I had the most wonderful experience here. Sophie is AMAZING! First I came in on Dec 23rd and I was having a really bad night, my car had broke down and I could't get help for a while. So I went into the salon and they were to close in an hour. I asked if they might be able to do a pedi, and a full set. They not only gave me a wonderful pedi, but then Sophie and one other stayed an hour past close! They were so friendly, helpful, and made my night go from bad to great. For the price the paint job should have been better. I had an "appointment" with my daughter but had to wait about 20 minutes. The deluxe pedi was to include callous removal and my feet are not good. He had trouble with the color I chose, my mistake. He kept adding something to it, it was like mud. Never got hard and by the next morning was covered with lint and dull. We had a great experience here over the weekend for pedicures. Very clean, nice atmosphere, peaceful music. The massage chairs really pack a punch, with lots of options. Both of our nail technicians took their time and did a great job. We got the deluxe package and enjoyed the warm wax, massage and hot stones. My experience here was ok. I went in with an ideal style in mind-- a maroon or purple color. I selected multiple shades even ones similar in color but they didn't have them. I only go here for Andy. He is one of the best nails techs ive had. I use to go to Designer nails and they always butchered my acrylics. Andy is the only tech that has managed to do my nails perfectly every single time. (I get coffin shaped acrylics) I went in today for a fill and was $10 short so I was just going to do a regular polish fill as oppose to shellac. Well Andy was sweet enough to use shellac anyway since he knows thats what I always get! I will say that I have got a pedicure there before and the lady that did it made me feel uncomfortable so I get pedicures elsewhere. read more

First time here and last. $71 (2hrs 40min) Came in for acrylic removal and a new acrylic set - coffin shaped. To start off this lady kept making condescending "jokes" and it just came off as some rude comments...when the lady was removing my acrylics she was starting to scrape them off and yes it hurt, I personally always find it pretty painful when my acrylics are be scraped off, because it takes my actual nail's layers off.. so every time I slightly flinched she would get annoyed and laugh and say "these acrylics are old I don't know how you're hurting." She kept repeating things like that insinuating that it doesn't actually hurt??? But I explained to her it does hurt and she would just shake her head and laugh. So then she made a comment "Your baby in your family and you are baby in here" I found that so rude. Finally she offered the soaking in acetone method and I said yes but then she said in a annoyed tone that it would take longer so I felt like okay fine just keep scraping... again it was hurting and so finally she said again the acetone and I said yes because it hurts. The soaking did not take long and was a much better gentle removal option. Now when applying the acrylics some of them came out crooked especially middle finger I asked her twice if she could re-do it she just kept re-filing one side of it to make it look straight but it was obviously still crooked and had the nerve to tell me that my natural nail is crooked! She's the first nail technician to make it crooked on that finger and to say that it "crooked" and I know my own nails and they ain't crooked lol so I just said forget it maybe when she applies color it won't be so bad but nope her painting skills were messy and she made my nails THICK AND LUMPY. Very ugly job done on my nails and I know she was saying mean things in her language about me was so obvious lol. Longest time I ever had at nail salon and I only did my hands... Atleast if she did a nice job on my nails I would let the rude comments and time go but no everything was bad the experience, my nails, and the nail technician. I talked to manager afterwards if I could come back to get them re done she said yes she would do them but honestly thinking about it, it's not worth it since the experience was bad and what if she does a horrible job too. I used to go to 88 nails on top of the hill in Oregon city before the pandemic And that was because they treated me like they were happy to see me and happy to do my nails and they offered me something to drink water pop Coke root beer or even wine. They may have said stuff to the person they know behind the room in a different language but this guy didn't say one word to me except (have you picked color yet?). He was so rude and treated me like he hated women I mean it I will never go there again ever I only left him a three dollar tip when I used to go there I will give those people $20 for my nails and $10 for my eyebrows. If I knew his name I would use it but I can only say he to refer to him and he was very rude didn't make me feel comfortable couldn't wait to get out of there it's supposed to be a relaxing place and that place used to be packed with people. packed!!! I don't know if they lost it because of the pandemic or they sold it or what but they were so nice and so good and they are anymore and I just wanted to put that down there and some review because they suck bad!! I won't ever go there again and it's up to you if you want to but there's a place on McLaughlin called Sutton garden that is much better I hear I haven't been there yet but the next time I get my nails done that's where I'm going I hope this helps somebody save money and If you wanna go there that's super they definitely need the business!!). arhorrible horrible rude and I will never go read more

Met a friend here to have a girls afternoon & get our nails done. The worst manic I have ever had. It was so rushed and to top it off didnt last. I got gel nails with black French tips which they charge you extra for both. Two days latter my nails where already chipping. I tried to call and get a refund they refused to give me one and wanted me to come in so they could fix it. Even after explaining I live a hour away they still would not refund any of my money back. Also took me 3 times of calling to even talk to someone about the issue as they kept hanging up on me as soon as I asked for a manage. read more

I love coming here. Always warm and friendly, they do everything they can to accommodate their walk ins. Lilly is the best at nails. I never have any lifts or broken nails unless I go past 3 weeks before getting a fill. Best of all they are open Sundays! Monday they are closed. The spa pedicures are wonderful and they even have champagne or mimosa pedi's. My sister had taken me their for the first time for my birthday a couple years back now I have moved back to OC and am a regular. I highly recommend this salon for all your primping needs. I always loved 88 nails and have been a long time customer so I'm disappointed to write this, but today I had the worst nail salon experience of my life in this store. My understanding is it is under new ownership, which could be a major part of the issue. I think they are renaming it "glamorous nails". Anyway, I normally get shellac manicures and wanted to try the dip manicure because I was told it would last longer. When I say down the woman who was helping me immediately started filing my nails down to nothing with a dremel tool. Being new to dipped nails I thought "okay, this must just be how it's done" she continued to file over my cuticles and ripped off hunks of skin on two of my nails. Each time I let her know it hurt and she said sorry and just kept going. She proceeded to file over my cuticles despite my obvious discomfort. Once she was done filing,she painted and dipped my nails.i alerted her that there was lint stuck to two of my nails she said"yeah I saw that,I'll get it" before I knew it the solution had dried, she did not get the lint and there was nothing she could do more filing to dig it out. Best part... to wipe the dust o my hand she used a large makeup brush... which I watched go from my hand to wipe off THE TABLE to then brush off my other hand. I was DISGUSTED. She ended the session by wiping my nails and raw cuticles with alcohol. I went home in tears and will never return to that shop. Oh yeah, and they have a shady atm situation in there. I watched them tell a guy and his wife that they do not take cards, and they would have to pull money from their sketch looking atm machine. There is no sign on the door or anything saying they don't take cards. When I left I was very unhappy and they took my card, and ran it through a square. Hmm... so you do take card after all?.... the whole thing just seemed shady to me. Like I said in the beginning of this rant, I am very disappointed because up to this point I have had nothing but the best experiences with 88 and would constantly refer people there. Oregon city please beware of Vivian at 88 nails. I have never ever in my life been treated so inhumanly by another human as I was by Vivian today...I was not treated like a customer but like an animal. Vivian has displayed a strong opinion and negativity about other customers during my last few visits with her, but today she came undone over something so minor which resulted in her berating me in front of her coworkers and others customers and then kicking me out with my nails half done. I left in tears. Here is what happened: I came in at noon to see if Vivian had any openings for a fill. Her coworker scheduled me to come back for an appointment at 3pm I drove back for my appt and arrived at 2:57 to find Vivian working on another gals nails. At 3:35 Vivian finally took me in and I did not complain about the 35 min wait but just smiled and asked her about her life and her daughter. Vivian then began pushing me for info on who had done my nails last? She seemed agitated that I went somewhere else. She said they used subpar products, and seemed angry that she had to fix a chipped nail. She was so tense and was in such a hurry that my nail appt began to feel tense. You could cut the air with a knife. She was clearly trying to make up time since her next customer had already arrived. I did express one concern about my thumb nail being so much shorter than my other nails and she got very angry with me and said I should have told her before she put her powder in the drawer. (Had I noticed, I would have mentioned & isn't this her job to notice?) She refused to fix it and since I felt like such a bother to her, I said that would be fine. I asked if we could file all the other nails shorter to match but she refused. At this point, I started to feel so incredibly uncomfortable but still did not say a word. After she filed my nails, I noticed that one nail was a bit high on one side, so while she got her drill ready, I grabbed my hand file and sanded it down just slightly (this took me maybe 3 seconds). This is when Vivian completely came unglued. She stood up from the station and yelled, "So you want to file your nails now?" Then she started on a rant telling me that she does not have time for this? I only filed it myself because I was scared to tell her it was too high because of how tense she was acting. I was trying not to make her more angry. I then calmly tried to reason with her about why she was suddenly so mean and all she could repeat was that I was too picky and that she doesn't have time for me. I asked how I could possibly be at fault for taking too much of her time when I had an hour appointment and we were just 30 min in? She then proceeded to berate me and tell me I could leave and have my nails finished somewhere else. I was honestly in total shock so much so that I actually said "No, lets just get them painted and be done with it." When she sat back down to paint them, she was throwing things around and she started up again about how everything was my fault and she just wouldn't stop! I can't believe I actually took this abuse this long, but at this point I was shaking and on the verge of tears so I said, "Ok I think it's best I go." She stood up and said "Fine..no charge...and don't ever come back." I turned and left in tears. A few months ago Vivian put a new set of nails on for me and she was also extremely agitated that day but with a customer that had come in before me. Ironically, Vivian spoke terribly about how "picky" she was and how that customer had drove her nuts. It made me very uncomfortable but it seems Vivian does not like her customers to have any opinion on their nails or what they want them to look like. My nail chipped just a few hours after she did this new set and when I came back the next morning to show her, her response was that it was my fault. That I wanted too many coats of polish on and she was very angry that time as well (I only opted for another coat because the first coats were streaky). She had the front desk gal file my nail and touch it up with paint, rather than doing a full repair...and of course, I never complained. After today, this was just too far. Vivian if you are reading this, please understand how hurtful your words and actions are. I will not soon forget the inconceivable way in which I was treated. No one should ever ever ever have to endure this kind of horrible treatment when they are paying for a salon service. If you want to have any opinion about how your nails look when they are done, then please stay very far from Vivian at 88 nails. She is suffering from severe mood shifts and she clearly displaced her anger on to me today which I certainly did not deserve. As I write this, I am still shaking and looking at my half done nails....Salons services are meant to be relaxing and enjoyable, not torturous. read more

I like 88 nails and I've gone here for many years. It's changed since the beginning and the faces of the salon have changed as well. Lots of new techs that I didn't see before, but the service has still always been good. They're always busy but try to get you in or fit you in for another time during that day. They have a nice beverage list and their prices are great. I've always had good experiences here and I like the close location to my house and nearby errands. It's not over the top amazing, but it gets the job done, it's affordable, and I enjoy the quick service and free drinks! read more

Unfortunately due to poor sanitization of their equipment I developed an infection of the skin at the toenail (requiring antibiotics) after receiving a pedicure here. I contacted them and asked that they review their cleanliness and practices- as I remember being stabbed sharply with a metal instrument- so that others won't have to suffer from an unnecessary infection from their services. They said their cameras were down and they were not sure who would have done my pedicure, but endorsed fault and said they will try and review practices, and would refund money. When I arrived to the salon they said it was my fault that I had an ingrown nail, and not their equipment. In no way did I ever have an ingrown nail, and told them my nails were in amazing shape and the only reason I was there was to get them painted for a friends birthday. When I asked what made them think this, since I knew I did not have an ingrown nail and they were not there, the same girl who said she didn't know any information about that day said that she remembered that my friend said I had an ingrown nail. This never happened, we never once discussed my feet, and I found this absolutely ridiculous that they were trying so hard to lie and cover for their fault. My friend even laughed about how ridiculous this silly lie was. I was never going to write a negative review, I just wanted them to be safer and protect their customers, especially in COVID times. However, this blatant lie really convinced me that they will be making no change and their customers are at risk of falling ill in their hands. read more

I read the reviews (a very mixed bag) a decided to try it since my usual place was closed...even though they were supposed to be open today (day after Christmas, even a sign on their door said they'd be open!). I am pretty sure I was the first customer of the day since I can in at half past the hour. Sophie worked on my tootsies for an hour and a half! I felt so pampered. She did an excellent job of callus removal and really focused on getting my very sad looking feet in line. Totally glad I decided to give 88 Nails a chance. read more
