I have been going to Top Hat for the past 9 months and have loved the pizza and the owner who is so, so nice! I have not eaten meat in 12 years and also rarely do dairy so the pizza was mostly for my husband. He likes Hawaiian and he always enjoys it and says it's really good. We also have friends that do keto and Top Hat has a great low-carb, cauliflower crust option for keto followers (contains dairy, eggs). Recently they added plant based options - vegan cheese and vegan meat - to their menu so I had to try it out. I was trying to manage my expectations because getting plant-based pizza right is quite difficult if you don't eat it yourself (flavor is flavor, so vegan or not you don't want bland pizza but often it is.) the owner and I chatted about adding these options to the menu and was really nice and supportive and asked some questions about what vegan options I'd like to see on the pizza. Really accommodating and kind (he always has been when my husband and I stop in!). So, on to the pizza... the vegan pizza was fantastic. Probably the best I've had in the QC. We got a small pizza with black olives, green olives, and onions. So if you hate olives please forgive my addiction. Please support this incredible, local, small business. Very poor customer service. Being rude to a customer that tipped 7$ on a single pizza carryout is crazy work..

The owner of Top Hat is a creep. He hits on me every time I pick up a pizza. This last time he crossed the line. He asked if I was married, asked if I had a boyfriend, winked at me multiple times, asked for my phone number and told me to ignore the porn on his phone. He also admitted that he had been drinking before work. I just wanted my pizza and to get the heck out of there. This is unfortunate because Top Hat makes good pizza and is one of the few places I can get vegan options. I will never step foot in the store again. read more

My husband and I are visiting the area. We had never had deep dish before - were from New York State and I typically have a New York style slice. But I really wanted to try some deep dish and feels like the perfect state for us to try it in. I found this place online not too far from where we are staying. We picked up in person and he said the owners were very friendly kind and seemed to really care about their product. We ordered a large deep dish meat lovers. It was very fresh and hot and oh so delicious. After one slice I was full. I'm so excited to have more for a midnight snack and then more for probably breakfast lunch and dinner tomorrow lol. Lots of delicious sauce excellent crust flavorful and Im normally not much of a sausage person but this meat match up was delightful and it just had an overall great flavor. Was staying here from out of town (Chicago) and this was the only pizza place I could find that would deliver. They said they were short staffed for delivery but was able to deliver for us luckily despite that. I was actually blown away with how good the pizza was. My last n8ght in town and wanted to try one more deep dish. Wow what a pizza, the sausage was incredible on the supreme with black olives. I tried another spot in town and this one blew it away. The sauce was perfect compliment to the crumbled sasage and the crust was incredible. The only downside is that it is take out only. The owners were very socialable as well as the employees. Visiting from California it was my first time ever having Chicago style deep dish pizza, and it was amazing!! We had the veggie, Chicago-style pizza and it was so fresh & cheesy and covered in this delicious sauce. When we picked up our order, the lady that helped us was super nice & the chef was more than happy to tell us about the special pizza sauce. Very friendly amazing pizza & at a great price. Top Hat is a nice escape from chain pizza and quad city staples. They have a cauliflower crust which is pretty good if you've ever tried making it yourself. The deep dish was good. It was quick and cheap. My dog even liked it so much he ate half a pizza off the counter! read more
