If you want the short version, just note that I drive 3 hours from out of town to get my brows done by Ursula. That sums it up. - She does both waxing and threading. I used to wax elsewhere for years, and always walked out with shiny pink skin and for days I would break out like a teenager where the wax had been. Ursula recommended threading for me and I was hesitant because I had done it before and thought it was imprecise. I am so glad I gave it another try! She is like a laser with that thread and gets every single hair, and my skin is perfectly fine with no irritation. - Ursula is a perfectionist with my brows as well as with her practices. Both she and her shop are meticulously clean and sanitary, which is SO important. This is not a place where you will spend ten dollars and ten minutes on a haphazard job. After years of common mishaps at another wax spot I decided I needed to be put in brow rehab. I have always wanted thicker, fuller brows and for some reason I still leave most places over waxed, bright red, and bummed. Ursula was able to spend ample time with me asking questions, ensuring the tint was what I wanted and giving me a tutorial for penciling my brows in so I can regrow some over waxed spots. She even threaded instead of waxed so I didn't leave bright red and was able to get all the baby hairs. I'm very happy with the results and all of the care that was put into her services. Her studio is conveniently located and a very cool part of Northwest Portland, where there is free street parking! She articulated her every move and decision on how to shape my brows and they came out perfectly! First of all, getting your eyebrows done is a torturous and painful process, for me personally, but I don't really care to look like Eugene Levy, so I unfortunately need to get my eyebrows waxed. I don't know how she does it, but Ursula actually makes the whole process somewhat enjoyable. She makes me feel like I've known her my entire life and we always have great conversation, she knows how much I hate getting my brows done, so she makes it her mission to make it as painless as possible, and I can tell she tries her best to do so.
