I came here just for a bang trim and went to, Sydney! She was amazing, and so kind. I have curly hair so it's very hard to find a curly hair stylist. I'm so glad I found her and know this will be hair person for as long as she's working! read more

Always Amazing! Love Danny - he has magic in his Danny scissor hands. Great service and quality

Professional and great at men's haircuts. My husband had his hair cut and styled three times while we were in Lubbock and they always did a great job. read more

This place is absolutely hit or miss for me. Once, I came home with striped, not highlighted hair. Now, I have a good stylist. However, I cannot continue to afford the exorbitant and often hidden pricing or the time it takes to get this done. Today I went in for a touch up of my roots and highlights with a trim - I had just visited Bijou in mid-September, so I was expecting a shorter time in the salon. I also assumed this would be a much cheaper visit than my last one - the one in September was base color, new highlights and a cut for $260 (pre-gratuity), that took 3 hours to complete. My fee today was $240 for 2 1/2 hours time. I have never, ever paid that much (in Austin or Dallas) for "touch-ups" and a trim. When my hair was rinsed after color she said "I'm just gonna leave this glaze on there....." - wait, what?? Glaze? Did you ASK me if I wanted to spend the extra $25 for a glaze?? No. No you did not. This place is not affordable for me, so I'll have to start looking somewhere else - $300 every 6-8 weeks is not acceptable. read more

Love this place! Friendly people and great value all-around! Would highly recommend to anyone

Sydney saved my life. After a (poorly) don't at home hair cut, she saved it and made me feel beautiful again. She matches her perfect services with even better prices. Thank you Sydney!!! read more

My boyfriend's hair has gotten really long and we decided he was due for a haircut. After looking through Yelp, we decided on Bijou and I made an appointment for 11:00 AM. Due to a traffic issue, we made it in at exactly 11:05 AM. We were told to wait for a little and we took a seat. At 11:30 AM, we asked the receptionist how much longer until we were gonna be seen and was told another 25 minutes EVEN THOUGH we had an appointment at 11:00 AM. DO NOT BOOK HERE PLEASEEE. We literally wasted half an hour just sitting here doing nothing at all. When we told the receptionist we were leaving, she was like well y'all were late. Being five minutes late due to a towing truck blocking the road apparently warrants our appointment to be pushed back by an hour. I repeat, do not go here. It's obviously gone down hill. read more

Bijou Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

Courtenay Carter is the best!!!!! Until yesterday, I hadn't had a haircut in Lubbock that I really loved. I'm SO happy with my cool pixie cut and I'm definitely getting on her dance card for future appointments. read more

I left the Bijou Salon feeling very happy with Courtney's work!!! As soon as I sat down, she did a thorough consultation with me to make sure she fully understood what I wanted with my cut and color. She showed me some color samples, I asked her for recommendations for the balayage, and she worked her magic. I also have curly hair but it's thinning, so finding a stylist who knows just what to do for layering, volume and styling is not easy. Courtney's warmth, confidence, and approachability truly put me at ease. I walked away with exactly the cut and color I wanted. Highly recommend the salon and Courtney in particular! read more

Courtenay Carter at Bijou is simply the best! She's fabulous with colors and just did my first set of extensions and let me say, I'm obsessed! She's not only my favorite stylist but an even better human. Trust me, you want to sit in her chair! read more

Highly recommend Courtenay! I have not colored my hair in years and was searching for the best in Lubbock and was lucky enough to stumble upon Bijou. She did the most beautiful Ombre blonde on my hair. I cannot recommend her enough! read more

My gents, up your game. A haircut is not just a haircut. A lot of magic happens in the details. Clueless about hair? So was I. I crawled in off the street one fateful, windy day to these Titans of Tresses, these Masters of Manes, and they bestowed upon me the best haircut of my life. Before I left, with a look so sharp it could kill (disclaimer: this is not an admission of guilt), they imparted me with the secrets of their mystical ways. I received a cornucopia of techniques, tips, products, and sage life advice that culminated in the power to give myself that unique Bijou fresh look in the confines of my mere mortal abode. Now, once a month I still pilgrimage to that most sacred of salons and seek council (and cut) with these Demigods of Do's, my friends. Be sure and say hi to Danny. You'll know him when you see him. Oh, and treat yourself to a drink next door at Tom's. They start popping jalapeno popcorn around quitting time on Friday's. read more

Had probably my favorite hair cut to date at Bijou today. Courtney did such an amazing job with my hair and was very warm/friendly. The salon itself is very nice. I have never done much with my long hair and wanted to try something new... I am absolutely in love, Courtney is amazing!! read more

Had a great experience here thanks to Sydney :) I had cut my own hair pretty choppy and needed help getting the shag/wolf cut of my dreams. She knew exactly what to do and was very kind and made me feel comfortable giving feedback so that I left with exactly what I had wanted - something that's hard to get with alternative hair styles in Lubbock. Thank y'all, I will be back! :) read more

I have curly hair and the last salon I went to didn't cut enough layers for my hair to look round but I recently went to Bijou to ask to get it fixed and Cory did her thing! The haircut came out very even and more rounded, how I wanted. She also gave me tips on the haircut and how she was going to cut it since it was already short so I thought she was also very knowledgeable. A little pricey but it is worth the haircut you get out of it. Definitely recommend this place :) read more

Jennae Elrod is hands down the best and genuine! *side story* had gotten my hair cut through someone else and it wasn't what I had in mind. She was willing to listen to the details, not to mention her experience was so skillful. She's the best! Everyone needs a Jennae! Great personality; great style. read more

I won't go anywhere else to get my hair done. Kristal Briane has been cutting and coloring my hair for about a year, and not only is she super talented, but also so sweet!! She transformed me into a natural looking blonde and I love it. read more

This is pretty much the coolest salon in town. Back in the day, I made the mistake of becoming good friends with the hairdresser I had since I moved to Lubbock in 2000, and then we had a falling out. I won't bore you with the details. Sadly, I was put in the position of having to find a new hairdresser, which is just... terrible. Then I met Phaedra from Bijou at a going away party for a mutual friend. I went to her for my hair from that point until the time I left town. My mom goes to her, and my sister who lives in Austin has visited her a few times when she comes to visit. Aside from the fact that Phaedra rocks, the salon itself is nice, clean and very cool. They sell Aveda products, which I love, and the whole staff is very nice, friendly, and professional. I would suggest that if you're looking for a salon, don't bother trying any others, cause we all know how it feels to have a bad haircut or color stuck to your head until it grows out. Just visit Bijou. Phaedra and Carrie are great, but you could probably try any of them and be satisfied. Tell them I said hi! read more

I dyed my hair with semi-permanent blue dye in some sort of fugue state and could not get the color out in time for a professional conference I was attending. But Kristal saved the day! She is a color correction magician and managed to get ALL of the blue out while preserving the pretty ombré I had underneath it. AND she didn't even pass judgement on the blue mess I made of my hair. I even got an appointment same day! Bijou saved my life. read more

5 stars all the way! Scot does my hair but I would go to anyone in the salon. All are super professional and Aveda trained.

Came here for the first time today and had a fantastic time. I have super curly hair and really scared to let anyone cute it but Jennae is so sweet and knew what she was doing! I just wanted a trim to clean it up and get the dead ends and she did exactly that! I've never had someone give me exactly what I wanted like she did! Recommend her 10000%! read more

Mary colored and cut my hair. She was awesome!! She took her time to ensure a great color and cut. I definitely recommend Mary. :) The salon staff are nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. I'm very satisfied. read more

This place is great! It's definitely on the pricey side but they do really great work. Nick does an AMAZING job at balayage! He takes his time and makes sure that it's perfect and that you're happy with it! Great conversation too! read more

I've had long hair my whole life, nearly down to my waist. A few days ago I suddenly wanted a change and wanted to chop it off. I went in, not knowing what I wanted at all. I just booked an open slot, and the lady I got was incredible! She asked me all these questions and made suggestions based off my hair type and face shape. She was so attentive and overall just made it an incredible experience. I'm obsessed with my new hair and I will definitely be coming back. I got it washed, cut, and styled for $55. I'd do it again in a heartbeat knowing what a fantastic job they did! read more

I'd like to first highly praise the stylist treating me today; Jennae Brown. Highly recommended to all my friends. I came to this salon needing a place to get my hair cut since I can't be headed back to Dallas anytime soon to do so. The place is very clean and homey. I walked in without expectation and without an appointment; which I highly recommend you do. I had a five minute wait and had the expectation of just getting a haircut and getting fixed up. My stylist was Jennae Brown, WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. She made me feel welcomed, listened to my concerns, and was very therapeutic to talk to. After receiving my haircut I realized she didn't have anyone else booked so I was in a good mood she had already put me in and decided to why not just dye my hair. I never tried it and why not go big. Jennae was terrific and answered all my concerns and questions about the procedure and my haircut and color turned out terrific. I highly recommend anyone coming to make an appointment with Jennae! She also gave me massages! Yes! Massages! Will be for sure coming here for my future haircuts! Haircuts are affordable for what you are receiving. More than satisfied with the results and customer service. read more

I had my hair done for the first time since moving to Lubbock and went to Bijou since it's the only Aveda salon in town. It was a wonderful experience...Jennae did my cut and color, and she was fantastic. She also gives great hand, scalp, and neck massages! Everyone was friendly and seemed to love their job. Definitely my new hair place! read more

I've had my hair done by my hair wizard in Dallas for the past 10 years, but I was having a quarter-century life crisis and decided to get bangs for the first time since pre-K. After some light Insta stalking for her work, I decided to trust Krys with the big chop. She made sure we were on the exact same page before even picking up the scissors, and checked in with me every step of the way. Since I had no idea how much work goes into making bangs not look ridiculous (obviously very prepared), she gave me styling and product tips throughout my cut. I also didn't have anything other than a round brush at home, so Krys just gave me one of her combs so I wouldn't have to go out and buy one. As if all that weren't enough.. she offers free bang trims! AMAZING. It was my first time at an Aveda salon and I don't know what black magic goes into those products, but my hair was the softest/shiniest it's ever been for a good month after my cut; so much so that my friends commented on it. The $50 price tag is way steep for me as a broke student (I usually pay $35 at home), but I think it'd be worth it for major changes or if your hair needs a revamp from damage. The salon reminds me of places I'd find around Austin, and they offer you drinks right when you walk in. Can't recommend Bijou & Krys enough! read more

I love this place! The ambiance and atmosphere is the charming and the staff very nice! Easy to schedule and love the Aveda products. My Stylist is Crystal and she does an amazing job! Location is great. Best place in Lubbock for sure! read more

After a stylist completely ruined my hair I was desperate to find someone in Lubbock who could fix my problem. I was referred to Kristal and she had been working with my hair for years now... not only is she talented at what she does, she also is great at handling my drastic hair changes and personality! read more

I saw Chris, and she did a wonderful job! Only taking away a star because it's so expensive. $150 for an allover-color and cut. I will likely be going back. read more

Originally from Dallas/Austin. I went to several places around Lubbock who completely butchered my hair before going to Bijou, and I am convinced that it is better than any salon in Dallas or Austin (and much less expensive). They're an Aveda concept salon, so they have Aveda products as well as other brands. For example, they're the ONLY salon I've found who will do a Wella "pastel" (lightens the base). The pastel makes all the difference - it brings my super dark roots up to match my blonde so it looks waaay more natural. I've had my hair done by Shelly, Madison, and Danny, and they have all done a superb job with my cut and highlights. I recently moved to Fort Worth, but I still drive back JUST to get my hair done at Bijou. That's how good they are. They close at 1:30 on Saturdays, but Danny stayed and meticulously worked on my hair until 4PM. I couldn't believe that! Highly recommend. read more

I went in to get my hair colored and it turned into a disaster. The salon was so dark that I didn't realize how horrible my hair looked until I got home. My hair was three different colors, the roots on my hair line didn't get colored, I had hot roots, and there was a section of hair that didn't get colored because it was under the towel when the color was applied to my hair. I went elsewhere to have a color correction. I called the owner of Bijou to get my money back but he wouldn't comply because I went somewhere else to get it fixed. I offered to show him the pictures of the bad color job but he didn't want to hear any more of what I had to say after I mentioned that I already had the color corrected. Needless to say, I will not go back to Bijou. I have told everyone about what happened and still have the pictures saved. read more

I had a 3 PM haircut appointment. I showed up at 2:50, checked in, and was asked if I wanted any water, which I declined. And I waited, and waited, and waited. At 3:20 my stylist finally came to get me. There was no explanation or apology given to me for the long wait. The haircut was fine, except she kept asking how "they normally do it"-- I'm trying out a new salon to get a new experience. For the price, I would anticipate someone putting at least a little product on my hair. I was really excited to try this salon, and I like my haircut, but I would not return. read more

The host/receptionist IS the first impression of any business. The person was unwelcoming. She asked for my name and who i had my appointment with and then just said ok. Not once did she say "have a seat it will be X minutes," or something to make me feel comfortable. (The unpleasant encounter continued after the appointment when it came time to pay but I won't even get into that.) Yesenia then came out and that experience alone was a 5 STAR. The only reason I will be returning to this salon is because of Yesenia. I already handed out her cards but made sure to let them know that the front staff might be rude and to just ignore. read more
