Tommy 's Wok is hard to find but worth the trouble if you feel like spending less than $100 for a meal. After a long walk along Scenic Drive we found Tommy's hidden away in a small alley. The Rainbow Seafood Chowder really hit the spot and warmed us up with jumbo prawns, scallops and real crab. A large order was only $12.75! We also had the garlic sauce scallops for $20.45 tasty but the scallops are bland. Tommy's Wok will be a regular stop along with Bruno's Deli during our vacays in Carmel.

I keep coming back for more!!! I tried new items, and I have fallen in LOVE with their wonton soup. The broth is so rich and full of wontons, meats, and vegetables! I can't wait to eat in person one day, I door dashed my food again, and the food always comes so fresh! I can't imagine how well the service in person is! This is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in this area! I love how the staff always marks off my items, and puts their initials! They really do care!

The broccoli was actually really good! fresh, cooked well, and probably the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the beef was pretty disappointing, It lacked flavor and could be significantly better with more seasoning and tenderness.

Love Tommy's Wok. If you're craving for fast, tasty Chinese in Carmel, look no further. Takeout can be ordered from the back door (enter through the parking lot). The front side that is parallel to mission bistro is meant for folks dining in but I frequently go through there by accident. Adding updated menu photos for everyone!!

We are visiting the area and I n couldn't decide on what to eat. So I came onto Yelp and found this place. This is FRESH Chinese food at a reasonable price! My husband and I arrived about an hour before closing. The spot is small but there was plenty of tables open for us. We ordered veggie egg rolls - they were fresh inside and not soggy. Then we shared an order of broccoli beef and a bowl of rice...again it was fresh and not overly saturated with sauce and sodium. The weather was chilly so we were also served some tea. Appreciate this place and recommend it!

Down one of the corridors, in the back, is Tommy's Wok! Yesssss, real Chinese! This small restaurant packs a good punch. Service was great. We ordered the Sweet n Sour Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Chicken Chow Mein. First, the Chow Mein was wonderfully cooked. Vegetables had a snap, not over seasoned, perfectly cooked noodles. Chicken was juicy and seasoned well. Awesome! The orange chicken and sweet n sour were done perfectly and juicy. Not over sauced with fake dyes! Perfectly breaded! *Better than any in SLO County!*

It's very hard to find an affordable fresh fast meal in Carmel. Tommy's Wok satisfies that and depending how you order, can be a healthy option as well. I had the Snow White chicken and really enjoyed it! It had lots of fresh veggies, perfectly cooked tender chicken and a light flavorful sauce. It can with a cup of hot and sour soup and a large serving of fried rice and chow mein noodles. .

My husband and I were in town for the day and being newly local to Monterey there are so many places we've yet to try. We weren't looking for something high end on this particular day and Tommy's wok was the perfect find. This restaurant was difficult to find, down an alley way and a very small "hole in the wall" style joint. Inside is no frills, just seating with the kitchen off to the side. We were seated promptly and given menus to look over. I ordered the orange chicken combination plate which included a soup, chow main, fried rice, and the orange chicken for $10.95.... What a screaming deal for that amount of food. The food came out quickly and tasted good. The serving size was large and enough for two meals. We needed a to go box and enjoyed our left overs the next day. An 18% gratuity is added to the check for a party of 2 or more which I feel is fair given their low menu prices.

Tommy's Wok is tucked in between two buildings. We arrived right before they opened. We were seated promptly and ordered. The service was fantastic and our waitress was great. The food was also very delicious packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend if you are craving Chinese food. This is your spot!

This a great small family owned Chinese food. Reminds me of the good old days . The price is very reasonable given the Carmel By the sea location. Literally 50% less than any restaurant you can eat in town. The service is quick , friendly and the interior is with no frills .

We went to Tommy's Wok on a Friday night while visiting Carmel. We got the orange chicken, cheese crab puffs, and chicken chow mein. It was the best Chinese food we've ever had! The service was extremely quick even though they were busy; we got the last open table. We will definitely go back next time in Carmel.

Parking can be difficult as they are located in downtown Carmel. Came in a bit early to try to be seated earlier but they were fully booked so we waited for our designated reservation time. They always serve you with complimentary bread service of focaccia in garlic infused olive oil & balsamic vinegar. We had grilled calamari and crispy garlic fries for starters. Our main dishes were Seafood pasta, Gyros Platter, Prawn Pasta, Osso Buco and Steak of the Day - 16 oz sirloin in peppercorn sauce. Dessert was cookie butter banana pie and complimentary baklava. Tree House cafe is a cozy rooftop restaurant with shaded outdoor seating as well as indoor seating located in the heart of Carmel. They're a mixture of Mediterranean, Greek and Thai flavors. The first thing they brought out was bread with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and, no joke, that ended up being my favorite bite of the meal. I was still thinking about the bread while eating everything else, which probably says more than I intended. The clam chowder was good and comforting, but if you've had chowder in Monterey, you know the bar is pretty high. The calamari was the bigger disappointment. It was chewy instead of tender and didn't have that light, crispy crunch that makes calamari worth ordering in the first place. By the time we finished the chowder and calamari we were full, but we still looked through the menu to see if anything tempted us. Honestly, nothing really stood out. The pasta prices felt steep, and there wasn't a dish that made us say, "Okay, we have to come back and try that." The only thing that really took away from the experience was how close the tables were. I could hear the people next to us whispering and accidentally became invested in a conversation I was never invited to. Overall, it's a cute place with great service and a nice ambiance that's worth checking out if you're visiting Carmel. I don't regret going, but I also don't see myself going back. On the bright side, at least the bread gave me something to remember. Someone in that kitchen deserves a raise for that basket alone.

There wasn't a great way to order on-line so decided to drive there and place our order directly and wait. I was surprised at how nice the interior dining room was...definitely should dine-in if possible. It wasn't particularly busy before 5, so waited the 15 minutes for the food to be prepared, and went our way. We ordered three things: Shrimp Fried Rice ($12.95) - it was OK. My wife and her mom liked it. Had decent size pieces of shrimp and wasn't too greasy. Kung Pao Chicken ($14.95) - we all agreed that this was a miss. Even though it didn't mention it as an ingredient for this dish in their menu, the dish was more than half zucchini as an ingredient, and the chicken wasn't plentiful. Wouldn't have ordered this (nobody in our party likes zucchini), if we had known. White Rice ($2.50) - steamed rice is separate.

We ordered a wide variety: pork potstickers, veggie egg rolls, crab rangoons, a small hot and sour soup, General Tso's chicken, orange chicken, chicken fried rice, beef chow mein, and honey wall chicken wings. Overall, the food was good for classic Chinese takeout, though the flavors were on the mild side. We're originally from South Louisiana where food is very well seasoned, so this may come down to personal taste (and California tending to have a lighter seasoning style). Even so, the seasoning could have been a little stronger across the board. Spice-wise, everything was extremely mild--our six-year-old could eat everything easily. Next time, I'd probably skip the hot and sour soup (I've had better elsewhere) and the fried rice. The rice had way too many peas and not enough carrots, and the ratio felt off. That said, this is still the best Chinese food we've had in Monterey by far. It doesn't even compare to the other places we've tried, and we'll definitely be ordering again--just knowing to ask for extra seasoning or spice.
