Poached eggs, with salmon and avocado
Julia T.

Cute dog friendly cafe with friendly waiters! I ordered the avocado and salmon toast with poached eggs, and it came with perfectly seasoned mashed avocado with pomegranate seeds sprinkled on top. The fried sourdough bread was a massive and perfect portion, and it was a wonderfully hearty well priced meal. I throughly enjoyed every bite!! Would highly recommend this place, I also tried their famous flat white and it was a well done drink. Like a lot of cafes in London, it's a small cozy place so much easier to come here in parties of two.

From my trips to the States, I've come to realise that American Yelpers are very particular about their coffee. Being a non hot drink drinker myself, I've not come to appreciate the subtle variations in beans, tempering, water temperature etc which my friends assure me are essential to producing the perfect brew My visiting Yelp Elite friend Lorrie M from California was a on a tight schedule for her whistlestop 3 day visit to London and after reading good reviews for Flat White's coffee, she had timetabled in breakfast on Sunday We duly arrived promptly at opeing time with a few other customers to be confronted by a shut sign though there were signs of life inside. However, we were duly ignored until another worker turned up and the guy inside unlocked the door "We're opening late today because we have no workers." No apology or approximate opening time given. The tone of voice was definitely not welcoming His colleague rescued one star back on this review by suggesting on the way out that we could follow him to Milk Bar, which was open and run by the same company Flat White? More like flat line on the EEG brain tracing part of that guy's brain dealing with customer service

One of my regular pre-audition haunts in London, with very high quality "New Zealand style" coffee! Admission first, I have not had their more... Meal-type foods. So far, I've stuck to their excellent coffee and the occasional bit of sweet things. The coffee warrants a five star rating, easy! Their flat white is very good (as it should be, all things considered) but what truly stands out is their piccolo/ cortado, which for some reason they call "Bongo" ("just a silly name" was their answer when I asked). It's shorter than a flat white and strikes a great balance between the espresso and the milk. Smooth as silk, it went down a treat! I tried a coconut meringue slice... Thing, and while the taste was nice and not too sickly sweet, it was also quite dry and ultimately kinda boring. The staff are friendly and seem to enjoy their work. Nothing's gone wrong in my visits so I've not had a "chance" to test them during more strained circumstances, so the mark down from a fiver is down to the sweet stuff. Once I try their food, I'll update, and perhaps I'd up this by that final star! Definitely coming back, and I see a lot of Bongos (seriously, why BONGO?! Is it because the little glass with the drink in it looks kinda like a drum?) in my future.

A real antipodean flat white!!! :-)

Being a Kiwi, I couldn't wait to try this antipodean cafe run by New Zealanders AND Australians, neither of whom will agree where the Flat White came from, nor the Pavlova. I was a little disappointed by the coffee. It wasn't exactly like I am used to in New Zealand, and I have been back 5 times to NZ in the past 2 1/2 yrs. It was way better than what McDonalds calls a Flat White in the UK. My local cafe in Los Angeles (The Lyric, in Silver Lake) , makes a Flat White which most times is comparable and sometimes better than what The Flat White serves; very unusual for a US Coffee shop where you don't expect anything too great!! A good Flat White is Espresso blended with textured milk which becomes very velvety and smooth!!

Cappuccino love!

Great little place! I've been doing a tasting selection of flat whites across London, I get to a place bearing the name...and have a cappuccino. The mind works in mysterious ways :P Tasty little cappuccinos with the good old art on top! My mum ordered an iced coffee, and the staff were sweet enough to bring over an extra glass of the leftovers when they made it, all for free :) Mum was very happy, which is good enough for me!

I love the cosy, slightly too crammed 50's espresso vibe of Flat White. Not that any of this is contrived. It just happens to be a very cool little coffee bar in the heart of Soho - it couldn't have a better setting. I managed to find a seat when I came here on a late Sunday morning - two seats actually! Although space is at a premium, and seats fill up quickly, they can also empty quickly, so don't be disheartened if it looks too busy. Just loiter around for a little bit, and chances are you will be rewarded with a seat. I had what looked like the best choice - a cafe latte. Normally when I go to chain coffee shops I dick around with my coffee - skinny/ whipped/ no foam/ with syrup - basically I render it uncoffee like. I won't do anything like that in serious coffee establishments. Full fat, straight up - it's the only way to go. I was not disappointed. It truly is great coffee. Strong, but not bitter, slightly velvety and thick. My only slight complaint was that the lattes come in a small tumbler glass, so 5 sips and they are gone. I ordered a slab of toasted banana bread, which was sweet and tasted reassuringly home made. With that it was one more latte for the road, and after that, my Saturday night hangover was a thing of the past.

Fruit salad with honey, slightly too sweet means you don't get the full flavours. But loving the loose leaf roobos tea

It is hard to find a coffee shop in London that cares about tea as much as it cares about coffee. Flat white manages to. They have a reasonably large range of loose leaf teas for the size of the cafe, and they serve them at the correct temperature, not scalding the leaves with boiling water as so many places do. It is a relatively small cafe, in the usual style, black and white pinboards for the menus, a selection of pastries on wooden boards, all in all perfectly pleasant. If like me you need a cup of tea in the morning I can recommend this place in soho.

I first visited Flat White after it appeared in the life style/current affairs magazine Monocle's ideal high street. Australasia has a discerning coffee culture, and the aim of the Flat White New Zealand owners was to introduce something comparable here. The coffee is Monmouth and so is very good. The name of the shop comes from the name of its preeminent coffee. The flat white is an Australian coffee that is somewhere between a latte and a white filter coffee. It is definitely worth trying especially if you don't want the caffeine of a full filter. The staff are really friendly. The only bad thing about the place is that the shop is very poky and so can be a bit awkward if you stay.

Chorizo Zameramo & Piquillo Sandwich --- it was fine, nothing fantastic. Could have used some more flavor.

Sooo, what are you looking for? This is the question. Are you looking for good coffee/latte's with fancy designs? Then this is the place. A small coffee shops with a couple gourmet-like sandwiches. Again, as an American, this place was expensive. The cappuccino that my friend had was strong. She enjoyed it, but it was basically a shot! (like a shot glass) I ordered the chorizo sandwich, which was just okay. It had some green leafy bit in it - arugula? Anyway, wasn't a big fan of that.... All in all, it was fine. but nothing overly fantastic. I thought it was overpriced. but hey! maybe that's because I'm an American and everything is 50% of in the States!! ;-)

My sister-in-law is an amazing planner, and since we were meeting family in London for a few days, she planned a wonderful tea for us here at Tea and Tattle. This place is an old family bookstore that was then turned into a wonderful spot for afternoon tea {with still carrying on the feel and look of a quaint book shop}. Reservations are required since it is only large enough for two, maybe three seatings at a time. Once your party is seated, you will receive your menu and decide on the Tea menu that you desire {how many Teas, Sandwiches, Cakes and Scones - with a wide variety of each}. Would you prefer a Coffee, a Smoothie or a Salad? No worries, they have those options as well. Be sure to inform your host about any allergies as they can customize your tea settings based on any restrictions. The Hubs and I decided on the Tea For One - This included a pot of Earl Grey {or your tea of choice}, a selection of five Mini Tea Sandwiches which may vary {ours included Cream Cheese, Chive and Cucumber / Mature Cheddar and Chutney / Ham, Rocket and Red Onion Marmalade / Ham with Mayo, Mustard and Tomato / Chicken with Cucumber and Lemon Mayo Chutney}, Scones topped with a Delicious, Mouth-Watering Cream and Strawberry & Raspberry Jams as well as Lemon Cake and Mini Chocolate Eclairs. Each guest will also be served a deliciously tangy glass of lemonade as a final sip for the afternoon. Every single bite and sip of tea was perfectly paired and the experience was a wonderful way to spend our last day in London with the family. I highly recommend this experience if you want to feel a little extra fancy and enjoy a spectacular afternoon tea.

Their servings are HUGE, and are so affordable too! I left wishing my mother and I had the ability to save our leftovers for later, because we hated wasting any of the delicious food that we ordered. Even before we got our food we were pretty excited. When you walk in you're greeted here with a beautiful sight: fresh sandwiches, bread, and pastries, all on display right at their main counter. Once we were seated I noticed little flower pots line the window, too. Fresh food and flowers - what more can you ask from a cafe for a first impression? We also loved the owner and his wife: they were very kind and they constantly kept us up to date on our food order, just to mention what was done and what they still needed to do or cook. They clearly work hard to provide fresh fast meals - and we learned quickly as people came in and out of the place that takeaway is available here. But we wanted to enjoy a sit down meal, and enjoy we did! I started mine with fresh squeezed juice - we're talking so fresh you'll want to add sugar to it if you're used to the juice that comes in stores. And when our English breakfasts came out? Just, wonderful. My mother and I each received SO much food. Both meals came with amazing buttered bread (like, I would have happily eaten an entire plate of bread and only bread), hash browns so fresh that they may as well have given us the original potatoes (yum), and what I can really only describe as a mountain of beans, eggs, and meat (well, on mine anyway - not so much on my mother's vegetarian breakfast order). All of it absolutely delicious, and every single bite made me smile wider and wider. Definitely walk on in if you're near this little shop. Don't be afraid to order one meal and share it if there's only two of you, either - you'll likely both leave well fed, and you can always order a little more food if you want too from that great looking counter of theirs...
