When I was ready to start trying on shoes, I was assisted by Kaitlyn. (sorry if I'm spelling your name wrong!) Kaitlyn was extremely knowledgeable about every shoe on the market. She was able to go into detail when answering all of my questions. She was also extremely patient and kind. I knew what I was looking for and ended up going back over to the clearance section because the shoe I wanted had sold out and I did not want to order anything. I ended up walking back over to Kaitlyn because she knew what I was looking for. Kaitlyn was so incredibly kind and patient that I did not feel rushed or pressured. She had the best attitude and the best costumer service I've ever seen. I would rather spend more money and shop at this store, than order anything online or go to any other store because the customer service is phenomenal. Thank you so much for your help today!

Over the years, I've spent thousands of dollars there and referred numerous family members and friends because I believed they stood behind the products they sold. Unfortunately, that trust is gone. I purchased a pair of Clarks on May 9th specifically for an upcoming vacation. After wearing them ONCE to dinner, I realized they were too snug and needed a wider size. I returned to the store June 9th with the original box and receipt, fully intending to exchange them for the exact same shoe in a wider width. The only issue? The soles showed the slightest amount of wear from being worn once. Despite the fact that I was requesting an exchange--not a refund--and despite what I believed was compliance with their stated return policy, I was told the shoes were no longer in "new condition" and could not be exchanged. How exactly are customers supposed to determine whether a shoe is truly comfortable and fits properly without wearing it beyond a few steps in a store? Shoes often feel different after an actual outing. Refusing to exchange a pair that was worn once for a few hours is an unreasonable policy, especially for a retailer that charges premium prices. I have never minded paying more for quality footwear and good customer service, but this experience demonstrated a complete lack of flexibility and customer appreciation. They clearly don't value their customers and don't care about anything other than making that initial sale. There are plenty of other shoe retailers offering the same quality products with much more customer-friendly return and exchange policies. After years of loyalty and thousands of dollars spent, I can no longer recommend Alec's Shoes and would caution others to carefully consider their return policy before making a purchase. If you wear the shoes even once to determine whether they actually fit comfortably, don't expect any accommodation if they don't work out. **I was so surprised by the way they handled the situation that I took photos of the exchange to share with this review**

I also spoke with Darla (manager, I hope I have her name right) and she was every bit as nice. 2. The selection of footwear and clothing. They have a very nice selection of quality products. If you are tired of buying cheap sneaks, splurge and get something nice here. 3. Tidy Store. Even though it was busy, shoes and clothing were never on the floor or out of place unless a customer was trying them on. Shoes were in the correct boxes and boxes were ordered logically which made it easy for me to find my size. Also they will order items from other stores and call you if their store doesn't have your size. 4. Love their 20% off sale. Makes justifying buying expensive products a bit easier. 5. Generous return policy where they let you try shoes indoors for 30 days which gives you time to know for sure if they will work for you. If you need to return, just bring items, packaging and receipt in for refund or exchange within the return timeframe. I had driven by many a time. I'm really glad I decided to stop in and shop. The employee was having a conversation with another customer when their conversation dropped off I had a very quick question. Instead of giving me a very quick answer she told me she was working with another customer and that she would be with me when she got the chance. I said OK I'll wait. I was looking for girls sandals size 2. I was with my two granddaughters. She came over and showed us where the sandals were. My granddaughter grabbed a pair of gold Egyptian style sandals which where to inappropriate. She needed a play sandal somethings she could run in. The employee asked me what was wrong with all I told her that they were too fancy someone her age. Employee said to me well let me tell you they're not really fancy this is what all the kids her age are wearing by the way she's six years old. She walked away abruptly the employee that is and turned the corner and went to the bench that we were sitting on grabbing my Granddaughters jacket and yelled out who owns this when I said that it was ours she held it up like between two fingers and said I can't have clothes all over the place. We left it there because we were not finished trying on shoes. I was there to buy two or three pairs of sandals and sneakers for each of my granddaughters. She did not help us at all with The older granddaughter. We did find a pair of sneakers for her. Let me add in right here if they did not need those right away for Easter Sunday I would have not purchased anything and I had walked out of the store because of this employee. I understand that we all have bad days but sometimes when you're working with customers who are being as nice as they can to you I think you should try to give some of that back. So we got two boxes one pair of sandals one pair of sneakers for each of the girls I went over to pay for them she was nowhere to be found so I could put the two boxes one on top of the other on the counter and just stood there waiting she eventually showed up and as she was bringing up my order she also added in another pair of shoes that she had left on the counter. I Kindly said to her oh those are not mine I have just these two pair here. She ended up giving me long instructions about how I should not have approached the register I should have stood back holding my two boxes and waited for her to call me forward. If I had done that this adding of the other would not have happened. Dah really? I believe when you see an empty cash register that's where you go to pay for your merchandise I did not see any signs stating otherwise. She finished my order I thanked her kindly and left the store. After thinking about it I should've taken the shoes and left them there. I will never return to that store again. I spent close to $100 and got treated like like Dirt. I realize these are hard times and that they were a lot of mental issues going around. I suggest this girl maybe join some sort of a group because her anger was at a high-level I could tell she was very frustrated with something and was taking it out on customers in the store.
