Stopped here as part of a Jackson Heights food crawl where I was trying the three trucks in this area (this is located next to Fuchka House and Fuchka Garden). The doi fuchka was absolutely amazing.

Ordered: Fuchka (~$7): semolina shells, chipped open and filled with savory potato, yellow peas, onion, chili, and cilantro and shavings of hard-boiled egg, with tangy tamarind sauce Aya's take: One of my favorite and most unique bites of 2024! Walking in Jackson Heights (and particularly in this area), there are a lot of fuchka carts and I'm glad we went to Tong. Fuchka is a very popular Bangladeshi street food and I was super excited to give it a try. It's unlike anything I've ever tried. The semolina shells are super delicate yet crisp. They are loaded with ingredients yet don't fall apart somehow. The mix of potato, yellow peas, and onion go so well together and to my surprise, the hard-boiled egg was one of my favorite parts of the entire bite. I liked being able to pour as much of the tangy tamarind sauce as I liked and it really gave it that fresh and aromatic layer of flavor that took it to the next level. Great price and great try!

This humble street cart has a perfect 5 star rating for a reason. Their Bangladeshi street food is so good it's inspired many copycats all around Jackson Heights. I always try to stop here when I'm in the area, though planning ahead is wise, because they will often command lines around the block for these delicious morsels of heaven. I've enjoyed Bangladeshi fuschka from spots around Midwood in Brooklyn, and their Indian equivalent, pani puri, but Tong's holds a place in my heart for making the very best. I recommend getting an order of their Fuschka, a thin, crispy deep fried hollow shell filled with chickpeas, potato, yogurt, tamarind, and spices. I also recommend getting their Doi Chotpoti, which is a slightly sweeter version that has more of a mango-y flavor. I think this is the ideal snack to have on the go between meals that scratches both a savory and sweet itch. Remember to bring cash!

Why was this one of the best things I ate in NYC so far? Maybe it's because I don't have a ton of experience with Fuska but this place was genuinely mind-blowing. Came for dinner and there was already a lot of people crowding around the food cart. I noticed that they are looking to open a store location, which would be very exciting although I hope the prices don't grow. We ordered the Doi Fuska (not entirely sure what's the difference between that and the regular Fuska), and it was amazing! If you're a texture eater, you would absolutely love this as there are so many different textures from the crispy cracker on the outside to the mashed potato texture on the inside. Also, I loved the flavor bomb as both the sweet and the savory come through without feeling too overwhelming as it was "suppressed" by the yogurt. Absolutely love this place and can't wait to try out more of their menus!

This food truck has some of the best food in New York. I have never had Doi Fuchka before, but this is such an amazing dish I didn't know I was missing out on. Doi Fuchka - This had so many flavors, textures, and temperatures. It was so enjoyable to eat. The peas and potato mixture inside the hollow crisp was soft, flavorful, and slightly spicy. The cold creamy yogurt on top was refreshing. Overall, I would highly recommend this place as a must-eat in Jackson Heights. The Doi Fuchka is to die for!!!

It's really fascinating seeing all the fushcka trucks one by one in this corner of jackson heights all with similar offerings. Some have lines some don't, and I havent tried many of them, so keep that in mind as I write my review. We ordered on Doi Fuschka and One with Egg. Personally, I am more familiar with Pani/Dahi Puri, which seem like a comparable alternative to these food trucks. These trucks are cash only, but Tong does a good job at allowing for people to pay with Venmo as well. There is quite a crowd in this area, no tables, but alot of stools (that have weird jurisdiction rules between trucks, kinda confusing, my group of friends was yelled at for sitting at another truck). Food was out within 10 mins, frankly takes a bit of time, but was overall really good for a snack. Its sharable across a group of friends and it quite a vibe. Did not taste much egg in the egg fuschka, and we were given "Pani" in a small bowl, and that is not nearly as much pani required for a true pani puri experience. The doi was sweet, but did taste slightly off putting, compare to dahi puri's I have tasted in the past for some reason. Overall, was not taken away by this food cart, and did not think it stood out compared to the other 5-6 fuschka carts in the same block. Personally, I think if you go next door to get some Pani/Dahi Puri, its a much better experience. I get the hype, but was not taken away. There seem to be better, similar, dishes in the same area in my opinion.

We tried the original fuschka and were happy with it. They were crisp but not greasy and filled with potatoes and chickpeas. The tamarind dipping sauce adds the perfect amount of acidity. Highly recommended.

Very very good Fuska (Pani puri) and jhal muri. I've come here multiple times! The price point is right and with all the hype they get, I appreciate they didn't increase it more (please don't !) . Food: Fuska (Pani puri) $7 -- I've tried both versions: the one with yogurt and the one with tamarind (?) sauce. Overall, I prefer the one with tamarind sauce. However, if it's a hot day, you might enjoy the one with yogurt more as it has a refreshing taste to it. Jhal muri $6 -- you can comfortably share this with two people. I liked how moist it was too. It's not all that spicy imo, but then again I'm Bengali and my spice tolerance is high . Lol Ambience: They provide stools like in Bangladesh, lol. Service: is good. They only accept cash but they do take Zelle (for a fee).

I had long heard of Tong but never had the opportunity to make it out to Jackson Heights so when I finally found the time to visit, I was beyond ecstatic. I found the food truck at around 2pm and luckily made it before the line got exponentially longer from what I'm assuming are tour groups. Note, there are surprisingly a good number of tour guides leading groups to Tong (and some around the corner to Fuchka House as well). I ordered their original Fuchka ($7) which came with 7 crispy puris filled with mashed split yellow peas and potatoes, onions, cilantro, and a generous heaping of grated boiled eggs. The tamarind water was refreshing and tangy and sweet, with just a hint of heat. I can definitely see that the differences between fuchka and their more famous cousin pani puri, the latter of which is often served with a spicy and minty chutney and topped with crispy chickpea noodles. However, both are best eaten immediately served, off the side of the food truck. The fuchka was light and crispy and shattered into a juice bomb in my mouth. I could clean a plate or two of these easily-- they are that delectable. Just a note, make sure to bring change as they do not accept large bills.

My wife introduced me to this place, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. I had never had fuschka before . . . and after having it here, now I want it ALL the time. Like drive 70 miles to New York City all the time. Fuschka is savory, sweet and crunchy all at once. A true Bangladeshi treat. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Tong offers one of the best bites of food anywhere at any level in New York City and if you haven't eaten here at some point, you should make a trip to this humble cart your next dining destination. Tong is brilliant in bringing the cuisine of Bangladesh to the masses in the form of street food that can be consumed quickly without compromising taste and quality. Being Bangladeshi myself, I often prefer eating my mom's cooking over what is offered at most restaurants simply because most Bangladeshi restaurants offer the same menu and the quality is nowhere near what I'm accustomed to eating at home. Tong stands out in that they offer food that is fulfilling and flavorful while being fresh and perfect with each bite when consumed right then and there. Taking visitors on a food tour of Jackson Heights is one of my favorite activities and without fail the fuchka from Tong is usually the highlight of the tour: there is no more perfect bite with a perfect crunchy texture and flavor. It makes me proud as a Bangladeshi-American to see my culture represented so well and it is an honor to share my culture with my friends. Tong is a must when in New York City, highly recommended!

Love this fuska cart. I always come here when I'm on the mood for spicy fuskas on a rainy day or the day before eid. I love the regular ones and also the ones with yogurt on top. If you love spice, the regular ones are amazing. If you want something more mild, get the one with yogurt on it. If you wanna take the yogurt fuskas to go, ask them to put the yogurt on the side so that it doesn't soften the shells so quickly. These are all meant to be eaten right away. I love fuchka. If you don't know what it is it's a street food similar to panipuri in Indian culture. It's a deep fried flat bread that is puffed up and filled with a potato mash, eggs and other spices. When you're about to eat it you pour a spiced tamarind water on top. It's hard to find this but My favorite spot is in jackson heights. Glad to see I could find a place in the Bronx. The tamarind water that comes with the dish could have been more flavorful but the whole dish really satisfied my craving for this dish. read more

So Fuchka delicious! You know someone had to go there. Why not me? Seriously, though... Not much of a street cart girl. Surprising given my general fearlessness when it comes to potential food sanitation issues. I guess you can add that to the list of many reasons why I am a paradox. But I digress. 'Cause for whatever reason, I was drawn to trying this particular food cart. Zero regrets: Anyway, you just know I ordered me some Fuchka. If you're at all familiar with Pani Puri, aka an Indian street snack that consists of hollowed out, crispy, deep-fried puffed dough spheres that are filled with with ingredients like potatoes and chickpeas, and accompanied by a tamarind sauce, then this was pretty darn similar. This iteration was topped with shredded bits of boiled egg, and accompanied by a side of sauce. Having tried another rendition of this at the Queens International Night Market, where the sauce was poured over the puri spheres all at once before serving, ultimately resulting in a soggy mess, I really appreciated the clear forethought that went into doing it this way. Totally enjoyed my Fuchka. And really, who doesn't love a good Fuchka? Sorry, couldn't resist. At any rate, this made for a lovely, very shareable snack, and the friendly guys operating the cart easily joked with hubby, which is always a plus in my book. Pro Tip: Drizzle on sauce only when you're ready to eat each individual puri sphere to avoid a soggy nightmare. You have been warned. read more

i LOVE the fuchka here, im sooo glad they opened up a restaurant in Jamaica which is just as good. The fuchka is made quickly, you literally wait just 1 min max. They serve the chotpoti hot and the fuchka is perfectly crispy. You won't regret going here, go here!! read more

Awesome food cart! I love their fuchka (pani puri). It is freaken delicious. Ask for it spicy you won't regret it. The order does take a bit of time. Every order is made fresh. What a beautiful surprise of authentic Bangladeshi street food Fuchka in NYC. Taste is just not only amazing but authentic and delicious same as Bailey road or Pink city Fuchka. Wish they spread out in Dallas, LA, Houston and many more big Deshi concentrated cities. The fuchka used to be really good, when they just started the business but the last time i ate there, the stuffing was cold and it was mediocre at best. It took them 15 mins to make one plate of fuchka with only one more customer. The three star is for the past experience not recent ones. read more

Excellent!!! The Fuchka was great. Their sauce is on the spicy sour side just the way that I like it. The fuchka tasted very fresh. It was exactly what I was hoping it would taste like. The vendors were very courteous and nice. The Fuchka was made within minutes and it comes with shaving of egg on top. I loved it so much that I gave the jhaal Moori a try. Also, very delicious. The fuchka is on the spicy side of you ask for spicy, which I did. I'll definitely go back!!! I literally ate it right then and there sitting on the stool that they provide in front of the cart in the blistering cold enjoying my own company. By the end of all of it, my fingers were so cold that they were about to fall off, but I'd do it again. It was worth it. Great street food experience!!!! Amazing!! Specially if you're bengali I guarantee you'll love this if you're a fuchka lover. This tastes similar to most of the Dhaka fuchka carts, man this took me back to Dhanmondi's fuchka. BTW, they do not have cha, I haven't tried their chotpoti since I'm not that much of a chotpoti fan, but whoever tried it were blown away by this. I would 100% recommend this! read more

I got the Fuchka and was really good! It was a lot of food for $7 - it was only me and I could only finish half of it! I wish they had a smaller size for one person (or maybe for someone who has a smaller appetite). There are also quite a few of these trucks on the same corner so be sure to make sure you're picking the right one! read more

My boy Greg from Queens took me here one night.. oh my goodness.. I had never even heard of Fuchka before.. but this delicious Bengali treat packed a flavor explosion like nothing I've had in a really long time. If you want something spicy, authentic, and affordable.. this is your street food stop in Queens. Just a few minutes walk from the Roosevelt Ave station. I always make a trip out to Jackson Heights every few weeks to go to Tong and pick up some fushka. It's authentic to how it's made in Bangladesh. You'll want to eat them as soon as you can. Don't leave them in the bag for more than 15 minutes as the outer shell will become soft and it'll be hard to eat after that. Eat them as fresh as you can. The guys that are usually running the cart are friendly. The bearded guy is really nice and I'm always happy to see him there. read more

Indian "chaat" or "pani puri" or specifically Bangladeshi "chotpoti" & fuchka" are sold here. Yes, my friends, the wait for an authentic Bangladeshi street food is over. Delish! Authentic Fuchka is hard to find even in a melting pot such as NYC but this non-presumptuous street cart has done a great job! Went straight back to order 2nd full order. I went late at night after 10pm & yet the food was very fresh. Perk - the staff is very friendly & serves with a warm smile even when it's 40 degrees out unexpectedly. read more
