This is a joint review for Barbara, owner of Stellaloona Bakery and Rebecca, owner of Branch and Bloom. These two ladies worked closely to make my day a success and I cannot imagine leaving a review for either that doesn't include the other!
Barbara checked in about a week or two prior to my wedding to ask for my florist. She does a beautiful job of incorporating the flowers of your bridal bouquet into the wedding cake, if that is something you choose to do! I had loved her design so I sent her the name and number of my florist. I am a teacher so on the Wednesday before my wedding, I received two calls while teaching: one from Barbara and one from Branch and Bloom. I also received text messages. I was very confused because my florist at the time was not Branch and Bloom.
It turns out while I was in school, Barbara had learned that my former florist had "lost" my contract, and better yet, was not honoring it. She took the time to call Rebecca at Branch and Bloom, explain the situation, and ask her to do the flowers for my wedding with THREE days notice! Rebecca did not have to accept this challenge but she did and these ladies both set to work to make my day stress free and beautiful with their respective artistries! To repeat, these ladies had set to work solving my problem BEFORE I even knew there was a problem. It was absolutely amazing.
Barbara went above and beyond in securing my wedding a florist with such a short amount of time left until the event and Rebecca is a rock star for taking on my wedding with three days notice. It was certainly meant to be though because both my flowers and my cake came out beautiful! The flowers choices Rebecca made were easily a thousand times better than those of the former florist despite the price remaining affordable! It truly says something about a person who can put together such beautiful bouquets so quickly without compromising the beauty of the flowers! My mom remarked on how well the bouquets, including the bridal bouquet in the toss, held all through the night as well!
Of course, everyone loved Barbara's cake! Barbara's cake was maple flavored and tasted like the perfect bite of pancakes and syrup on a Saturday morning. So many people went back for seconds so we are lucky we ordered an extra cake top from Barbara! The flower design on the cake was simple and elegant, just what Ryan and I were hoping for. We felt very honored to visit Barbara prior to the wedding to chat and thank her in person! Lots of hugs were exchanged and Barbara truly ended up being more than just the woman who baked our gorgeous cake! We were so happy to have her join us on our special day and we cannot wait to go back and visit her!
We cannot thank these two ladies enough for taking what should have been a very stressful event and solving the problem quickly and efficiently! I am proud to say that no tears were shed over FlowerGate due to these two! Ryan and I highly recommend Barbara of Stellaloona and Rebecca of Branch and Bloom for all of your cake and flower needs as they are both women who go above and beyond for their clients!
