3 sweeps to each area. I'm grateful the laser that was used had a cold compress setting which really helped with feeling less of the laser in more sensitive areas with more dense hairs. Really hope I got some good results on my first round; will keep this post updated after my 2nd session scheduled in December. read more

Initially I thought I was getting a nice facial until it was time for the microdermabrasion, she was sucking my face with the machine without any serum or moisturize which left my skin with stroke like scratches from the machine. I should have realized I had an inexperienced esthetician when she didn't ask me any questions about my skin or what products I use before getting started with the facial. I paid over $200 at the Beaverton studio to walk out with a volume lash fill that looks like it needed to be refilled again on top of the fact a large number of lashes fell out the next day. Contacted the store via text and spoke to Mykel who offered a free 'refill' at the Pearl location. Same thing happened. I questioned the tech and she said, yes placement of the lash so FAR up the lash is normal. i contacted the store again and sent another pic. I was then gaslighted by being offered a measly $100 store credit and a dance around the actual question of IF the placement was normal and why so thin for a volume fill. She once again gaslit me and indicated it was 'because of the health or lashes' that placement is determined. I asked for a refund and was given the tiny $100 compared to the over TWO HUNDRED I spent. Don't waste your money here. They obviously care more about the pick glasses they serve water in than the quality of work done or customer service provided read more

Such a cute little beauty bar! Received a Groupon and normally trying to schedule anything with a Groupon voucher is like pulling teeth. This took 3 minutes and all online! I came in for a facial with Mykel and she was awesome! I LOVED that she asked if I wanted her to go through products during the facial or after. It gives you the option to actually relax. She also asked during the facial if I was comfortable with extractions rather than going right for it, or not offering it at all. All in all a solid facial. Another thing, they aren't pushy with products. She gave me two suggestions and explained why she thought I needed them. Course I ended up buying something. Everything about this place was great. Sugaring was not as great, as I was left with bruising for the first time due to repetitive pulls in the same areas. I will try for a different tech next time. I love the balm. I booked an appointment for dermaplaning and a brow tint, however when I got there, my aesthetician suggested I skip dermaplaning since my skin was irritated and sensitive. She genuinely wanted to do what was best for my skin rather than pushing unnecessary expensive treatments. After my brow tint she also cleaned them up with some plucking for no additional charge.
