It seemed like the other guests had a great time though. The salon is in what used to be a house that now only functions as a salon. I will not be going back. I wrote this when I went but apparently forgot to post it. But I had such a horrible experience I feel it is necessary for me to post it now.

I wasn't even going to leave a review because I felt bad for even asking for a refund but Stuart was rude when I was asking if I could get the full amount back and I even apologized and I said it was ok if I couldn't and he said "that was time you took up on her schedule" in a rude tone and I felt patronized so I explained that they messed up my hair and he said "it was messed up before you came in" and hung up on me. I felt so bad asking for a refund instead of letting them fix it in the first place because I didn't want to risk a worse haircut, but after that response I feel like I made the right call and don't want others to make the same mistake. I was so shocked and hurt. I felt so bad for not liking it but I couldn't believe how he made it sound like I inconvenienced my stylist when I have to live with this hair and I cried for over an hour because i felt so ugly. She also clipped me with an electric razor and I included pictures. I won't name the stylist because she probably just isn't used to my hair type but I am name dropping Stuart because he was so mean when I was feeling down.

What a relief and a joy to find Monica at Lubbock Tony and Guy - after a bad haircut from Ultra in Lubbock where my same length all over cut had a 2 inch chunk cut off 6 inches shorter than the rest of my hair at the back (and was corrected as best as possible in New Zealand where my friends said "we wondered about that short chunk but we didn't want to say anything and the hairdresser showed me the back of my hair which I finally saw and was horrified).....I was nervous and dubious about finding a decent hairdresser in Lubbock. They are hard to find. And usually, when you do find them, they inevitably leave and you go through the horrible process of having halfway decent haircuts until if you are lucky you find an artist. Found an artist today at Tony & Guy in Lubbock. Monica gave me a great cut - exactly the short bob that I had envisioned. She listened to me, and as I watched her cut, I was amazed at the techniques she used. The outcome was the best ever (and I am 54 yoa) cut I have ever had. What a relief to go from looking in the mirror and thinking "well, okay, 54, in Lubbock, maybe it's not possible to feel pretty again." to "wow, thank goodness, I look like a pretty 54 year old." I returned to work and every single person I ran into said they loved my haircut (this does not happen every time I get a haircut - infrequently in fact). Before selecting Tony & Guy, I researched. A few great reviews and one really bad one but by a lady griping about the price. I must say, Monica was very very upfront about pricing more than once during my visit and I will be more than happy to pay the price every 8 weeks for this cut and her expertise. The way I have felt looking in the mirror this past year compared to what I feel today - I would pay double. I watched many employees come to work after lunch and based on the impression I got, even if Monica left, I would still go back there rather than try anywhere else. Thank you Monica and Tony & Guy!!! Anesha works wonders Toni & Guy West End is AMAZING!! Anesha is the lady to see. I have been going to see her for almost 2 years, and the difference from before to after is unbelievable! I started to see Anesha because, like most, I went to my friends, family, and even quick walk-in salons, but my hair was dry, brittle, and dull. Now my hair is growing better than ever, it has a great shine, and the color is absolutely perfect!! She has helped me pick out products that would work better with my hair style, and she gives me options on what would be best for every season (ie: summer light color and layers for a beach look, or winter a little darker and a style to amaze). Don't ever come to this salon! I left in tears on two different occasions after not getting what I asked for. First occasion the color was waaay off, I was left in the back too long with bleach, and when it came to the cut the lady had other appointments so it was obvious she was trying to get me out of her chair. Second occasion color is still wrong and and my "blowout" was terrible. Although both stylist were very sympathetic and apologetic, the owner was not sympathetic at all and compared my hair to a martini drink. "You don't get a refund if you drank it all." Are you kidding? This is stuck on my head for MONTHS and you are more concerned about product cost? She didn't apologize only said have a good day on my way out. I was in Lubbock preparing for my father's memorial service and was desperate for a cut and color. I had recently met a Lubbock woman about my age and she had a nice updated hairstyle. She recommended Sarah Perez at Toni & Guy. Sarah was booked (because she is that good!) on the only day that I had available before the service. I am pleased to say that I was able to get in with Monica Villareal. She is excellent!! Thankfully our son is attending TTUHSC so I have been able to keep her as my stylist. Anesha has always done such an amazing job with my hair. She has been coloring my hair for a few years now and always blends the color so well. I have been to other salons for coloring and I walk out so unhappy. She always makes sure I am happy with her work, and she has yet to fail me! She will also make recommendations as far as different treatments or products that would help my hair, but does not try to force them in me whatsoever. I also like the salon as a whole as well because it is extremely clean and other stylists have asked me if I need anything while I am waiting for my color or treatments to set. Logan Jaquez helped me get through the Awkward stage of growing my hair out. I never had attempted to grow my hair longer, but was well aware of the dreaded awkward stage that comes a few months into the growth process. Logan helped me get through this stage my giving me a awesome trim in the back and sides of my hair this was to allow the hair on top to catch up and let it all grow evenly. I have been getting my hair cut and highlighted with Anesha Lopez for two years. How can I describe how good I feel and look working with Ms Lopez? She is so very professional. She will consult with me before starting. She respects my time and works effectively and efficiently. All the while focusing just on me. I came to Toni and guy with my hair being black and wanting my outcome to be brown and blonde. I was seeing Mrs. Anesha through this whole process by bleaching/stripping out the black, putting my original brown color, and finally getting to my highlights in the process of being done with time of letting my hair get healthy in between each appointment. Finally decided to chop all of my hair off, and Toni & Guy was absolutely the right place to go. Sara was wonderful and helped me pick a cut that would be good for my work and personal preference. She was great to talk to, and I wish I wasn't moving away so I could go back to her all the time. If you're looking for a fashion forward modern salon, Toni&Guy is the go-to salon for that. The stylists are constantly keeping up with the latest trends and styles. They can do it all! Makeup, updos, blow outs, curls, etc.. Brianna is my stylist and i never leave without being 100% satisfied. I've been to many salons for a balayage, all of them told me what they wanted to do to my hair and not taking any consideration to what I wanted it to be. I always Thought I would have to go dark brown to cover my grey hairs and I was so happy when she gave me different options so I didn't have to go so dark.. Went in to get a haircut and accidentally went to the south plains mall location instead of the one i made the appointment at. I made two appointments for my daughters in April to have their hair blown out, and the…read moreappointments were confirmed. However, when we arrived, I was told that their hair could not be done because they have "thick hair" and that there was not enough time allotted. This was repeated multiple times in front of my girls. My concern is that when booking the appointment, there was nothing that asked about hair thickness or length. The only additional booking question referenced 'extensions', which my daughters do not have. If hair thickness or length affects scheduling, that information should be clearly asked during the booking process or reviewed in advance by the staff. It was extremely frustrating to take the time to make the appointments, get my girls there, and then be turned away at the door. This could and should have been addressed ahead of time by the front desk staff. A simple call before our appointment would have prevented us from wasting our time and energy. What made the situation even more upsetting was the way it was handled. The staff came across as unprofessional, dismissive, and unconcerned. Being told in front of my children that their hair could not be done because it was "too thick" was inappropriate and embarrassing to them. Quite honestly, it gave the impression that the staff simply did not want to do the service and were making excuses. This experience fell far below what I would expect from a business whose primary service is blowouts and hair styling. Better communication, better professionalism, and better customer service are clearly needed at this location. You have clearly lost 3 people that would have considered membership. And I actually went home and did both of their hair in an hour- so being refused to do their hair when that is what they are paid to do is unacceptable.

I guess at some point I made her mad and she told me she was putting a new kind in and put them in with glue. She ruined my hair. It has taken years for my hair to recover . Like 5-7 years. When I called to get them taken out she ghosted me. Not a good person to leave a client like she did.
