Great service! Clean place family friendly. Food was great. Price very reasonable for all you can eat. This will be added to our regular places to go.

Back in July, Sophia and I traveled to Chesapeake to eat at this well-known AYCE spot. They've been here for a minute and for the most part, locals enjoy the food. This is the 1st time in a long time that we've been at a buffet restaurant so let's see how the visit went. We immediately got seated after walking in and luckily it wasn't packed with customers. Basically, what you do is go up and fill your bowl with protein, veggies and sauce of your choosing. Then, the chef places your bowl of food onto the flatop grill and your meal will cook in a minute. Plain and simple. The two times I went up, everything tasted wonderful and cooked really well. And they also served a side of bread and a bowl of white rice to help keep us full. However, during our visit, it felt very warm inside. The building itself is outdated and their A/C unit seemed to be inefficient. I am a big guy so the hint of heat will make me sweat, which was the case here. Plus, even though the food was really good, there weren't a whole lot of options to choose from. It was a minute since I last did a buffet so maybe that's where my thought process was. Even with the issues mentioned above, the meal was filling. The next time we come by is probably the Winter or Spring when the weather's more appropriate.

Top Mongolian is excellent and well situated. As always well worth the lunch with the daughter. Highly recommend if you have never been.

The buffet lacks variety not enough vegetables only 3 meat choices. No soup no fruit. Won't ever going again. Service was ok. Looked clean not many people in there eating.

The restaurant is very nice and clean and everyone was nice and quick to get us situated. Food was really good, personally I wished they had jalapeños on the line but that's just a personal preference as well as well as Sriracha. Other than that we definitely would come again! Also I loved how they had fruit and jello.

ABSOLUTELY the cutest hostess. It was the owners grand daughter. She was so adorable. She asks in her little voice "How many?" my husband held up 6 fingers and said six and the grandmother sat us. Then the little girl came to our table and said "What would you like to drink?" This made our visit so special. and then of course her grandmother was listening and went and got all of our drinks. My favorite part was at the end when The tiny little girl brought us 6 fortune cookies. It was all she could do was to carry all those cookies. We were all clapping and saying thank you at that point and the little girl was laughing and smiling and was just so pleased. OH the food was super fresh and plenty of variety to build your bowl. It was cooked perfect and super hot. We all loved it. They also had an area with fruit. I highly recommend this place and with any luck you will get the fantastic service as we did.

I don't get here as much as I used to but by God when I do visit I go home and hibernate in a food coma afterwards. One time I wanted to point out is that pricing has changed here since I first started coming to Top Mongolian. Originally there was a lunch menu that let you do 1 bowl or unlimited. That's no longer available. There's just one price now which is about $15. It's still 100% worth it though. The business is family owned and you always will be taken care of by the husband and wife team. While not talkative they always greet you like an old friend and take care of their regulars. If you're hungry when you leave, it's no one's fault but your own. :)

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, my sister-in-law, her kids, me and my kids. She left it up to me to pick the lunch spot (yes!), so I decided on Top Mongolian Bar-B-Q. My niece and nephews are picky eaters and reading from the reviews and seeing the pics, this seemed like an ideal spot. Nothing too crazy and I mean, noodles (who doesn't like noodles?!), variety of toppings to choose from, each person can make it the way they want and they cook it in front of you. My kids and I were stoked on the sole fact that they served noodles LOL. This is an All You Can Eat Mongolian spot. The star of the show is a circular cooktop in the middle of the restaurant and the one man show. Ok, let me give you the rundown. As soon as we were seated, the Mom (I am assuming) took our drink orders. She quickly returned with our drinks and bowls of white rice and warm sesame rolls (bread topped with sesame seeds). There are 4 stations surrounding the one man show. Grab a bowl and pile on whatever you want that you can fit in the bowl. Pace yourself. Remember, it's AYCE haha. Follow the stations in this order: You start here - *Noods/Veg Noodles - only one kind, yellow noodles, kind of like lo mein Veggies - broccoli florets, sliced celery, matchstick carrots, shredded cabbage, sliced onions, sliced mushrooms, beans sprouts, sliced zucchini, chopped tomatoes, sliced green peppers, canned baby corn. Not sure if the ingredients change depending on the day, but this is what was available on our visit. *Meat (frozen) - slices of beef, pork, chicken *Seafood: shrimp, squid, imitation crab, canned pineapple chunks (of course I know this is not seafood, but it's placed where the seafood is ;) *Sauces: Mongolian, oyster, minced garlic, wine, sugar water, lemon water, ginger water, sesame oil, hot pepper, hot pepper flakes. There is a sign that says to get one scoop of each for best results. I did not see this until the second round and second time was even better. Follow their advice. Once it's your turn, Pop will dump your ingredients on the cook top and then keep flipping and rotating your ingredients with big ass chopsticks while walking in a circular motion around the cooktop. He makes about 2 turns and then uses the chopsticks to masterfully push your food off the cooktop onto a new plate. Also, he only cooks one bowl at a time, but it's surprisingly fast. It's actually mesmerizing to watch. Just curious, but I would love to put a step counter on this man and see how many steps he clocks in a day... it's incredible. I bet he can do this in his sleep. *Desserts : There is a freezer with small individual cups of ice cream with the cardboard tab top you find at the convenience store. Flavors available were chocolate; vanilla; strawberry; orange sorbet and choco-vanilla combo. On the buffet table, they had small squares of a coffee flavored cake and two kinds of Jell-o (if you want specifics, it's the Jiggler consistency vs the regular, more loose Jell-o). They also had canned pineapples, canned mandarins, canned peaches and fresh orange wedges. - Pricing - Now let's talk pricing. There is no menu, only a drink menu. Mom told me it was $15.99/adult and asked me the ages of the children. Not sure what the cut off age is for each tier for kids pricing is, but the kids aged 7-9 were $9.99/kid and the smaller ones 5 and under were $2.99/kid. I mean, that is a good deal! My nephews barely ate the stir fried stuff but tore up the dessert station, so $2.99 was more than fair. Not sure if they have different pricing for dinner. All in all, is this authentic Mongolian BBQ? I couldn't tell ya. Never been to Mongolia. To sum it up, to me it's a good stir fry, but they do get bonus points from me for: - WARM bread (very few restaurants take this extra step. Makes the cheapest bread 10x better). It was great, but I also do think it's almost a waste to serve these, since everyone seems to get right down to business and go straight to the stations. I took a bite out of curiosity, but I filled myself up with the noodles. Felt bad wasting the rolls. I'll just ask them not to bring them out on the next visit. - fresh ingredients - great value of food for the price - friendly service - the place was neat and tidy - Pro Tip - *Add the chunks of pineapple to your pile. Trust me. *If you don't know what to do when you get to the sauces, Pop will hook you up. He'll probably put a scoop of each as they recommend on the sign, but he'll ask before putting the spicy stuff. *Sriracha - it's not on the table, but if you ask, Mom will hook you up. *Watch out for their makeshift gift shop behind the cash. It is stocked with all sorts of Asian trinkets and my kids eyeballs were glazed over. There's nothing you can really do about it but tell your kids you ain't buying any, but if your kids are like mine, they think they are "prizes". Don't say I didn't warn you LOL. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we'll be back! Stay safe, Friends!

Awesome family friendly restaurant. Casual and comfortable dining. Very attentive, accommodating staff. The food was great! Lots of options as far as vegetables and proteins to add to your Mongolian dish, as well as a great sauce combo.

Ask the Community - Top Mongolian Bar-B-Q

What is the price for lunch and dinner Monday - Friday and Saturday and Sunday?

If I remember correctly it's just over $16. That's for unlimited visits to the buffet.

How much to eat here pls?

About $10 per person if you go up once. If you have multiple plates then it costs a little more.

Do they have chicken nuggets or strips for kids?

No. Not that I'm aware of.

Let's see how the visit went. We were immediately seated when we walked inside. They actually had a nice crowd inside which definitely had them busy. Since it's a dim sum restaurant, they came around several times offering small dishes. We declined until the very end and decided to order from their regular menu. My order was a cup of Egg Drop soup for appetizers and salted and spicy scallop, shrimp and squid. Everything was truly delicious. The soup was very hearty and full of flavor as expected. The seafood was fried perfectly and full of spices. The portion could've been a little more but nonetheless it was really good. To end our meal, we chose their shrimp balls off the dim sum plate. It was really good and flavorful. For our first time here, we were both impressed. Wonderful staff and food to back up the hype. The next time we stop by, it'll purely be items via dim sum :)

There was a line when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon before they even opened! Says a lot. My favorites were the spare ribs, beef stew, a type of taro dish, and the Chinese broccoli. I do wish they had more veggie dishes on the dim sum carts. You fill up fast so choose wisely! Next time would love to either try the lobster, steamed flounder, or roast duck.

She was very pleasant and is super customer focused. We ordered an array of appetizers and two meals. Now...
