So, landlocked state, sushi...YES! First off, my service was exceptional- friendly and fast. Brittni was the bomb! Second, offerings were quality, with some unique flair. I can generally tell if I am going to like the sushi based on the miso soup quality (I know that sounds weird)...but this miso soup did not disappoint! Rich in flavor, copious in size and just the right amounts of seaweed and tofu- a 10 on the miso soup! The seaweed salad and garlic edamame are great apps. Very flavorful. I added the octopus to the seaweed salad which was a nice combo! The nigiri was generously sized and fresh flavor and the cherry blossom roll was a great combo with salmon and tuna. Ambiance is casual, but cute for sure in the adorable setting of this old town, downtown Ogden. I will be back!

Very friendly service! We got the oyster shooter, miso soup, sablefish nigiri, black jack roll, escolar-hamachi roll, kamikaze roll, and the smokin hot-machi roll. They were all good, our personal favorites were the black jack and escolar-hamachi rolls! Tona has some unique rolls that I haven't seen before so it was nice to try something different. The prices are a bit high with a lot of rolls being around $20 but I'm glad the less expensive rolls were delicious too.

Pretty yummy with great service and atmosphere and even better food. Not super loud so you can have lots of conversations. There are lots of things not on the menu so be sure to ask your waiting. The best thing I got was the sweat pea roll. Has honey and jalapeños.

Make sure you get the semi private room! You sit on pillows seemingly on the floor but there is a hole cut out on the center for your legs. It's a cool experience. The grinch roll is so innovative and delicious! Service is OUTSTANDING! I believe Kelly was our server and even brought out a complimentary dessert for our graduate. Red devil roll felt like it was missing something to give it that extra kick. Caterpillar roll and chicken teriyaki were solid. Such a cool spot with wonderful staff. Most importantly do not skip the oyster shooters! Insanely good.

Out of all the sushi we've had in Utah, Tona always has the best sashimi and oysters. It's the only sushi my wife looks forward to getting every year on her birthday and always a nice treat to taste that fresh ocean flavor she misses from the Philippines.

Food quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Best of State for a reason! I had the pleasure of trying out Tona for the first time after sampling their delicious flavors at the Best of State party in 2023. It did not disappoint. Our wait was a bit longer than expected since they do not take reservations on Friday and Saturdays, but overall it wasn't too bad. Once we sat down, the service was quick and seamless. We were a group of 6 and ordered 2 appetizers and 7 rolls to share. Everything tasted so good and fresh! Can't wait to go back again!

I don't make it up to Ogden often, but I was lucky enough to get a table here this time. The sushi was great with plenty of flavor. I was most impressed with the Grinch roll, that definitely caught me off guard in the best way. I can definitely see how this restaurant has won so many awards. The restaurant itself is pretty small, and I wish we could have made a reservation or joined a virtual waitlist, but otherwise the decor was nice, our meal came out quickly and the flavors were fresh.

Love this place! Very chill vibes up front, but in the back they have a really cute traditional set up where the tables are on the ground and you have cushions to sit on. The service was really great. Very attentive and nice! Now the food was really good! I loved all the different rolls they offered and the appetizers were fantastic! I will warn you though, it's definitely on the pricier side. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Are reservations not available on Saturday nights? I've looked a month out and never see anything after 1:30. I called but there is no one to answer the phone at the time I called. Thanks

We all greatly enjoyed our meal here. Lots of vegetarian options, and lots of amazing flavors. Note…read morethat the eggs are soaked in the soy sauce after it's used for the beef, so some ovo-vegetarians may want to avoid the eggs. My vegetarian son (12, huge, eats a ton) got the rice bowl and is already begging to go back (we went there last night!) and he finished all of his food before the rest of us were even half way done. The waitress was awesome and recommended he try the kimchi on it next time (also not 100% vegetarian because it has fish, but he's pescatarian, so he's excited to try it next time. Little kids got the half-size (which is also half price!) veggie ramen. One wishes there was more seaweed, but he loved the miso broth an ate a lot of the noodles. My super picky little one had some broth and a bite of noodles, but that's no attestation to the food. His stomach wasn't feeling very good, so he begged to take it home for later. I got the tonkatsu with the miso sauce subbed. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the miso broth was amazingly umami, and the eggs (which I added) were very flavorful. I only wish the eggs had been a softer boil. Usually, I get soft boiled eggs in my ramen, so it was a little odd they were very hard boiled. Still tasty, but missing the texture that brings it to the next level. My husband got the Umami Bomb and also devoured it. He got some of the Carolina Reaper paste to add, and mentioned it was very tasty, but not as spicy as he expected. We shared the honey toast and I am SO GLAD we shared it because it was the perfect amount for 5-6 people! The toast is tangy and not too sweet. It combines its subtle saltiness with the creamy sweetness of the ice cream do a wonderfully harmonious dessert. I highly recommend! It's a cute little restaurant and the ambiance isn't fine dining, but it's cozy and open. I would say jot a fancy date location, but definitely a comfortable space with good lighting and a decently clean bathroom.

One odd thing--they use table clothes but then put paper on top. This felt a bit off for the fancy atmosphere they were trying to create. We had lots of delicious food. Our meal started off with the Daily Bread & Butter and Caesar. Both paired well together. For entrees, I had the Wagyu Zabuton, which was cooked well and was paired with flavorful sides.
