I don't know what chemicals etc. are in the water that was dumped but the fluid was dumped right next to fairly new plants and left an unsightly hole in the gravel. Further, I don't know what if any harm may be done to the new plants. I have ZERO tolerance for contractors who act disrespectfully towards the property where they're working. The place where the water was dumped was just a couple of feet from the driveway. If the water was dumped in the driveway, it would run down to the curb and follow the slope of the street as drainage and NOT risk any harm being done to our new plants. If we notice any adverse changes to our plants, there will be some follow-on activity with P&L. Just careless. I have to admit that I am skeptical of any company that provides "virtual quotes" without seeing the work site for themselves. But they requested a couple of pictures of old water heater installation to assess the job, provided a quote "sight unseen", and did the work with no extra cost added (always a concern with virtual quotes). It was a nightmare situation as a previous contractor broke it and left me abandoned and my main water supply wouldn't turn off so I could literally not sleep for 24 hours as I had to empty a bowl every 30 to 60 minutes (the supply valve is low so it would not accommodate anything larger underneath) or it would flood and ruin the new flooring that was just installed. It did ruin my face board that I had just had installed the day before. He kept blaming me saying by turning the giant nut I somehow ruined the pipe which I don't understand but I did everything to try and loosen the bolt and I found no special instructions or tool that specified one as a necessity to use on it in all my research or that I had done anything wrong, but it had been there for 30 years and was fused on tight and wouldn't budge even with two vise grips, and with the flooding happening I was desperate to get it removed so I thought that continuous commentary was strange. He also said I had to loosen that nut clockwise as if it were reversely threaded but was told the opposite multiple times in my research so again I'm very confused. If something had been critically missed I wish he would've at least told me. I didn't see how he removed it. He walked off with my channel locks which I informed him of immediately but luckily he changed his mind and returned them before I had to leave the next day after he first said he couldn't. I had been thru two days of hell from the previous contractor with 8 hours sleep over three nights. But he did the job and it took him no more than 15 to 20 minutes. There's a really big gash in my wall now where the valve is but I guess he had to do that to cut the pipe. I will have to find a wall cover plate or something to hide it.

While…read morethe cause of my leak seems to be resolved (at least for now) it did bother me that I took the time to ask several times with the dispatcher "Taneea"(sp) and she said there was no fee to diagnose and I kept asking are you sure because in order to see where the leak is coming from my bathroom upstairs from the shower and where it settling we need to look at the pipes underneath where the drywall is and that involves cutting the ceiling drywall. And I asked her again several times if there's any charge for leak tracing or anything she was leaving out just to look and see before repairing and she said no, there's no diagnostic charge. They get here and tell me it's gonna be $125 just to cut the drywall and I just don't understand how there can be such a disparity between what I verified by phone and what I was being told now. And even if I give them the benefit of the doubt that the dispatcher was mistaken (though that's something very strange for a dispatcher who works for and represents a company to say, if not true) the fact that she did tell me that clearly, you would think to keep a customer they would stand by their own word, so not a great first impression. I still paid them $455 to change the cartridge in my shower, but they would not take five or ten minutes to cut up two 6"x6" holes in the drywall and look inside to see if there's any other extensive damage or leaking. I may just leave it for now and keep an eye for any signs of staining or moisture rather than deal with drywall repair. I still will inspect around the electrical where the ceiling fan canopy is and remove it from the ceiling to see if there's any water damage to the fan and light fixture or if it can be salvaged and still works once all is dry and I can restore power to the room. But they refused to look for any signs below to ensure there were no other signs of a leak unless I paid more. Another thing is with a large hole behind the shower faucet escutcheon where the leak occurred what's to keep another cartridge from failing and leaking right down into the room below and getting into the electrical and drywall and ruining another ceiling fan? I wish they'd have taken the time to tell me how to seal off that wall behind the faucet handle or given me suggestions but they just kind of did their job and left. They didn't offer me any advice or tips to prevent this again or set my mind at ease, and taking the time to do that would have made me feel more "taken care of" and built a rapport as a new customer. They just wanted to do the job I asked and go. So while I have no other complaints so far, they didn't go the extra mile or make me feel reassured at all for such a serious issue. It was just a "job" to cross of their list and not spend a second longer than necessary to show, discuss or reassure.

So I found Jason on Google and texted him to just go out to the property and take a look. Jason actually wanted to troubleshoot the problem, and me being an engineer I appreciate that instead of just jumping into replacing something, which is what the other guy wanted to do, he wanted to troubleshoot and find out exactly what was wrong. Jason spent some time going to the store picking up a pressure gauge and installing it on the putside faucet. He then instructed the tenant to flush the toilets at different times of the day, just to see if they can hear the noise they heard again. So the tenants supposedly never heard the noise again, even though they were complaining about it for a while, and I told Jason to send me a bill for his time and for the parts. Jason actually refused to invoice me because he said he didn't really provide the real solution, so therefore he cannot charge me. I insisted that he at least charged me for an hour And for the parts comma but He still hasn't sent me the bill. From the way he was describing with the problem wasn't how to troubleshoot it, I know he's an old school experienced plumber who's not going to replace parts willy-nilly. The fact that you wouldn't charge because he didn't really find the problem, since it went away on its own, tells me he's an honest person with integrity and is not looking out there to make a quick buck. He wants to do the right thing by the customers.

Jason came to our rescue!…read more We've noticed a very faint gas leak coming from our fireplace key valve for quite some time and my husband finally decided to call the gas company to check it. Well, he called them at 4 PM on a Friday and we quickly learned that may not have been the best idea. They shut off all of our gas and locked us up until the small leak was fixed! Not only is it hard to find a plumber who works on gas lines (about 9/10 plumbers do not do this), it's also tough to get someone out on a weekend Jason came as a referral from our chimney cleaning company and he was incredible. He came out same day (on a Saturday) to take a look and then was able to fix it on Monday/Tuesday. The best part? He was able to fix it by just removing one block from the wall (our beloved 1960s slump block wall that is one of my favorite walls in the house) and he even repaired the masonry afterwards! He literally went to a local shop and picked out the closest looking thing to slump block and made it look as good as new. WE ARE THRILLED! We are so grateful that he was able to fix the leak AND patch the work, all-in-one. The gas company came back out and we passed the test! Hooray for hot showers and clean clothes! Thank you, Jason! We'll absolutely be using him for our future plumbing needs.
