I've donated to and shopped at this store for years, believing in its mission to support the Arlington community through donated items. But lately, it feels like they've lost their way. Prices are high--even for incomplete items--and there's a serious lack of transparency. I recently looked at a used LEGO set marked "mostly complete." Priced at 25$. When I asked for details, I was told someone counted the pieces, but they refused to share how many were counted or what was actually included. Instead, I got a dismissive comment by the manager about how it sells for more on eBay?? If someone actually counted the pieces, why not be honest and mention it in the description? Is it 100 pieces missing or just 10-20? That's a big difference, and buyers deserve clarity if I'm going to spend 25$ on it. Worse, when I asked questions, the staff were rude and defensive, showing no interest in helping or being honest. It's disappointing and frustrating to be treated that way--especially by a place that claims to serve the community. I'm done. After years of supporting this store, I won't be going back. I won't support rude people who don't care about the community or the customers who make their work possible. I'm starting to question whether this is truly a non-profit store anymore. I love this place! I only wish it had been open when I was pregnant/when my son was really little because it would have saved me a ton of money and time! They have everything you could ever need for a kid, and for a great price and in very good condition. The shop is clean and nicely organized. I've been very pleased so far and have supplemented my child's book collection and clothing with finds from Little Fox. Can't recommend this place enough. read more

What a terrific little shop inside the library! Things are so cheap, it's unbelievable. I come as much as I can and I have bought a ton of great outfits for my 3 year old niece for peanuts! No piece of clothing is more than $5! Such a wonderful service to the community! The staff is very kind. Everyone is a volunteer. This is a great place and I highly recommend it if you would like some gently used cheap children clothing, toys, maternity clothes, and accessories. read more

I go to this place at least twice a month. There's always something new here ... and always at incredibly low prices. They often run special sales which also makes it fun to visit often. Especially given that the shop is run by volunteers, the store has an inviting, organized set up. The toys are in great condition. I only wish they were open on the weekends, but they're more or less open when the library is. read more

I love this place! They have a great selection of baby clothes, books, and toys (and stuff for bigger kids too), and I love the peace of mind that comes with not having to spend big bucks for an outfit that will only fit for a short time. I try to stop by every month or so to check out the inventory. As an Arlington resident, I also like that the proceeds benefit the Fox Library. read more

This is a long overdue review. The Fox shop is really the best. Great prices on gently used toys, clothes, and baby gear. Profits benefit the library. I can give my kid a reasonable budget and he can get something that's not awful junk. I'm so glad that it has reopened. The hours aren't great but if you can get there the store is lovely. read more

Arlington families are clearly generous with their donations - for instance, when I went in last week there was an almost new Kelty backpack for sale. I bought my son a cool glow in the dark solar system puzzle that had never been opened for $2. However, what I loved most was the relaxed attitude. Parents and kids enjoying the shop, playing with toys and most importantly, buying stuff. All proceeds support the Fox Library, arguably one of the best places in Arlington for parents and kids to hang out. read more

As you can see by my previous review, I *LOVED* The Little Fox Shop. We lived a pleasant walk away, and it was part of a weekly routine for my son while he was a toddler. But in the past couple of years, I've noticed a change occurring... slowly, the prices for used children's clothes, shoes, toys, etc have been creeping, in some cases vaulting ever higher (other reviews have detailed this also). It's as if someone realized that there was a profit to be made, which is a bummer! It means that I no longer bring my hand-me-downs there, and instead I give them away for free or bring them to goodwill, or occasionally sell them on one of the parents' groups on facebook. And sadly, it means that I look elsewhere when I try to buy used things in my own effort to be "green" and support institutions -- now small businesses, and the good will and salvation army. read more

Awesome!! All volunteers. All proceeds go to charitable causes, namely the Fox Library which houses it. Great people, great goods, proud to have it in my community. And while this sounds, and is a bit of cheerleading, the stuff they have in there is top notch, and like any store of this kind the inventory rotates so some days huge finds others not as many but the quality and price is always right. read more

This resale shop is awesome! While I browse, my daughter can hang out and play with all the toys. Every time I've been, I was able to find something at a great price (an awesome Fisher-Price high chair for $7, a small wooden table with four chairs for $20, clothes for a few bucks and a great Dora doll, practically unused, for a couple of dollars for my friend's daughter). The staff is helpful (most people there are volunteers, which is also amazing, plus the fact that all the proceeds go to the library), and it's just a nice little store at a good location (on the first floor of the Fox Library in East Arlington) with a great decor, a nice atmosphere and a very informative website: http://www.littlefoxshop.com/ read more

This is a great little shop and the best part...it still seems like only a few people know about it. It isn't crowded and maintains the quaintness of being a little hole in the back of a library. I picked up a couple of adorable winter hats for my baby girl for $2.50 a piece and a like new 'Bruder' garbage truck for my son (retails for $40) for $5. The clothes seemed to be low to middle market brands: Old Navy, Gap...a lot of Cherokee, etc but all in very good used condition. At $2-3 a piece I'm not sure what else you'd expect. They have a fantastic book section where small hardcovers go for 25 cents! And all proceeds go to benefit the library. read more

Really great source for low-priced clothes, carriers, and misc. gear. I got most of my maternity clothes here. Only real disadvantage: it's inside a library, so when my baby is crying I feel bad going in with her. read more

The store is always well organized and clean. Last week I purchased a (nearly brand new) series of books from Rosemary Wells and others I was about to order on Amazon. Everything came to $2.50! Really neat store with lots of different items from clothes to toys. The clothes tend towards the well-worn, play-time clothes. Don't expect to find high-end types of items, but worth checking out if you're in the area. Located in the Arlington library's Fox Branch, you can even check out library books. read more

My favorite place for kids clothes, I'm only sad that I just discovered it (especially because we are moving) I will probably come here when I visit. Everything is set up so nicely and isn't overwhelming like thrift stores can be. My only complaint is the limited hours. This is by far one of the best places to shop for used baby clothing and equipment. I've gotten so many incredible deals including half a dozen "end of season" pieces at 50 cents apiece that my son will be able to easily wear for the next two months. I live in the neighborhood and am so happy to have such a wonderful used children's toy/clothing shop to support. My granddaughter is two years old and most of her clothes and toys I have bought her are from the Fox. The shop workers keep everything neat and organized and are very kind when us grandparents shop with our little ones. (whose grandchildren tend to run off and go to the toy area..or out to the library!). I am a teacher as well and have bought great toys and games there as well. The prices overall are great(I've shopped in surrounding towns used children's shops which are much higher). I would highly recommend a visit to this wonderful shop. read more

I like going to this store with my 6 month old son. There are toys for him to play with, and other kids for him to interact with. The clothes are pretty used, but there's more than that there- onesies, hats, crib sheets, books, maternity clothes. Everything is donated- so it's been worn by more than one kid before it ends up here. I have mostly bought books and toys, but i found two very used gap onesies for $2.50 each. But it's close to my house and a good excuse to get out of the house, so we try to go once a week. read more

I always find at least one toy, book, or clothing item here for my toddler. I live browsing and also love to pass on the clothes my girl has outgrown. They also have and take feeding and other supplies which is great. A good place for gently used items to buy or donate and prices ate totally reasonable and proceeds to support our super public libraries. read more

i love this place. I get lots of great kids' clothes (Gap, LL bean, etc.) for usually $2-3 apiece. They also have lots of gear, things like strollers, baby swings, boppies, etc., that come through and sell for a fraction of their real price. Things move fast so it pays to stop in often. And the money supports the local library that we love. read more

They have everything you could need for your kiddos here. Don't buy it new before you stop in to see if they have it. Good-quality clothes (infant - teen), toys, baby gear (strollers, bouncy seats, Bumbos, baby carriers, etc), maternity clothing, shoes galore, sports gear (ballet shoes, tights, soccer cleats, helmets, shin guards), and probably more that I am forgetting. All at a reasonable price and they discard anything that is soiled or ripped. Proceeds help to keep the Fox library operating! read more

I am my 5-year old are huge fans of The Little Fox Shop. We go there at least twice a month, on Wednesday evening when they are open until 7:30. She loves to play with their toys while I browse the racks for clothes and books (and Daddy reads his book out in the library). We even have playdates there with another mom-daughter Little Fox fan pair! The clothes they cary are good quality, we've found so many finds over the last couple of years - from swim suits to snow pants, princess dresses to lovely skirts, great toys and great books. We've never left without buying something! We are beyond maternity clothes and baby gear but there are so many good deals on that too.
