They told us about their specials, what was good on the menu and to let us know if they had any questions. They had a wide variety of appetizers, pizzas, calzones, and desserts! We got a cheese and a pepperoni pizzas! Medium crust that was just right. We also got the mozzarella sticks and the fried ravioli. That fried ravioli was probably the best I've ever had! I drive for Uber Eats and was assigned to pick up an order that included a pizza and spaghetti. When I arrived, I was informed that the pizza had not yet been placed in the oven. I was also told that the cooks would not be making the spaghetti. Initially, no explanation was given, but I was later told they simply "didn't feel like making it." The employee working the counter appeared frustrated and was left trying to deal with a situation that was not her fault. When I spoke directly with the cooks to get clarification, they essentially told me to leave. As a delivery driver, I understand that delays and mistakes happen. However, refusing to prepare part of a customer's order because employees don't feel like making it is completely unacceptable. I advised them that I would be reporting the incident to Uber Eats. Management should be aware of how customers, delivery drivers, and front-counter staff are being affected by this type of behavior. this is my first time trying this restaurant moved to the area. Chicken is not fried so the skin is flabby, i got the Parmesan garlic, but it is basically naked wings because all the Parmesan is sitting at the bottom of the container. Refused to make my order AFTER I paid. Refused to give refund. I did NOT get my food and lost my money, see proof below. . Lady working was incredibly rude and yelling at the kitchen. Literally told us to " GO F YOURSELF". She preceded to freak out and yell at me and then kick me out ordering me to leave without food or a refund. This lady should not be working in any customer service job. I was extremely kind and said if they can't make the food or give a refund, then I can just contact them tomorrow and find someone who can help; not a big deal. Afternoon trip for lunch. It is a small, quant, clean local place. I have to say I was quite disappointed because I wanted to order the caprese salad only to told that they have not had that item in years! So I went with antipasto instead. It was a Togo order, So I cannot speak for the ambiance, but they had a small bar where a few were chatting and sipping. I saw folks munching on garlic knots , they are supposedly good, but I will leave that review for others. The salad was very good. Lots of toppings, big enough to split. The pizza had a good flavor. My slice was a little crunchy, but I will say I ordered only a slice from the counter and was reheated. I'm sure a fresh pie would be very tasty. I will say the delivery didn't take too long because next thing you know we had pizza. She had ordered the "Legendary" Tony Pepperoni pizza "16 inches. I will say I didn't know that was a thing. I thought we ordered a regulars pepperoni pizza so when I saw it had 3 different types of pepperoni (including my favorite the spicy little ones that curl up.) The only thing I wasn't a fan of was that I looked more pizza a little more on the over cooked side. Like the cheese completely melted into the pizza but that's just me. I can always just ask for it to be more well done next time. We also did get 2 orders of Garlic Knots which were great. Perfectly soft, buttery ,with the perfect amount of garlic and parmesan. How have I never been here before. I've seen it multiple times- they have an awesome mural on the side of their building and are right off Mayport road. Same Shopping center as Dunkin Donuts. The garlic parmesan wings- so freaking good. Dripping with butter, seasonings and cheese. Perfect amount of crunch. I ordered 5, wish I had gotten 20. Will 100% be back just for these. I have eaten here a few times now - even today a year apart from the last time and Tony Pepperoni didn't let me down! It's usually a battle for me here because I can't decide whether to get two slices or one. Their pizza slices are large can usually satisfy for dinner with a salad. This was my choice today. My pizza slice was the Super. This is a deluxe with pepperoni, sausage, green pepper, onion, black olives, and extra cheese. I could have missed a topping here, but don't hold it against me! The extra cheese covered it up :) I also had their smaller size house salad (which is adequate in size for any customer) with balsamic dressing. I loved that it had cheese and banana peppers on it! The only thing I missed today was that the Duval pizza slices weren't offered, but still overall, I had a happy eating experience. Service and atmosphere at Tony Pepperoni is upbeat! Lively country music fills the seating area and it's a pretty good stream they use here! Not the greatest fan of country music, but I enjoyed the selections today. They have one of the most cheerful servers I've experienced in JAX at Tony Pepperoni. My shame for not getting her name! I'll post it on the rebound review when I go back there. But I'll give her credit, she actively serves the customers, checks up on them regularly, all with a smile that makes your day better! I like Tony Pepperoni! Even like the name so much I avoid just calling it Tony's :) But it's a grade A ma and pa shop that has the appearance of what a classic pizza store should look like - with age and a cash register that goes back to the 1800s! Guy working the front never came back to the table to refill drinks and he was basically solo running the bar counter area and taking everyones orders. Need seriously an assistant as he was obviously trying. As I was trying this place the first time with a Groupon they automatically add a 18% gratuity. Not worth that given no refills etc...
