Even worse than a long wait -- the place was empty, we were seated immediately, and somehow the food was still terrible. For a restaurant with no crowd, you'd think the food would be fresh. Instead, it tasted like it came straight out of a microwave and a freezer bag. The chicken and ribs were bland, dry, and completely forgettable. The bill? Over $75 for two people for food that felt like fast-food quality. That's absolutely ridiculous. Empty dining room, overpriced food, and zero reason to come back. Ahhhh Tony Roma's. I remember it back in Baltimore ohh so many years ago. Maybe my tastebuds have matured or Tony is racing to the bottom of the food chain or maybe a little of both. Arrived was greeted, seated and after a brief wait watered. A few clues of what to expect was the menu had handwritten prices on some items, the drink menu was water logged and very sticky, also another diner was asking to speak to the manager. Never the signs of a well run establishment. We placed our orders and sat back and waited and waited and waited for our meal. Server apologies for the long wait, but it did finally came. The combo plate had 4 bones of ribs which were not completely sauced and appeared to be ripped by hand??? They also seemed just boiled and sauced. Disappointing. Nashville hot chicken - Crust was soggy and chicken was over cooked. Living in Nashville for many years I've had plenty of hot chicken and this was not good. Presentation nor flavor were even remotely correct. Now the smoked sausage you would think was caviar. I barely got a thumb size piece. Good flavor. Anyway, the fries were perfectly done. The only reason for the second stars is the server seemed to be on the ball and my wife did enjoy the short ribs. The asparagus were grossly overcooked and completely wilted and soggy. Where this place really fails is leadership allows food that is visibly sub par to go out to the floor. Any manager,expo or chef should have taken one look at these 2 plates and said WTF, not on my watch. I never send food back and always tell the server that the food is fine. This is my mistake as this was the worst meal I've have in at least a year. I highly doubt I'd be back and this is my warning to others to stay clear. read more

It was our first visit to the Kimball location and it was disappointing compared to other Tony Roma's locations we have visited. It is a fairly new franchise but there was only four tables occupied. The server appeared rushed. Our food came out disparately and the server dropped the plates on the table. The server placed all four tables together to accommodate her and served all four tables in a rushed manner. My ribs were way overcooked. Two elderly ladies behind us sent their ribs back for the same reason, however, I am not necessarily trusting to send food back. She also topped off my sugar free tea with sweet tea and disappeared for a long time. My wife got shrimp scampi which was very good. The server dropped some utensils and a knife when clearing one table and the knife just missed the lady at another table without an apology or picking it up. The customer (almost victims) picked up the knife and utensils. I truly do not like to give negative reviews but this is deserving and messaging to corporate that they need to pay attention since there are two superb restaurants in the area to include Riverdance. I still tipped the server 20% but it was not a reflection of the service or attitude but more the fact there is probably a family dependent on the income. read more

When my party of 4 arrived, we were told it would be about 15 to 20 mins before we could be seated. 30 mins later we were escorted to our table. I thought the restaurant must be packed so that was why we waited so long....nope. The dining area had at least 8 tables which were empty with 6 of them needing cleanup. The waiter finally arrived and took our drink order. 3 of us ordered beer. The waiter also took our dinner order. 15 mins later we still had no drinks. We did have bread, however. I called the waiter over and asked why we were still waiting. He blamed it on the bartender. I told the waiter to cancel the order and bring us tea. He left and came back a couple of minutes later with two of the beers and informed us he was out of the third beer. My wife then ordered a soda. 3 of us got our meal about 30 mins later and my mother-in-law was informed her meal would be out "in a minute". While we were waiting on the other meal, we observed the tables around us were still not cleaned. 10 minutes later the other meal arrived, but we still had no silverware. I told the waiter the meal looked delicious and I sure would like to eat it. The waiter looked confused until my wife told him we need silverware. He brought some minus one knife. We never did get that knife. Also no napkins and no coleslaw. This was the third time we had been to this restaurant. The first time was a disaster. The second time was pretty good. This time it was a total train wreck. The waiter told us some staff had quit, some had been fired and all were tired. I think the manager needs to be fired. If I could give a lower rating than 1, I would have. I will never go to that restaurant again. Too bad because I like Tony Roma's in other towns. read more

The best advice you'll ever get is to keep driving if you're thinking of stopping here for dinner. I took friends to Tony Roma's Kimball TN location today for a birthday dinner. Without a doubt it was the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. EVER! This visit was so bad it was like being punked by Ashton Kutcher! 1st, we waited 30 min to be seated when it was less than 25% filled. Once we ordered two of us were served our meal and the other person was told it would be a few minutes. We had to ask for cutlery, drink refills, and butter for the bread, and we had to eat before ours got cold, while my other friend waited more than 20 minutes before I finally asked for a manager to explain why my friend was still waiting on her meal. The manager said just shorthanded and blamed everyone and their dog for the missing meal. The 3rd meal finally came after two of us had finished ours. The manager said she would comp my friend with the birthday a piece of cheesecake and take 1/2 off the meal that came late. WHEN THE CHEESECAKE CAME IT WAS FROZEN!!! FROZEN TO THE POINT MY FRIEND COULDN'T GET A FORK IN IT!!!!! read more

I've never had baby back ribs that were only 21/2" long,had to cut it away from the bone with a knife. My wife had the brisket and it was tough as hell. This place is way overpriced for what you get. Also, i really couldn't taste the meat because of all the sauce they smother it with. read more

Don't start off with list of what your out of. When we placed our order working around the shortages. We are informed as our plate hits the table that we are out of 1/4 bbq chicken, but here are three wings with bbq sauce. The quality of the food was poor. Place was empty on a Saturday night. They just opened two weeks ago and there is still some kinks to work out. I ordered a medium rare sizzler ribeye steak. After 35 minutes, it showed up burnt to a crisp and total overcooked. It also came with mashed potatoes and green beans that were room temperature. I sent the steak back and received another one 20 minutes later medium well but eatable . The bartender apologized and that's all. Never saw a manager. I'm not from the area so I probably won't be back. But give them some time and things hopefully will improve. read more

I rarely give low reviews but people need to be warned off of this place. Ok, it's new. So I went back a few weeks later.... It is STILL in need of help This was the first time I have ever had to use a steak knife to cut ribs apart. They were undercooked and tough as get all. Ribs should be moist and tender and fall off the bone. The shredded BBQ pork was dry and tough. The chicken (1/4 chicken) when the menu used to say half a chicken, was pretty good. The side of coleslaw was a SMALL sauce cup on the side. People are nice. Food is not the quality it should be for the price paid. The first night we visited (about two weeks after they opened) they were short staffed and had some kid come out of the kitchen screaming for the entire restaurant to hear that he was 16 years old and was being abused by management. It seems he had put in his hours for the day and did not want to stay over anymore. We were ready to get out of there after that. These days you never know what may happen with a disgruntled worker. The rest of the kitchen staff and wait staff huddled at the kitchen window gossiping about what happened and kinda left the customers wondering what was going on too. Also , some friends visited there the first week they opened, ordered tea then everything they went to order the place was sold out of ... they decided to go to another restaurant but they were not allowed to leave until they paid for their ice tea. We live in small town, we waited 2 years for Tony Romas. We ordered miami shrimp. 8 shrimp with 2 lbs of french fries no bread no tatar or cocktail. They give you so many fries hoping you wont notice they are short on main entree. The shrimp were soggy and small. The taste was flat! Our dinner costs 63 dollars it stunk! We went to Tony Romas today around 3:30 figuring it would not be crowded. Service was horrible more employees than customers and still nobody even glanced at us, when they finally did talk to us it was with one word, rude answers. Finally, the bartender came and took our drink order in our food order food, took forever to get food. It was good but very overpriced. The bartender messed up our check and ran our credit card twice, tried to explain why, basically the two checks added to our total, but why two checks?! a bus boy even knocked the whole blind off the window. The food and service were excellent. The meat was tasty and everyone was very welcoming.

Good thing is The beer was cold. Got a half a rack of ribs and they had no flavor at all. I can say that I have ate there twice now today. First and Last. Skip it! If you're local go to Ramsey's on Thursday/Friday/Saturday and get the ribs at half the price. Not much here read more

2nd visit, after a decent first try. Wanted to get the loaded brisket fries again, because they were so good the first time. They came out looking just like the picture in the menu. Quite good. This time, however, we got what liked like pulled pork on soggy fries instead. Total disappointment. When I asked the server about why they were different, she said this way was normal and the other server should have told us that the brisket was a different type (chopped) at that first visit. Funny thing is that she was our server the first time, too. Also, the pulled brisket, as presented, was scant and very fatty as well. There was nothing about both orders of loaded fries that was described in the menu. This was too expensive as an appetizer ($14.00 x2) to leave feeling scammed. Never saw the manager on duty, don't know where she was. Our server was good. She apologized for the long wait. The combo platter included a very small portion of ribs with a texture that suggested they'd been frozern, reheated, and heavily sauced rather than properly cooked. the smoked sausage was barely larger than my thumb, and the chicken was extremely dry and tough. The fries were okay, just don't expect any seasoning - like salt. Nashville hot chicken? Soggy. The burger tasted like a generic frozen, pre-seasoned patty - the kind you can get cheaper at a chain like Applebee's. Even the safe option - chicken tenders for the kids - were poor quality, with lots of chewy tendons and gristle. We would have had better food and spent less by going to the local KFC.
