Harris pizza makes their own sausage home made.It's crumbly like hamburger, not that preformed little balls of meat and the flavor is amazing.I felt in love with the sausage. On two separate occasions, after that I ordered a small sausage pizza which was the first time in my fifty two year lifespan.That I have ever willingly ate a sausage pizza.And it was amazing. During our trip to the Quad Cities, the internet made it clear that I had to try a Quad-style pizza. With Harris Pizza being the creator of this, it was obvious that we had to get it from here. When we visited in the summer of 2021, their dining room was still closed so we ordered it to go. One thing to know immediately is that their pizza is MASSIVE. Like, I don't even think the two of us finished half of our pie. There are a lot of different toppings to choose from, from original choices to some unique ones. We took a chance on the taco pizza - it was definitely different, and it was alright. It looked like they literally dumped an entire bag of Doritos on top, which I could have done with much less of. NEVER AGAIN!! We had one of the worst experiences at this restaurant. The tables were filthy and hadn't been bussed. We had to ask to have someone wipe our table down. This girl comes out with a dry towel to wipe off the table and only after we said something did she wet the towel. After wiping the table she goes to put away the towel and drops it on the floor! Then she put the wet filthy towel on the shelf under the delivery window as if she is going to use it later! AND SHE STILL DIDN'T BUS THE OTHER TABLES!!! The sink in the women's restroom was clogged. This store used to be a regular stop when we visited the QC but no more. The pizza was so hot it couldn't be served or eaten when it was brought to our table and we were given too few napkins and no utensils. The sausage pizza was under seasoned and is no longer of the quality I am used to and now your service is subpar and probably violating health codes! The management doesn't care as I gave them several days to respond to this review on Facebook and received no response. read more

We just moved to the area and was looking for someplace close for lunch. Found Harris from Yelp so decided to give it a try. Ordered a small pepperoni and sausage (2 adults). When the pizza came out it was perfect, nice and hot. Cheese was that perfect stringiness. Ingredients were fresh. Restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. The bill was very affordable. I visited this establishment at 1:12pm on a Thursday. I waited for what seemed like a good two minutes before I had to go ask for help. The gentleman told me a server would be with me in a minute and the buffet was over..(even though in plain sight they were putting out more pizza and breadsticks). I promise you it was five minutes before the server got off the phone and said "Oh, I didn't see you!" Hmmmm....ya think? I was visiting the Quad-Cities for a wedding and everyone from the area told me that Harris Pizza was a local institution and that I had to try it. Being from New York, my standards might be a bit higher than most, so take my review with however many grains of salt that you wish. I ordered from a college friend's mother's house, planning to pick up the pizza on my way out of town to eat at a rest stop. She recommended that I take some paper towels because the pizza is greasy, which was a great idea since Harris charges for napkins! A small sausage pizza is enough food for two or three hungry people. Lots of sausage, lots of flavorless cheese, and just enough tomato sauce to inform customers that it wasn't a white pizza. After 25 years in Arizona I moved back to the Quad Cities so I could regularly have a few(or many) slices of this QC tradition. The sausage is the staple and It's spicy. The slices are straight cut and you need to recut them or your pizza will fall apart. They use bagel flour in the dough to make it really chewy. It's a perfect blend of chewy and crunchy. The end pieces are worth fighting for. The cheese is always a fresh tasty mozerella blend. I can't say enough about how good it is. There are a dozen places that have knocked off their pizza but I still like the original. Tip: Ask for your pizza to be well done. They get the cheese a nice golden brown. read more

Overrated, bad employees, and they screwed up my order. We ordered a 16 inch pizza half pepperoni and green pepper, half cheese with extra cheese on the whole pizza. They forgot the green peppers and put an insane amount of cheese on the pizza. Like they were trying to make it too cheesy on purpose or something. They offered to cook some green peppers on foil and put them on top of the pizza for me. Haha. I was super hungover and just wanted to get home and eat i didn't have time to wait and they wouldn't give me store credit so i told them it was no big deal and left unsatisfied, with my pizza. This pizza is the same as every "QC style" pizza place, but much worse as far as the quality of the service goes. They all get thier ingredients from Battaglia from Chicago and they all taste pretymuch the same. read more

Some people dislike that the pizza is cut in squares instead of triangles BC the cheese slips off, hey that's Harris! Some people don't like that the sausage is shredded, hey that's Harris! There are some crybabies on here so be forewarned. One guy admitted he was drunk! I have never had (and I have been there a lot) a bad pizza. I used to love Harris Pizza because their pizza is definitely solid. Most of their pizzas revolve around that gravelly sort of sausage, which may not always be what you want, but is tasty when in the mood for it.The crust which is my favorite part of their pizza,is hard and chewy. The things I do like about Harris Pizza are outweighed by the things I don't like. 1) They don't deliver their pizzas. 2)Their pizza is expensive for what it is. 3)Employees always treat me like they're doing me a favor by letting me order their pizza. 4)Not only do they make me come and pick up the pizza, they barricaded one of only two entrances to their parking lot, making it harder to access them. Their reasoning behind this is that they feel people are using their parking lot for a shortcut...which is a weak argument if familiar with the area. What that action boils down to is that they are hampering potential customers' access to their business. I feel they are relying on their reputation as a Quad Cities landmark(like Whitey's and Happy Joe's), and treating customer service with apathy, because they feel that continued business is a given. read more

The jerk who answered the phone said exactly this "Harris Pizza is Closed! Beep", and then laughed. REALLY??!?! I was within calling hours, and am greatly offended. If you don't like your job, go find a NEW ONE! This is my Local HP, and I have NEVER had this sort of disrespect. On a TakeOut order, I tip MINIMUM 20-25% depending on my cash at hand. So, to have some pompous kid speak to me in that way is outrageous, and disgusting. I work a shift wherein I eat dinner between 8,9 pm to 2am. I love the pizza but this is Ludicrous. They know me, they know I OVER-TIP... Well, enjoy your flour dough because I would not GO BACK WITHOUT AN APOLOGY. You used to be cool... Used to... Worst pizza, by far, I have ever eaten. The crust was too thick, too hard and slightly burned. Was in QC visiting and I know that will be my last visit to this place. I am from Rockford IL and am used to real Italian style pizza made by Italians. Besides the inedible pizza, the Locust Street location was very cold, temperature wise, and totally lacked ambiance. This place is horrible, absolutely horrible. To start with, there was one waitress on a Saturday at lunch time. She made sure to let us know how much of an inconvenience we were. We got fried pickles as an appetizer, they were terrible, cut the top of my mouth, and you have to pay for ranch. The pizza is even worse. There is no chance that you ca pick the floppy, drippy, soggy slices up to eat them. And you can barely even get them from the tray to your plate without everything falling off. The sauce is like spaghettio sauce, and the other toppings are just as bad. This place was recommended to us by locals, and touted as the best pizza in town. I feel sorry for the people here if that is the case. Me and my wife are visiting here from Orlando Florida. And decided to look up a place for pizza and discovered the Harris Pizza restaurant. Let's start off by their logo or slogan "World's Best Pizza" .. Hmm, okay? Worlds best sounds like we should give it a shot. So we ordered a small pizza with extra cheese, beef, jalapeños, pepperoni, and bacon bits - sounds good right? We also got wings, which were breaded and couldn't be unbreaded which concerned me because that means they're pre-made. They were kind of cold when they came out, not nearly as hot as the pizza was. Which smelled amazing when it came. First bite, my thoughts were "wow, this is canned sauce!" The beef was chewy, the pepperoni was rubbery, the cheese was good, and the crust was pretty good as well. Overall, I can say that if localists in this area or in Iowa are saying this is the best place for pizza...you've got to get out of that bubble! This place I can compare to Little Caesar's pizza. Pretty gross. Also on our way out, we noticed the piece of paper saying gun free zone. - had we known it was gun free, we would have never stepped in. Harris Pizza is one of my favorite Quad Cities pizza places. I get it about once every other week. The sausage is the best topping, but there are so many combinations that really make this place killer. I prefer sausage with jalapeño peppers. The pizzas are always cooked just right. My wife and two girls ate here a couple of days ago. First time I've eaten inside in about 10yrs, but this is where we always order our take out pizza (2-5 per month). The server was beyond accommodating. He made it a point to find the Nickelodeon channel for our girls. Our girls finally just started eating Harris pepperoni pizza a couple of weeks ago. However we knew the wait would be about 15 minutes, so we ordered them mini corn dogs and waffle fries. They loved them. One ate all the corn dogs and the other ate all the fries. She said that they are better than Chuck-Fil-A. Pizza is what it always is at this location. I can't say that consistency is high at the other locations. But the pizza is always spot on, the same here. I assume that it's all about their oven, as all the other Harris locations have their dough delivered from this kitchen. The pizza sauce is the best that I have had anywhere, including the Big Boys in Chi-Town. It's strong and has a bit of spice to it. The outer crust is really good with tastes of Malt and Molasses. I'm not a crust guy but I will eat there outer edges. The inside is too soft. You can't eat the pizza with one hand. And the long, thin rectangular cuts are quite cumbersome to eat. When we order pick-up, we take it home and cut it into squares. But it's what they do and I'm used to it. The sauce, pepperoni and cheese make up for it! But if I could put the sauce and toppings on a Frank's Napoli (Silvis) pie crust, THAT would be the perfect pizza! read more

I have for many years regarded Harris pizza to be the best in the quad cities but the experience I had last night put an unbelievably bad taste in my mouth. I went to the Bettendorf location with my grandfather, dad, and sister. When we arrived and sat down we noticed it was extremely cold, the waitress explained the heater had been broke for a week and they were waiting on a part to fix it. We ordered our drinks and then our food. My grandfather ordered nachos for himself, my dad and I ordered a small taco pizza to share and my sister ordered breadsticks. After waiting for 20 minutes they finally brought out the nachos for my grandfather, thinking that the rest of the food would be out soon he began eating. For another 20 minutes we waited for the rest of our food! My grandfather was almost finished eating and I decided to get up and go to the bathroom. When I came back I saw they had finally brought out our food. Excited and hungry I sat down to eat and noticed that they had forgot to put chips on our pizza! My grandfather was done eating at this point before the rest of us had even begun so he went to the tell them they forgot the chips. 10 minutes later my father and I had already eaten half the pizza later were so hungry and didn't want to make my grandfather wait any longer, they finally brought out a bowl of chips for us to sprinkle on the pizza. At this point my grandfather made a complaint about how long it took for the food to come out and the waitress said that because his nachos were an appetizer it was done sooner, to which my grandfather pointed out the breadsticks my sister ordered were also an app and they took 40 minutes! He then asked for a check. The waitress brought out a check, $36 and some change, my grandfather gets out his wallet to pay grumbling about how he wishes we would've gone somewhere else. The waitress then comes out with another check, says she gave us a discount and removed the breadsticks because everything took so long, and apologized for everything, $16 and some change. Now despite the wait and there not being chips on the pizza we were happy that she had gone out of her way to make it all right. My grandfather paid and we got up to leave. On the way out the door, the manager Cassie, stops my grandfather and said that he was given the wrong check and needed to pay more. My grandfather explained that because of the wait and the mistakes made by the kitchen staff the waitress discounted our meal. Cassie then argued with my grandpa and told him that she would discount the breadsticks from the meal only. This is unacceptable. Your staff are the ones that messed up the timing of our meal, and the way it was delivered to us, and even if the discount should not have been that great, they are responsible for that mistake as well. We were happy customers until she stopped my grandfather on the way out. Now we are 4 extremely unhappy customers who will tell others about our experience all because Cassie absolutely had to have the extra $14! I've worked in the service industry and I know that when you make mistakes you do whatever it takes to make that customer happy and the waitress last night did that. Cassie put an extremely bad taste in all of our mouths and I'm sure it will be a while before we return to Harris for another meal. read more
