They were reasonably and friendly and I don't really have any negatives whatsoever. Since that job (which was in September), I've recommended Hector's to two or three different people. If you have any home improvement type stuff to do, as much as Home Depot and Loews get all the press, Hector's is my tip for your best bet.

While we were not able to find those, sadly, the owner (I think) and his employee went out of their way to see how they could help me. I had already checked at Home Depot while buying bird seed, but they had not had it come in for over a year and were not sure when it was coming in. I called Walmart, Loews, and two garden stores in the area too. They did not have any in stock either. On a whim I stopped in here again, asked the employee if they had it, he took me to the aisle and there it was!! I scooped up the two boxes they had. This store looks small from the outside, but it is quite large once inside. It is next to and connected to the Schuele Paint Store, more or else on the corner of Summer and Main. Rather than travel to the suburbs, I will go here first now, they are helpful, pleasant, local and easy to get to.

There are no lines in the small parking lot and it is not super clear where to park. Maybe anywhere is fine? The aisles are very tight and a bit claustrophobic. This isn't a place where you go and wander around to look at everything and find inspiration... it is a place where you need a thing, then you go and buy that thing and go back home to finish the repairs or project. Gardening stuff, plumbing repairs, painting supplies, butane for lighters, autumn mums, if you need it for your home they probably have it tucked away someplace. Prices are reasonable. Plus it's great to have a local place to buy stuff instead of giving money to the big box stores.

I waited till June to reorder when it was on sale again. I joinedAce rewards and got an extra discount. It came to just under $500. I believe the non sale price was $700. I was told it would be in just after 4 July. They took my info and wrote it and the price on a piece of paper. My husband went in a couple weeks later and they said next week. I called about a week and a half ago and they said it was in but they couldn't call me because they "lost" the paper with my number on it. When my husband went to pick it up he was told the sale was over and it was now the regular price! I called and said I didn't understand why I didn't get the sale price since it was them and Toro that advertised without enough stock. He call me back and said he's give it to me for $600 something. Still more than $100 more than I was quoted. The lady that was there when I went in remembered me and the situation but referred me to the owner. I didn't buy it and as much as I prefer to support local , which was why I went there in the first place , I will never buy anything more than a can of bug spray from them. I have an ACE near my work. I'm not even sure I will buy a Toro, but, we had luck with an old gas mower but wanted to upgrade to a battery powered one. I don't believe they "lost" the paper, I'm just mad that I didn't screenshot it, but, I doubt it would have mattered.
