We did some pretty…read moreextensive renovations, including knocking down several walls in our kitchen/living room/dining room to create a more open space, gutting/re-doing the entire kitchen, and re-doing our powder room. We also placed brand new flooring (hardwood and tile) and smooth walls into the entire first floor of our house. This process included plumbing/electrical changes and several city inspections. The project (at first) seemed very overwhelming to my husband and myself (as this was the first time we have ever done any renovations), but Rob and Michelle worked with us throughout every step of the process and kept really good tabs of things along the way. They are experienced, knowledgeable, and organized. We didn't have a designer, but Rob and Michelle picked up on our style and helped us with design options as well (including lighting, counter tops, colors). Throughout the process (as with all projects) there were inevitably some things that didn't go exactly as we planned. The pandemic threw a wrench in some of the city inspection scheduling and shipping of products (which was not their fault and completely out of their hands). When hiccups would arise, Rob and Michelle worked with us on options and met us more than halfway on multiple occasions when we had to compromise on a solution. Additionally, we lived in our home throughout the majority of the renovations. We were a little nervous about living in the house during a renovation (especially because my husband was working from home and I have a lot of night shifts), but Rob's team was extremely respectful of our time, privacy, and personal space. And at the end of each day, his team cleaned up thoroughly, which we really appreciated. Rob's team worked long and hard hours, and even worked on multiple weekend days. I also found Rob (on multiple occasions) mentoring / investing his time in teaching some of the young men on his team. As an educator, that was really nice to see. In terms of pandemic safety, Rob and his team always came with masks. On one occasion, one of his workers had a COVID exposure over the holidays. As a healthcare worker myself, I was impressed with Rob's protocol and how honest/up front he was about quarantining to maintain myself and my husband's safety. Finally (and I think most importantly): Rob and Michelle are just all around good people who take pride in the quality of their work. Rob is a perfectionist and always made sure that we were absolutely happy with every step along the way. He and Michelle communicated well, were honest, and very fair. We became good friends with him and his team, and it was fun to interact with them each day. Our new puppy even loved seeing them every day (yes - we are crazy and got a brand new puppy during this renovation process). There was nothing wrong with our bathroom before, it was just outdated. They did a decent job, but now we're noticing mold growing all over the cabinets. We've never had a mold problem before. Mold is growing under the sink, in the drawers, it's especially growing on the pieces of wood where it's been cut and the edges are rough. We told Mark about it, he came out and said maybe the cabinets are sealing too well so he put cushions on the cabinet doors and drawers. He also re caulked the sinks, and put on wall penetration covers. He took moisture readings behind the vanity and said it was saturated with water and proceeded to cut a huge hole in our hallway. Upon inspecting all the pipes, there was no sign of any leaks. We didn't do anything different in the bathroom, but there I was having to scrub mold off my new bathroom cabinets. The only thing that has changed in the last 7 years of having this house is the new bathroom cabinets that we had Gulf Coast Builders build and install, and now there is mold. Now Mark wants $350 for repairing the hole he cut in my wall. We didn't ask him to cut the hole in the wall, and he didn't tell us beforehand that he was going to charge us $350 to repair. Now he's not responding to us since we told him we shouldn't have to pay for the wall damage he created. We've called and texted him and no reply. Attached are all my moldy pictures and the big hole in my wall. I wouldn't recommend this company.

To share a few thoughts: - My home has an odd layout, mixing open-concept with split-level, so rooms do not begin and end in conventional places. This leads to odd requests on projects (e.g. "paint half of this wall"). Miel has been extremely understanding of the house, which has helped me tackle projects in a way that works with my budget. - Texts during the week always have very timely responses, and work is stood behind in the event of a small goof here and there. - As someone who enjoys DIY projects and is very invested in the materials and design choices I make, Miel has been extremely accomodating to develop quotes where I provide various materials (door hardware, marble, etc.). That allows me to get exactly the look I want, without needing to be my own contactor. Five stars does not suggest that there has never been any mistakes ever. Small things are bound to happen here and there, just as I'm sure they would with any contractor. I do think I have a five star partnership with Miel, and when issues arise, I can count on them to be resolved in a reasonable manner. I look forward to more future projects with Miel.

We have also had several furniture unaccounted for without a proper response from them. We were fooled by their sales pitch but the company has failed time and time again on their promises and I wish I could give them negative stars.
