I am driving home to Oregon from SoCal when my shifter cable breaks and leaves me stranded in Altascadero on a Sunday evening. Lame. Tommy and team leaped into action and began solving my issue with great communication and knowledge. The guys at Tommy's Auto and Performance really saved my bacon and did so as if we were family, couldn't recommend them more. read more

I wasn't sure I could be more impressed with Tommy's. I was wrong. Now there is a spotless and larger garage for services. Great service just got...greater. A friend asked me about a mechanic and I said I wouldn't just trust my car to Tommy's, I'd trust my kids with Tommy's. It's that level of care and service. They need to add a 6th star for Tommy's. read more

Tommy was friendly and knowledgeable. I had an oil change a few days ago and my undercarriage came undone on my Honda Civic. He showed me what happened and how to fix it next time & put on new bolts. I appreciate that he went the extra mile to make sure everything was tightened including the oil filter & didn't charge me for the service nor the labor. What a great honest man! Thanks Tommy. read more

Tommy's Auto and Performance - Auto Repair Near Me - Atascadero, California

Tommy is very knowledgeable and honest, he's not just out to make money off his customers, he truly cares about them as a person not just dollar signs. I do most of my own work on my cars but if I can't fix it Tommy always can and he doesn't charge an arm and a leg, very reasonable rates. read more

Tommy was recommended by my neighbor who had a very good experience with his shop. I needed him to look at my 1971 mercury. The engine was running very rough and hadn't been serviced in a while. Tommy did the work himself. He found the problems and fixed them. I liked that he loved explaining the job to me and wanted my feedback after driving it. The motor hums now. read more

Tommy has been a great help to the extended family and helped with some diagnostics for my car. It's nice having someone in town I feel like I can trust . read more

I love this mechanic! Finally feel like I found someone I can trust. He suggests things but doesn't push, he will take time to answer all your questions, and makes you feel like you have a real relationship with who cares for your car. Such a breath of fresh air after using my impersonal, unfriendly, and super pricey dealership for service the last 10 years. Now I won't go anywhere but Tommy's! Also, the office staff is really sweet and nice. read more

Timely response, quality in checking out vehicle, and reasonably priced. Would definitely go back here again and recommend to anyone!

Tommy and his crew are wonderful. Always honest and reliable. He's the only one I trust in town.

We have taken all of our cars to Tommy. He is so knowledgeable. He's fair, friendly, and honest. He even helped figure out the hydraulics on our our RV. Told my husband how to fix it and saved us money! You always want someone you can trust. And that's Tommy! read more

Can't say enough about this place. Came recommended from another shop. Have been there 3 times so far for various things. Every time has been reliable and honest workmanship. To rave about this place isn't enough. Two of my issues he could have done more work than needed and charged me but diagnosed an easier problem than what I even expected. Did the work. Had me return the parts and save money. If you want to be ripped off go elsewhere. If you want a mechanic for life, with honesty, integrity, and knowledge, come to Tommy's! read more

Recently I was looking into purchasing a vehicle in Atascadero. I live near Chicago and Tommy and Emily were absolutely fantastic with inspecting the vehicle I was interested in. A thorough inspection was done, finding several items that needed immediate attention on the vehicle. If you are looking for an honest mechanic, my experience with tommy may be limited, but through the entire experience, I'd give my recommendation for this garage. read more

I brought a car in that I was wanting to purchase from a private party. The seller said their mechanic checked everything out. I brought it to Tommy's for a second opinion. He found some issues and I am so grateful for his attention to detail. Needless to say, I did not purchase the vehicle and Tommy saved me from making a bad...a very expensive mistake. I have since brought all my vehicles to him and will continue to do so from now on. Thanks Tommy! read more

My car started acting weird all of a sudden, and Tommy was able to help me out ASAP. Emily in the office is the nicest human ever. She even had some kid toys for my kids to play with since I had to bring my two young toddlers to the shop with me. Tommy was super helpful and knowledgeable, and was able to help me understand the problem (even though I know very little about cars). I love that this is a family-owned shop, and they know the importance of safety and durability. Integrity is a value I look for with whoever I give my business to, and it was obvious from the start that Tommy's got integrity and won't charge you or suggest repairs on your car that aren't necessary. Tommy's Auto will definitely be my go to shop for my car needs, and the shop I recommend to my friends and family. read more

words of gratitude to express of how I was treated with this business! I have never been able to trust a Repair shop but I feel at ease now knowing I have one to trust in. Tommy went beyond expectations for me and got me on the road. He was thoughtful, considerate to my situation seeing as how I know nothing about cars. He was straightforward and honest and didn't try to pinch my every last penny . My car needed a new alternator and Tommy diagnosed it in about 5 mins . He then was able to replace the alternator that same day! He really went above and beyond to fix my car. I will continue to go back for any future issues I may have with my vehicle. Thank you for your superb service.! read more

Tommy did exquisite work on my vehicle. My truck starting smoking one day when I was out running errands. I gave Tommy a call and he advised me to bring it over to his shop right away. Upon arriving at his shop, he quickly located the problem and advised me of the steps I needed to take. After deciding to get the work done, Tommy quickly ordered the parts and had me back on the road in no time. Tommy is very meticulous when working on vehicles and will go the extra mile to ensure everything is done correctly on every vehicle. I'll recommend Tommy to all my friends and family. read more
