At first I was a little stunned by the price tag for attic insulation, an attic fan, and a bathroom vent. But I asked my buddy who does Hvacs and he said it was actually a very fair price. So I went ahead with the project. From start to finish my experience was 5 stars. They showed up on time, sealed up the house great, did a great job cleaning and insulating. The bathroom vent works great too. The original plan for the attic fan didn't work, so Leor came up with a great plan B. They came back the next week and did an amazing job, the outside of the house looks way better than before! Very unprofessional. I asked for financing multiple times before installation, but after installation was completed they asked for all the money at once. The owner of the company proceeded to blame me for the miscommunication and bother me every single day onwards. He would even raise his voice and talk over me! Even though they should've taken care of the financing, I had to go out in my own to find my own way of financing. I needed to replace two five-ton a/c units and two gas furnaces in the attic along with replacing the ducting in the second floor attic because of dust and possible bacteria. As someone who is not well-versed in this area and doesn't like to get taken advantage of, there is a definite learning curve and a fair amount of research that is required, particularly since the cost can be as much or more than many new cars with more decisions required. I spoke to a bunch of very highly-rated a/c contractors on Yelp. The range from highest to lowest bid was only two to one instead of the more usual three to one. But I'm sure if I kept looking, I could have gotten a bid that was three times the lowest bid. Leor's bid from Top Energy was the lowest, but for me, that was not the sole reason I chose Top Energy. Leor was extremely helpful, accessible and practical. I liked the fact that he didn't think we needed to go with the most expensive equipment. After all, the idea is to reliably cool and heat the house when needed, which doesn't necessarily translate into needing the most expensive equipment. It seemed that everyone was using different equipment and each person had some negative things to say about the other's equipment. I therefore did some independent research to get comfortable about the recommended equipment. Leor's crew was very professional and appeared to do very good work. The A/C has been working great through this latest heat wave.
