*****update 10/7/10***** I don't log into Yelp that often and just found the response from Top Drawer about my review. I stated in my original review quite a few times that I KNEW I was asking them for a favor, that I was outside their return policy. They said in their response that I was "offered store credit" - my issue was that I wasn't offered anything, I had to beg for it, while being treated horribly in the mean time. And as for a missing garter, they pulled the bra out of the bag and went over it with a fine tooth comb. Nothing was mentioned at the time about anything being missing. They also mentioned my "friend" that was with me handing out rude comments. Now, not that I don't consider her my friend, but that was my mother with me. And if you know her, you know how adverse she is to confrontation. She did --eventually-- get upset and swear at how I was being treated, but I got her to calm down, knowing it wouldn't help. I will state again, that I was thankful for being given the store credit, just not for the way I was treated. *****original review 9/12/09***** I had been prepared to write a fairly glowing review about Top Drawer, until this morning. I had purchased a long line bra to wear under my wedding dress... However, it didn't fit under the dress and I needed to return it. It was now outside their 10 day return window, and the tags had been cut off. Now, it had only been worn once to try it on, and I still had all the tags, but I still knew I was completely throwing myself on their mercy. The first woman that was helping me was wonderful, offering me store credit which I was perfectly willing to accept considering they were bending the rules for me. This was the moment when the glowing recommendation and review was being written in my head. Then another woman came out to the counter, with an attitude so big I couldn't believe it fit in the the store. She was dripping with disdain, admonishing me about how everything was wrong about this, that they "believed the garment had been worn" and essentially just couldn't believe that I was bothering her with my request. And, if I remember correctly, she was the one that helped me purchase it in the first place. My issue is not that they were doing me a favor - I am more than aware they were. It was the horrible way I was treated, and the attitude I had to endure from the sales woman. So, I will be going back to use up my store credit, but will never purchase another thing from them. And I could never recommend that anyone else put themselves in a situation where they would be needing to ask a favor from that woman. read more

I have been coming here for few years and I love everything about this store . I have had excellent experience every time I came. It's a unique experience, staff is very friendly and they understand what you need and try to go above and beyond to help and make sure you leave the store happy. At the very last minute, before my daughter's wedding, we had a big problem with her specialty bustier for her strapless wedding dress. As a NJ transplant I panic googled and by a wonderful stroke of luck, I found Top Drawer in Exeter! I called and explained what had happened and what I needed, fully expecting to hear that it was too late to special order the low back, strapless bustier, but, instead, a very friendly person reassured me that they had several kinds IN STOCK and I could bring my daughter in to be fitted that day! When I arrived at Top Drawer we were greeted by three kind and helpful sales associates who fitted my daughter perfectly and offered her several beautiful choices! Not only that, but we also found some lovely lingerie to pack for her honeymoon. We were treated with care, compassion and professionalism and we left with happy hearts! Now I have a reliable place to find undergarments where I can actually try on, (rather than order online, wait, and send back...) My only disappointment is that, in the panicked state I was in, I cannot remember the names of the helpful staff members so I could thank them in my review You will love this store! read more

I was devastated when Salon Grazie closed their store near me. My hairdresser said one of her customers said this place was tops so despite the 35 minute drive, I went. She was right. The bra I was wearing was totally worn out which I knew, but also the wrong size. My fitter brought me several styles until I found one that felt and looked good. I am 72 so that was a challenge. Their personal attention makes all the difference. I came home wearing a new one and even my husband noticed -- unheard of! I've been wearing 38DDD for a while and Bri helped me figure out my actual size - let that girl fit you, she knows exactly what she's doing!!! I tend to skimp on spending money on bras, and she guided me to one that, while slightly more expensive than I would normally spend, was still a great deal and i will be wearing every day. I had such a wonderful experience at Top Drawer. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and invited to be sized. This was definitely the best bra fitting I have ever had. I had literally given up on finding a bra in my size, it seemed nearly impossible to find. I have an issue finding bras since having a smaller back and rather large cup size gets complicated in the bra world. I usually don't find my size and if I do they are never stylish. Every bra that was brought to me throughout the fitting was awesome, I wish I could have purchased them all. She knew exactly what sizes to bring in each style of bra and it was great how informative she was. I was able to purchase everything I wanted and they were able to order another color for me that they did not have in stock which was great! I was absolutely thrilled about my experience and purchases. I am so glad I was able to hear the commercial on the radio and made the decision to come. I would absolutely recommend this place to my family and friends and encourage anyone who really needs a good bra fitting, or someone with expertise in this department to make the stop here. I have been on the hunt for a great bra. thankfully one of my friends recommended top drawer. My bra size is 32DDD....not a size I come by too often. When I walked into the shop I was pleasantly greeted by Beth. The second I walked in the door it was her mission to find me a bra that fit me. By my surprise I found 5 bras that fit perfectly! At other bra stores I'd get stuck by an ugly tan bra because all the attractive ones were for little boobs! I'm finally wearing a bra and I don't feel like i'm going to explode out it. I visited Top Drawer at the recommendation of a friend who had an excellent experience shopping for nursing bras. In search of a "stylish" nursing bra, I visited the store and had a great experience with one of their associates being fitted for a bra. While the price of the bra was much higher than any bra I had ever purchased, I thought of this as an investment and went ahead with the transaction. After about 3 months of wearing this bra, however, the under wire began to poke out causing much discomfort. I called the store to find out their return policy and they informed me that they could take a look at the bra and see if they could help. However, once I went into the store, the associates told me that because of the age of the bra and the condition, it was unlikely that the manufacturer would return the bra. The store was kind enough to contact them but I was told that the company would not replace the bra and instead the bra was stitched up. While I appreciate that Top Drawer stitched up the bra to make it wearable, I'm very disappointed that they would stock a bra who's manufacturer does not stand behind their product. I was told repeatedly that the age of the bra made it nonexchangeable but having spent $78 dollars on a bra, I would hope that 3 months was not the expected shelf life. This bra was not my only nursing bra and I can't imagine how I would have "abused" this article of clothing beyond typical use. In fact, I treat all my bras the same and have many, less expensive bras, that have lasted longer-5+ years longer. I try to support local businesses and I don't mind paying a little more money once in a while to do so. However, it seems in this case my faith in the small business world was misplaced as I ended up spending too much on a bra that did not last and unfortunately, both the store and the company would rather blame their customers than their products. read more

Cute shop, but I experienced subpar customer service after I said "no thank you" to being fitted. I know my size, and I asked the woman to help me find some bras that size. She walked back to the counter and never returned. There was no one else in the store! Too bad for you, fool! I gladly spent my hard earned money elsewhere; got pj's and two beautiful bras ($226)! I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience that I had at Top Drawer. I have never been able to find a bra that fits comfortably, giving the lift and support that I need and look that I want. I have been measured and assisted at Victoria's Secret several times, not only was their measurement inaccurate but their service is intimidating. Top Drawer is the complete opposite experience, the service is phenomenal, the woman I worked with devoted her undivided attention, without being overbearing, to helping me find just the right bras. She knew everything that could possibly known about bras, their fit, style and comfort and chose options that she knew would be right for me. I actually had fun bra shopping, I did not know it was possible. I ended up with 2 bras, within my budget, that are beautiful, flattering and comfortable AND I left feeling good about myself. I am going to start including Top Drawer in my tours of the area when female friends and relatives come to visit, because in all of the 6 other states in which I have lived and bought underwear, I have never been so happy with this service and product! read more

They staff here is very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. I showed up here to get help finding a bra/bustier that would work with a strapless bridesmaid dress. I was a little panicked because it was only a week before the wedding when I realized the dress didn't fit me as well as I had thought, and without the right undergarments it wasn't going to work. The woman who assisted me was SO helpful and friendly. She patiently showed me all the options and helped me try on different styles and sizes along with the dress. The problem needed a little creativity to solve, and she helped me think it through and came up with a lot of good ideas that never would have occurred to me. Even though I had shown up right before they were closing, she didn't rush me, and didn't pressure me into buying anything, even though I was happy to. i was so grateful and relieved-- shopping is not my forte and situations like that stress me out. I have never used Yelp before but I want potential buyers to beware! I went into this boutique on the recommendation of a friend. At first it seemed pretty good. The sales associate was professional and discrete. I tried on many bras and settled on one. I was assured I would be able to return the product if I had my receipt. I opted to wear the bra out of the store and the sales assoc removed the tags. Bad move on my part -- they won't take the product back without the tags attached -- no one told me this and I didn't even remove the tags!!! The sales associate did. Now I am stuck with a $62 bra ( average cost ladies!) that I don't like. I visited the store, was told I could not even exchange the product; requested a call back from the Manager and I never got that call. BAD BAD BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. The associate even said sales were down and attributed it to the economy and the tough winter --- I am thinking it's more than that! Shame on you Top Drawer Exeter! read more
