Almond chicken and chicken lo mein

Good hot food! Delicious chicken lo mein and almond chicken! My favorite things to get here! Delicious! I forgot to take pictures before I ate. But containers were over flowing with food!! Egg rolls are also delicious!

Fried dumplings, November 17th (left) vs December 2nd (right). Bring back the good dumplings!

Used to be my favorite Chinese place in Evans. The biggest draw? Their amazing dumplings. Delicious dough wrapped around a generous helping of delicious meats. Easily the best dumplings in the area. However, something changed over the last few weeks, and their quality took a severe nose-dive. Not only have the dumplings turned into something reminiscent of the cheapest freezer-dumplings at the gas station, but some of their other dishes have been affected as well. Beef & broccoli has turned to overly-sweet grade-zero beef, and the crab rangoon is now roughly 75% wonton dough. The only upside to the recent change is their General Tso's chicken is better. Those dumplings need to go back to their old ways though.

One of the best Chinese places in Evans with the best bean curd I've ever tasted. Highly recommend this place especially if you live in Evans so you don't have to drive so far.

I stayed in my car until order was ready. The dining room is basic and loud but I could see people were receiving good care. They boast a high 100 health score and it was very tidy. The food was presented nice for take out but I thought the chicken was tough and the sweet and sour sauce was just not typical. The fried rice was bland. $32 for two dinners. No eggroll or drinks that is additional.

But I found this little spot in a shopping center on the outskirts and they're doing some stuff right. I was drawn in by a wallet-friendly lunch special menu, which yielded a decent variety of vegetable and tofu-based options. My tofu with hot peppers was a very credible Hunan-style dish as the place's name would suggest, with dried hot peppers and a lively black bean sauce. The option for brown or fried rice was no extra charge, or if you did want to pay more you could get lo mein instead. I added a spring roll, which compared to my main dish was a bit overpriced but was tasty and, as with the other dishes around me, nicely plated. Their menu suggests a Malaysian influence as well, and I'd be happy to return for dinner to try something different.

DIM SUM | we stopped through Augusta for lunch on our way to Charleston and stumbled upon Meimei's…read moreDim Sum House, which was a pleasant surprise. It was a cold winter day and I just wanted something comforting for lunch. It was quiet but not empty inside Meimei's and we were quickly seated and placed our order. They had dim sum on the menu so we decided to try the dim sum sampler, which came with two steamed pork dumplings, 2 veg crystal dumplings, 2 siu mai and 1 char siu bao. While it could easily feed one, it was also great for sharing. We also ordered an order of lotus leaf sticky rice, fried pork glutinous dumplings, taro custard pastries and a bowl of hot and sour soup. The dim sum sampler was surprisingly pretty. The color of the veg crystal dumplings was one of the most insta-worthy things I've ever seen! The taste of everything was a-ok. Definitely worth a try, though! We loved the fried poor glutinous dumplings - fried to crispy perfection without being overly greasy. And the taro custard pastries were the perfect not too sweet way to end the meal. I was a little disappointed in the lotus leaf sticky rice. The texture was off and flavor was bland. Next time I'm in stopping through Augusta, I'll definitely be back at Meimei's for dim sum!!

When tasting multiple types of Dim Sum it's mainly the dough wrapped around it feels more overwhelming than the actual meat inside so on average it's about, maybe a 4/10. BUT the most craziest part is their Sizzling Rice soup is probably the one of the few best soups I've had. The broth extremely good being a lot of Sizzling rice soups are very bland this is different. Their desserts are also very good being their Sesame Ball and their Taro Custard is also probably the best and their green tea custard The identify of this place is very wierd because I actually enjoyed more of their soups and other dishes and desserts than their Dim Sum even though it's called the Dim Sum House.
