I am a very timid hair person, afterall my hair is my glory! I rarely get my hair cut because I have had some really bad experiences you know the kind where you go in with an optimist mindset and tell yourself "it'll be different this time" and try to explain it to a stylist and then anxiously sit through snip after snip only to end in bitter disappointment and try to hold it together long enough to get to your car just to burst into tears and pray it grows back quickly! Yeah that bad and almost after every single cut since the time I was 11 now that's a lot of bad hair cuts I dreaded getting my hair cut almost as much as we all dread that "yearly doctor visit" you know the one I'm talking about! That is until I got my hair cut by Kayla at La Foi salon the first time I was my usual anxious self and I requested a basic trim but "not to short" and only cut my split ends then snip snip as I sat anxiously waiting see if she would follow my request and sure enough she did exactly what I asked and my hair felt lighter, healthier, and I felt renewed it changed my entire experience of going to the salon. I finally understood why most women look forward to a day at the salon. I've had my hair cut by kayla for over a year now and yesterday I was bold and tried a completely different style with a face frame and long layers I haven't had layers since I was 17 when I had my last really terrible hack job so I was anxious to say the least but I trusted her because she has been cutting my hair exactly the way I liked it and it gave me the confidence to try something new and I love it soo much and my husband loved it too! Alright so I just moved here to Lubbock from Albuquerque and was in need of a hair stylist. Even when I lived in Albuquerque I would drive all the way to Las Cruces to get my hair done. I can be pretty picky when it comes to coloring my hair. I've never had to bleach it and I do a red on my hair. Once I moved here I was like okay I can't be driving out of the state all the time just to get my hair done. So I drive around with my mom one day just seeing what salons are out there, I'm pretty good about following my instincts and picking up vibes from places, and then we came across this gem of a place. From the minute I walk in I had a good feeling. I told the owner what I was looking for and she set me up with Holly Hunt for a few days later. I absolutely LOVED it. The whole environment itself is so nice but Holly knows how to make you feel like you're in good hands. She is so friendly and she will sit down with you and go through Pinterest until you can show her exactly what you're wanting to do. She's super patient about everything and very easy and fun to talk to. She's not the type that gets so caught up in conversation that she accidentally gets too scissor crazy lol. I'm going to speak for just one dresser in particular, Morgan, because I'm sure there are other capable dressers there. I did not experience anywhere close to a great haircut experience. Probably, my worst. Bless her heart because this is only her second week there which, I think should be openly communicated before any snipping is done. First of all I had communicated with a picture close to what I wanted done and the result was no where near what the picture looks like. Possibly it was because she has had little experience with Asian hair, but there should not be much difference. I valued and trusted her opinions as a professional stylist and agreed with her suggestions. Totally wrong on my part and I should have come more prepared. ALWAYS be able to communicate exactly what you want; I should have done that. I'm sure Morgan will get better, but as of now, I'm sorry to say she did an absolutely terrible job. The price for the cut would have been decent if done well. EDIT: I was able to get my hair fixed by a more experienced stylist (Holly) and she did WONDERFULLY and knew exactly what to do with my hair. Christy Cisneros is great love what she can do with my hair. I have naturally extremely curly hair, which I have grown to hate. I have had a lot of trouble finding someone that could cut curly hair. I tried Christy on several occasion for just a cut to build my trust and she has always done great. So then I had her do highlights and low lights also a great job. Anyways each time I would go in we would discuss options for my hair and she would keep promising me that she could straighten my hair. Which no one else has been able to do with a straightening iron with out it frizzing when you walk outside. So I let her try and I loved it. So in July she put a permanent straighter on my hair and I have loved it. My curls are gone except for the new growth which I have already scheduled to straighten. I still have to use a flat iron for about 10-15 mins to control new growth and frizz but that is it. Before if I tried to straighten my hair with a flat iron it would take me 1 Hr.The salon is extremely friendly and makes you feel like family. I have also seen Leanne do a lot of hair and she would be my go to if for any reason I could not get in with Christy. My daughter now uses this salon and uses Alexis and she likes her a lot. Came in to get a hair trim because I had a lot of split ends. I'm always scared getting a haircut, especially at a new place, because I have really fine blonde hair, which is very easy to mess up on and any mistakes are very obvious. I asked if anyone was particularly experienced with fine hair, and got matched with Brittney. Appointment was available for exactly when I wanted it. I came in for the appointment and got seated right away. I showed Brittney a few pictures off Pinterest of exactly what I wanted (two inches off including my layers) and she got started right away and was very confident. Got the job done quickly and efficiently and exactly how I wanted it. Price was very fair, they range $35-$45 dollars for the cut, and I tipped as well. Overall, very happy with my experience here. Additionally, the place was decorated a cute rustic way, making it very comfortable. The vibe in the salon was very good, all the hairdressers happily chatting and focusing on their clients (which I find very important because the angry/moody/upset hairdressers I have had in the past always give me terrible haircuts). I love La Foi Salon! The girls and Chey are always sweet and welcoming. My stylist is LeeAnn and I would be lost without her. LeeAnn is the kind of stylist that every girl wants. She is honest, skilled and knowledgeable. She is not only passionate about styling but she takes it serious and spends time researching the newest techniques and styles. Many of times I've brought her pictures or ideas and said "I want this" and she always takes the time to make sure that it will translate right with my particular hair. (I have thick long dark hair) What I love even more is that she explains it to me! I love the fact that she has stopped me from making some terrible hair choices. She explains to me why certain styles wouldn't translate well to my hair and then helps me find something similar that will work well with my hair and she hits the nail on the head every time! I have used her for cuts, colors, styles and extensions and she has never done me wrong! First I have to say I've read other reviews and it can be confusing because there are 2 Christys at this salon. There's Kristi or Kristy (it's spelled both ways on their website) and then there's Christy....I just want to make sure my girl Christy Cisneros gets the proper acknowledgement for this review. She has been the only one I've gone to for years because of her amazing hair coloring/cutting capabilities. I made an awful snap decision because of time restraints to let someone else touch my hair and what a nightmare!! It legitimately turned ORANGE!!! It was so awful I was actually embarrassed to walk in and ask "my absolute fav hair girl" to fix my mess. But she is a miracle worker and not only did she make my hair beautiful again but she made me stop feeling so anxious for even being there with my copper top head. I can't say enough good things about her. We just moved to Lubbock and I was so nervous about looking for a new stylist, especially because I've had SO MANY bad experiences with people who could NOT do blonde right. I spoke with Christy over the phone and told her my fears. She assured me and we booked the appointment. When I showed up - frazzled because it was already a bad day - she calmed me down with her soothing personality. BUT what makes this a great review is the fact that I told her what I wanted and she executed WELL. She did my hair exactly as I hoped for and the price was surprisingly better than I expected, especially because we did all over color. Enjoyed my experience with this salon. To preface; I had been going to my past stylist for 15 years. When she left the city last month, I was saddened to say the least. I struggled to decide which salon and who in a salon to even try. I looked through reviews from all the sites and decided on calling La Foi. The gentlemen who answered the phone was extremely polite and asked questions about my hair and what I type of service I was looking to potentially get. The conversation helped put me at ease about trying the salon. LeeAnn was the stylist I booked with for my appt. She went over the pictures I had brought and helped me make the look I was hoping for work for my hair. She did an amazing job going over each aspect of my color and haircut before she started my service. She gave me exactly what I was looking for and my hair is beautiful. Having dark hair but loving being a blonde is extremely difficult, but my girl at this salon takes the time to listen to my wants and explain how we can accomplish this with the health of my hair as a top priority! I have been to many different salons in town who will agree to whatever you ask but then my hair was so badly damaged it took forever to get it back to looking decent. I love that she takes the time to explain everything to me as well, I would not have understood the reason behind needing multiple sessions until she explained how doing everything at once would damage my hair so badly. The other salons seem to want a quick fix that is cheaper up front but cost the customer in the long run. This was my first time using this place.. I called and made an appointment with Alexis for my bday Oct. 20th... I hadn't had a hair cut in a long time due to nobody being able to cut my hair correctly and the bad service my 11yr. Daughter had at another salon... I went in with an idea of how I wanted my hair to look and came out even better... Alexis was very sweet and treated me very special for my bday..I even made an appointment for my daughter for her bday.. the prices were GREAT! I have a better haircut for the price they charged than I have had paying 65$.. I am able to fix my hair just as good on my own and I find that a very good sign of a good stylist... I've been coming to LeeAnn since before she had her own salon. Now that she does, I am very happy to go to it. Their store is always super clean, the entire staff is knowledgeable, and Chey is always fun to talk to. LeeAnn knows just how I like my hair, she knows my family and asks about them, and will give me honest advice on what is/wouldn't be good. That makes a big difference to me. Pro Cuts would just do whatever and not care whereas LeeAnn will give me her honest advice and tell me, "If you really want this I'lll do it, but I think you'll look better with ___." I moved to Lubbock about 1.5 years ago, and I dreaded the thought of leaving my old hair stylist. When I was out one evening at a local bar, I notice one of the bartenders had well-done highlights and a fabulous cut. I immediately asked her if she got her hair done in Lubbock and if so, who did it. Luckily she did get it done in Lubbock and she told me I had to go to Randi Peacock at La Foi. She was right.....Randi Peacock is AMAZING with color!!! Truly an artist with hair color and scissors as her medium. Not only is she talented, Randi treats her clients like gold! La Foi Salon is amazing! I have never felt more confident both in the abilities of my stylist, but also with my appearance! All of the ladies (and of course Chey!!) at La Foi go out of their way to make you feel welcome! Stevi has been my stylist for a few years now, and I have never been happier with my hair. She goes out of her way to take my wants and ideas and help mold them into something we both feel will work well for me. I've known LeeAnn and a majority of the la Foi girls for about 4 years. LeeAnn has always done my hair and I honestly do not know what I would do without her. She is a true master of her craft always keeping up to date with all trends but more specifically for trends, styling and care for your hair. I have been coming to this salon since I was 19 years old (I am 24 now.) I originally came for cold fusion extensions (which came out amazing) but have since stayed because LeeAnn has always done amazing things with my hair. I have been dark brown, platinum, red and even red and white at the same time. It's always come out perfect and all of the stylists have been great company. It feels like you're with family and good friends when you're here because they remember facts about you and also have a great appointment set up system that sends reminders. I moved to Lubbock about three years ago. It was a struggle to find a salon that I could call home -- but I did. Everyone that works there is phenomenal, but especially Randi. She is a great listener and truly gives you what you ask for. She always makes sure to ask if it's exactly what you wanted when she's done, and I have never had to say, "Well actually..." I called La Foi yesterday, needing a hair cut on short notice. I was told that if I could get there by 4, they could get me in with Morgan. I had read the review about her, and was a little apprehensive. But, I needed a hair cut. My hair is a little difficult anyway, and it's at that "in between" stage. I didn't know what to expect. Morgan did a great job! LeeAnn is my hairstylist, she is great. She always makes me feel like I am in charge. I will ask her opinion and she will be honest with me. I recently cut quite a bit off and she was a little hesitant to give me bangs, so we just cut the length and a few layers, but I went back a couple of weeks later and we did a few bangs, nothing harsh, and more shorter layers, I love it.
