This place is very popular and trendy! I had the pleasure of having an early morning brunch here with a good friend to beat the morning crowd. I ordered the tuna sandwich and a green smoothie. She ordered the green omelette and matcha latte. We sat outside as outdoor seating is all that is available. I had a nice quant early morning breakfast here in London. Service was friendly. There is not a lot of room on the inside but we managed to find a table. The pastries looked delicious even though I didn't buy any. I had turkish eggs. This breakfast item was very different from the usual food I've had for breakfast. Poached eggs served over feta & garlic yogurt with chili butter. Somehow the contrasting tart and tangy flavor of the yogurt worked well with the eggs and chili spice. Not a heavy dish but mature and refreshingly different. I decided to have english breakfast tea afterwards and enjoyed it as well. It was good tea but nothing different from the breakfast tea I drink at home in the states. My sister attempted to order milk or cream for coffee and the waitress just didn't understand what she was asking for and said "no we don't have any". I ate here three mornings while staying in the are and I would not hesitate to come back (obviously) There are only two 2-top tables inside, plus a 4-seat bar and then a COMMUNITY table. I saw as many as 12 people seated around that table at once. The food is THAT GOOD, so embrace meeting new people! Service is excellent. Adele, Chris, Richie and Emile were execellent on the mornings I was there. Note that you might want to get here before 9am if you want a seat and not have to wait outside. There are a number of tables outside, but London weather can be fickle and there was a morning when the tables outside were uninhabitable. My go-to breakfast for three days running was 1) Chai Tea Latte followed by 2) Tom-Tom sandwich (eggs, pimento cheese, avocado on house made focaccia bread. Honestly, the focaccia is so good, you could eat it as toast. 3) I also immensely enjoyed their freshly pressed juice. I like OJ! note, there is no wifi here. read more

Small, cute, authentic, very local... A meeting with a very lovely person brought me to this little gem of a coffee shop... I was early and so sat down at one of the tables and watched the customers go in and out. What I noticed was that the barista(s) actually knew quite a few of the customers, which always earns extra credits from me: "A decaf-skinny-latte for you this morning? And how's your little pooch this morning?" I will have to come back at some point and try their cakes that someone had raved about...can't wait! read more

Oh yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Originally fear enveloped me upon first thought of leaving my precious flat in N1 for the scary world of SW1. Will they like me? What will I wear? And most importantly, where will I get my daily grind? And then I met tomtom. It was a chance meeting in fact -- and turned out to be where I was when I called my new landlord to make an offer. I'd like to say the coffee had no influence in that decision, but that would be a lie. After chatting with the barrista a bit about the 'hood, he informed me that not only is the espresso blend unique to the shop, but that the ethical range of beans are roasted weekly in one of the owner's nearby roasting rooms. Gold star. Doing a bit more, erm, research, I soon learned that the freshly baked range of cakes, buns, cookies, and other deliciousness are all made right there in the shop at various times during the day. (A schedule which I'm sure I will have memorised in no time at all.) Plus they serve a range of adult beveys as well. High five! Tomtom makes me truly look forward to moving to the neighbourhood. And it made coughing up way too much money go down oh so smooth... anything to be living next door to this place, right? read more

Nice little place very conveniently located for Victoria Coach Station and some of the fancy shops in the neighbourhood. They do milkshakes, albeit not ice cream ones (I know that makes me sound like a brat, but bear in mind how important milkshakes are). My friend's coffee and toasted both looked extremely appetizing. Seating is either high stools with no backs, although they were fairly comfortable, or a large communal table. There's also space outdoors. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area. read more

Tomtom is a nice cafe for a hearty brunch and tea, or coffee or hot chocolate (mmm hot chocolate) - whatever your preference! I came here on two occasions while in London because it was a much better choice over Starbucks down the block :) The hot chocolate is simply divine and they do the fancy schmancy designs for your cup as well. My favorite dish was the eggs benedict on toast. Plus one for the huge serving as well. If you come as a regular, they have a little card where you get a stamp for every drink you've ordered and at the tenth order, you get a free cup o' joe! Although there is limited seating, they have an outdoor and indoor area. On a typical cold London day (that's everyday right?) the indoor seating will do you some good. There is one large table that will fit a party of 5 but with much smaller tables for a party of two or one all 'round. On the menu, there is a wine and some beer selection as well so this is not your usual American coffee shop! read more

I brownie induced orgasm is hard to come by, that was until I met Tom, well... Tomtom to be exact. This was an oversight on my part that I didn't see this little homemade square of sexiness when I first walked in. So much so that I wasted valuable stomach space on a cheese sandwich which set me back a fiver! Now this cafe is everything I hate about this area, it's quite small and has a large table with fresh homemade pastries on it but that has a collection of older women, with yappy dogs talking loudly about Rupert and Bunny (their children not their dogs apparently!). You have to pay a huge price for anything you eat or drink and the service is so slow, if it got any slower, I be serving her...or maybe it's that she'd be going backwards?! Anyway... So the coffee is... well awesome. Actually some of the best I have had in a long time. I really didn't know what to expect when walking over to this place. I knew that if the London Yelpers were giving it good reviews it was worth a shot. (or a double) As I entered I heard Coldplay and I thought, ok this is a coffee shop, it works. My double espresso was prepared properly and had good crema. Not sure what coffee they used but I liked it. Next, I went with a filter brew, which they did as pour-over. It was a Sumatra variety and it was pretty tasty. I'm writing this review now on a slight caffeine buzz. Anyhoo, it's a nice little spot and it seems like it gets crowded. The prices seem a bit steep for coffee but the product is worth it. I think my first visit suffered from a bit of hyper-expectation. You see, I thought the experience would blow my mind away because of what I'd heard about it, but when I visited and found my breakfast was overcooked and my coffee, merely satisfying, I was let down. I returned with different expectations, and now I think I truly appreciate Tomtom Coffee House for what it is: a really great, local gem of a cafe. The food that was coming out to other people at the round communal table behind which I sat looked DIVINE. Eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, these are the things I will order in the future. I got a pot of loose-leaf assam tea, which arrived in a clear pot with a piston/press so that I could stop it from brewing when I felt fit to do so. While this pot was upwards to £3.30, it provided no fewer than three cups (more like four), so that's pretty good value for money. And this place is really as cute as can be. Once the road construction in the area is done and the summer arrives, I think it's fair to say that you'll find me at one of the outside tables more often than not. read more

When you call yourself a coffee house, decent coffee to be the minimum, and I don't need much more. What I got was... nowhere near that. I rarely venture to this part of town when I'm in London, but I had to stop by the Norwegian embassy for Reasons, and my favourite haunts all opened much later than I arrived and were half an hour's walk away. So, I Yelped it up to try to find somewhere. Looking at Tomtom, I figured "Coffee House", good... Eggs Benedict looks really nice from the photos too! I wasn't planning on having breakfast there, but maybe I will! Eggs Benedict was NOT in the cards, however, as the price tag on that was £9, which is more than I expect to pay for coffee, a large bowl of soup AND sweets. Maybe I'm spoiled in Edinburgh, but I'm pretty sure Monmouth and the rest in Soho are nowhere near this expensive. I guess when the whole area is pretty barren but full of embassies and the like, and you open fairly early, you can get away with it? The Flat White was £3.20, which is a good 50p too expensive for even a decent one, but with everywhere else a while away and myself tired and hungry for coffee after the bus ride down, I figured I'd go for it. The staff just looked incredibly bored and annoyed, which can't have been helped by the fact that it's almost impossible not to be in their way when you're waiting for service at the bar. I don't mind unfriendly staff if the coffee's good, though... So, the coffee... Uhm. Right. The microfoam was stained dark brown with the crema of the coffee, and it tasted like rust. The coffee itself was grossly overheated (though I can tolerate a somewhat overwarm Flat White as I know how frustrating it is for a coffee shop to keep having people returning the drinks for being "too cold" despite being the exact right temperature for the type of drink) slightly watery and bitter like a soap opera star who's been written out of their show without even a satisfying death scene. In fairness, as I got further down it (it was possible to finish, and I was paying £3.20 for it, after all...) there were hints at some actual, quality coffee beans underlying the experience. It's possible I had a bad coffee, or that the particular barista who served me was the weak link here, but the result was the same. Your mileage may wary, as this is not a case like Starbucks or Costa, where the beans are completely over-roasted to begin with. So, unsatisfied and having resolved to walk over to Notes, I went to pay my £3.20. Except I didn't pay £3.20. They automatically add a 10% service charge. At a café. I suppose it makes sense considering the quality of the service. I certainly wouldn't have left behind a penny extra if I was given the choice. In the end, I paid £3.52 for the privilege, and that's all the money Tomtom "Coffee House" will ever see out of me. read more

I think you'll struggle to find better coffee in London than the stuff you get at this place. I work just around the corner from this little gem and visit on a regular basis. I haven't ate here, but the coffee is simply excellent! Whether you try the array of different filters coffee's (there's one for each day of the week) or the fantastic (indonesian) espresso coffee you are in for a treat. if you're close to Victoria coach station or Sloane Square and parched, then take the short walk to this place. In fatc it's woth travelling to. This place is up there with Monmouth (which people travel far and wide to go to). read more

We came here to just have coffees but extended that to brunch when we noticed we could get breakfast until 3pm. It was another hot day in London. We both ordered the pancakes. They were nice fluffy pancakes, but the accompanying garnish was sparse: I think I counted 4 individual blueberries. I got a black Americano, which was fine. My wife got an iced coffee which she also liked. I notice that there are toasted sandwiches and tartines on the menu. These may be worth a go, but it just wasn't the day for them. There are quite a few tables outside, which are great spots on a sunny day. There is a big round table inside and that was best for us with our pram. We just had to negotiate a big step, but it wasn't too much of an issue. read more

I've driven past here countless times and always thought it would be nice to try, and I finally did! It didn't disappoint. There's some nice outside seating that faces the sun, lovely staff and the pancakes here are just as good as the ones at nearby Baker + Spice but less than half the price! The only bad thing about this place is that if you sit outside you get a lot of tramps from Victoria Coach Station begging for money, but that's not the fault of TomTom Coffee House so I can't hold it against them! read more

Popped by for a cup of cappuccino whilst reading my book on a gorgeous afternoon. The coffee was solid -- just appropriately frothy with a fresh scent. What I most liked about this place was the environment. Artsy and small yet packed with delightful pastries and down-to-earth furniture, I found this place to be a potential favourite of the neighbourhood. I love everything about this coffee house. Of course, the most important factor being the quality and flavor of the coffee. Tomtom really can't be beat in that regard - the lattes are also to die for. Every time I visit London, I make sure to play this quaint little local place ... in the heart of pimlico. The street it's on is also worth exploring, as there are lots of food specialty stores, yummy authentic bakeries and posh boutiques to browse in. A little cobblestone piece of heaven. read more

Was there yesterday and decided to have a nice drink while enjoying the sun. First impression was that they didn't have nearly enough seating space than would be required or expected from a coffee shop in such a location. Seating outside was full and we had to wait around 10 minutes to sit outside as the inside was too hot, lacking air conditioning. The coffee is apparently famous in this place, but we saw a neighbouring table have tea in a Bodum tea pot with a press, and we just couldn't resist having one of these. We picked the Rose tea for two, which cost 4.10, which I think is a very reasonable price, as really I believe such a teapot can easily be shared between four people. We had about 3 cups each before the tea was finished. The rose tea was delicious. You could smell and taste the roses. I had a look at the loose tea in the teapot and could see the rose petals. What a delight! The food menu wasn't very attractive and was quite pricy, so didn't try any of those. We enjoyed the tea, enjoyed the atmosphere, but Tomtom Coffee House isn't perfect. It lacks space and good food! P.S Other people in our group had the coffee and agreed that Monmouth was better. read more

I stumbled across tomtom this afternoon when looking for a more imaginative place for an afternoon meeting than the oh so standard Starbucks on Buckingham Palace Road. Just around the back of Victoria Coach Station, tomtom is a nice looking little coffee house and immediately drew me in. A range of excellent coffees and teas are served by friendly and well trained staff. Of particular note was the nice china and glasses which our beverages were served from. I am a sucker for a tea press. As well as the drinks there are a range of cookies and cakes available, and seating outside and in. Well worth a look if you are falling asleep in the Coach Station (or the office) ! read more

The only reason I'm not giving Tomtom Coffee House 5 stars is because their food selection isn't very broad and they've recently reduced their opening hours so now close at 4 pm on Sundays. But I've been going to this place for almost 3 years and still love it. Their coffee is absolutely amazing -- I used to be a devout Monmouth fan but I think Tomtom may win out. Their coffee is incredibly smooth and their cappuccinos manage to stay frothy until the very last drop (and I'm a slow drinker). If you're lucky enough to get a seat outside in the sunshine, this is a great way to while away a few hours in a relaxed setting with excellent coffee. read more

Nope, we ended up at a little table inside, and there are some counter seats inside too, so this place might not be such a destination in the wintertime. They offer a small but good breakfast menu--we enjoyed our well-prepared eggs benedict and lattes. This is a little gem of a cafe, less than 5 minutes walking from Victoria Station, in the Belgravia neighborhood. I lovely place for resting the feet and getting a snack & great coffee. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Try the soup and the goat cheese and tomato brushcetta. You can't go wrong with this place. read more

Before I 'hear' any protestations that this place doesn't deserve 3 stars, allow me to explain... It isn't about the food. I ordered the eggs Benedict and they were good, quite good. However I also ordered a fresh orange juice and it looked like it was squeezed ages ago because the (small) glass had orange juice on the top half and murky water on the bottom. Anyone who has made oj knows that happens only when the oj has been left sitting in the glass for a while. Furthermore, I arrived on a cold rainy February morning about 7:55 (may have entered the coffee shop at 7:56 or 7:57) and was told to go back outside, they open at 8am. I know the Brits are pedantic but this seems OTT, even for Brit standards. read more

As Laura below mentioned, they bake their own cakes during the day...and they also make great breakfast and lunch stuff...from boiled eggs to fancy French tartines. We where in London for the weekend and this place was at the end of the street where our hotel was. The place looks great, with seats inside and out though it is pretty pokey inside. I wanted to have breakfast there but there was 5 of us and it was a saturday mid morning so no chance,we hung around for a little while, no seats, we walked up and down the street a bit still no seats, never mind. The next day (sunday) at the same time it was a lot quieter with lots of seats, sadly we had planed to go somewhere else for breakfast. I popped in for some ground coffee to take home and also a cup of coffee to drink now, take away. Now asking for this was a little difficult for the man serving to grasp as he spoke very little English, a bit of acting out and going though it 3 times he got it, he was very happy and polite but it was me that felt silly for ask for this in such a theatrical way I felt I was asking to 4 candles. The coffee (to drink now, take away) I wanted was the drip kind, of which he ground a small amount just for this cup, you can't get fresher than that. But he put the coffee in dry not wet filter paper and just quickly poured hot water over it instead of slowly pouring it, like I have seen everyone else do it all right under my nose, leaving most of the coffee around the edge of the filter paper not really being used. That said the drip coffee (Guatemalan) was very nice,great even, I had it black. That and 250g of it ground for a filter was around £6.95. Now a few hours later I was back in the area and this is where it looses another star, around 4pm it was very quite, I asked for small cappuccino with an extra shot and a large latte, both with skimmed milk to take out, I was understood clearly this time by someone else serving. As the woman turned around to make the drinks she poured skimmed milk in to a jug and then poured the milk remaining from an other jug I had just seen her pour full fat whole milk with a blue lid for someone else in with the milk she was going to give me. She turned to face me and was banging the milk jug loudly on the table, she didn't seem happy with the milk but she poured the milk anyway, a little in the cappuccino, filled the latte and then tried to top my cappuccino with the froth but it was just more milk really. Two drinks total £5 (extra shot was 50p) I asked if they where skinny and she said yes, lair. We where in the car driving away when we both drank the drinks only to fine them only luke warm and pretty rubbish. Now this place could be great so I would give it another go if I'm down there, good coffee is hard to come by and that drip coffee I got and the ground stuff for home that I have been drinking all day is and was great. I'm very tempted to give 4 stars but I just can't, to many things went wrong. read more
