I love this store. I began coming about a year and a half ago, and my visits quickly became a bright spot in my week. The staff are friendly, kind, attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the flowers offered are incredible, thoughtfully sourced, and difficult to find elsewhere. You can order professional arrangements or make your own bouquet out of the flowers sold by the stem. I've been doing the latter, and it's a regular source of joy and creativity for me, and it's absolutely helped with the winter doldrums that often come with being a New Englander. If you need a hostess gift for a party or holiday, there are plenty of options at Cymbidium, ranging from artful seasonal bulb terrariums to tea, macarons, and homemade candles. They also always have lots of user-friendly houseplants to choose from. I've had really good luck with the plants I've bought, including some gorgeous orchids. It may sound corny, but I like knowing that I'm supporting a small business owned and operated by wonderful people, as small brick & mortars that help give a town character are becoming fewer and farther between. I'd rather spend a little bit more for something truly unique and lovely than grab a quick, nondescript bunch of flowers at a grocery store chain. I read that arrangements are small and expensive. Called the owner, she was super honest and said the arrangements are on the smaller side, but the price reflects the quality of the flowers and unique designs. I was skeptical, but decided to give it a shot. What I like: - owner was able to put together an arrangement on short notice, even offering to personally deliver the flowers of her driver couldn't get to it - arrangement was gorgeous - flowers were super high quality - arrangement contained a variety of flowers. Some were more common, others I had only seen on rare occasion, and three of them I have never seen What I don't like: - wish it had the same "wow" effect based on size that it has on quality and uniqueness. I understand this stores primary business is floral arrangements; walked in here the other day and the women in the shop were so rude to me. First they didn't even want to acknowledge or say hello to me, and second I gave the store a compliment, and they just brushed me off and continued their conversation. Almost like they decided I was not going to be buying anything, and didn't want to bother with me. I was dressed nicely, friendly, not sure what that was about, but it wicked turned me off. She had great suggestions for flowers that were in season and in the color scheme we were looking for (green, orange, & merlot). She was also very respectful of our budget. The arrangements were gorgeous - the most beautiful I have ever seen. I loved everything: the bouquets (bride, MOH, bridesmaids, flower girls, & mothers), centerpieces, guestbook table pieces, boutonnieres, and the large arrangement on the pergola we were married under. Earlier this week I attended a post holiday party. To show my appreciation to the hostess I had a bouquet of flowers sent to her from this florist. I chose a small signature bouquet at the highest cost within the cost range. In addition $12 was added for delivery. Understandable. The total came to $57. However when I saw the flowers that night I was shocked at how tiny the bouquet actually was. It was not small. It was tiny. While it was very pretty it was not worth $57. I was very disappointed since the reviews for this florist were so high. I hope this was an exception. read more

This was my first experience with Cymbidium Floral and it will not be my last. I contracted them for the 50th wedding anniversary of my parents, an event I was planning on the fly while working, traveling, and dealing with the holidays. Even though I was fairly last minute in my planning, Jessica and Teresa picked up my slack and were very responsive. I never even got a chance to visit their shop or send them vision boards or photos of what I had in mind, yet they were able to produce beautiful arrangements and a garland that exactly reflected what I had hoped for based only on a couple of brief conversations as that's all that time allowed. They are professional, talented, and reasonably priced. They crafted gorgeous displays that seamlessly blended both northern and southern floral elements as my parents fell in love in the south and married in the north. Jess not only did an amazing job on my flowers this weekend for my wedding at a vineyard in New Hampshire but she also worked with my new husband to put together a surprise display that was waiting for me when I checked into the hotel we were staying at. I had a pretty specific vision of what I wanted for the wedding (cherry blossom floral arch, giant bridal bouquet, boutonniere's with custom golf tees) and Jess brought it to life exactly how I had imagined. Unfortunately my wedding is in Boston at the Lenox over a holiday weekend, and my flower order did not meet her minimum to make it worth her while to drive down, even paying for delivery. I've seen her photos of flowers she's done at the Ritz Carlton Boston, but once she understood I wanted candle centerpieces instead of flowers, even paying for delivery fees, I guess it wasnt worth the ROI to do my other floral work. She even gave my mom estimates for candle holder rentals, etc. and my mom was shocked when we got the "thanks but no thanks" email. I live in California so doing this long distance was hard enough. I ordered red roses for valentine's day from Cymbidium. When I got there to pick them up, they weren't traditional red roses. They looked near death and I asked about it and they said they were fine. I got married on August 7, 2010 and I used Cymbidium Floral for my wedding flowers. I would like to start by saying that Jessica (the owner) is a complete sweetheart. From the moment I walked into the shop and met with Jessica about my ideas, I immediately got a great feeling. First of all, it helps that the shop is adorable. But as soon as I started talking with Jessica and explained my vision of what I wanted the overall feeling of the wedding to be, the color scheme, and what I was envisioning for my centerpieces, she seemed to know exactly what I was talking about. I had found a picture of a centerpiece that I loved online and was looking to create something similar, without the hefty price tag to go along with it. I met with at least 3 other florists who spoke with me for about 5 minutes each and basically turned me away when I showed them the picture and told them my budget. I made sure to mention that I was willing to be creative to get the cost down, but nobody seemed to care. My budget was a pretty decent budget too. Nothing to write home about, but not pennies either. I finally found Jessica online and hoped that she would understand what i was looking for and she did, right away. She listened to what I wanted and then offered suggestions as far as ways to make it a little different than the original photo and ways to keep the cost down. She was always super helpful, professional, easy to talk to, responsive, and when her assistant Theresa who is equally as wonderful showed up to set up on my wedding day, she was very timely and helpful as well! Cymbidium did all of my flowers for my wedding day, including bouquets and bouts and ceremony flowers, and they were all gorgeous. All of the flowers were beautiful and healthy, and even stayed that way for a few days after the wedding.
