From vintage trains and accessories and tools that you need to repair them, to new trains and toys, paint and plays, this store is a throwback to when everyone collected trains. I'm…read morean experienced collector and know how to handle comics so I don't appreciate being told I can't open them to check for condition. Even though he was willing to open them for me, I tend to buy dozens at a time and could potentially be at the register for 30 min while he opens them for me. I'm not looking for perfect customer service but there's a way to talk to people. He wasn't rude but had the personality of a rock. I'm in my 50's and don't appreciate being treated like a child. Put up signage if you don't want people to open the books. And how about a break it or buy it policy? Even though I handle the books better than most store owners, if I damage the book while examining it, I'll pay for it. You already got cameras on me so what's the problem. I won't be back. (Replying to the owner's reply: A better response would have been, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience and misunderstanding. I'll take your thoughts into consideration and strive to create a better experience for my customers. I filed a claim with UPS who did an investigation but failed to retrieve my item. After also contacting Lombard Hobbies, they replaced my purchased item at no cost. Their handling of this matter is greatly appreciated and I definitely will purchase from them again based not only on their quick and fair handling of my situation, but also for their prices which are lower than some of the other online hobby stores.
