Fair prices and great service. I'll be back for future tune ups. I would recommend for a local bike shop.

I moved to the neighborhood a few months ago, in the middle of a polar vortex. When the snow finally melted, I was pleased to discover that a bike shop was a few blocks away. I stopped in while on a walk, and met Tommy. We chatted, and I said I would bring my bike in soon for a tune-up. When I returned a few days later, Tommy remembered my name, and told me the bike would be ready within a few days. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call the next day telling me that my bike was ready. I was short a few dollars (there was a flat they repaired, so the cost was a little more that the basic tune-up). Tommy let me take the bike, and said I could stop by whenever it was convenient to settle up. I was very pleased with the tune-up, and the genuine interest that Tommy, and his assistant, showed. They were both very personable, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Not to mention, trusting. Highly recommend Tommy T's! read more

These guys are great! Honest and attentive. I brought some really old bikes in hoping to just tune them up but these guys explained some of the issues they had without trying to swindle me. I don't know anything about bikes so that would have been easy. It's a great family run establishment with fast service. read more

Great bike shop. The owner is super friendly and repaired my bike in about 15 minutes. Really friendly and fast. Highly recommended.

If I were in the market for a bike I'd buy it here. Or at least learn about bikes that an out-of-shape mid-50s hacker like me ought to consider. I was in the neighborhood, doing errands, on my bike, and asked where I could find a shop for a lock and a water bottle. The nice guy at Linhoff Photo directed my to the nice guy--who happened to be the owner and namesake--at TommyT. He may be over fifty, but he's neither out of shape nor a hack. I told him what I needed, and like an old-fashioned grocer he disappeared into the back room to get the items. I mean, how many different brands and styles of water bottles and locks does one need to have on hand? The bulk of the store is taken up by bikes, and a dozen or so square feet of tidy repair shop space. Like it should be, right? read more

Tommy T Cyclery is a neighborhood gem! I had two bikes serviced recently and had a wonderful experience. I am not a bike expert so I appreciated Tom's feedback about my bikes and recommendations for service. He completed the service in a reasonable amount of time and even delivered the bikes to me even though this wasn't expected. He seems committed to the bike community and also happy to do business with those of us that don't know much about biking. I am so grateful for Tom and will definitely return. read more

tommy's new in the hood and while he's not stocking parts and such in quantity yet he's starting to put together a line of bikes to sell. if you're in a rush for a part, he's probably not the place to go to for a little while yet. but if you can wait a day or so, he'll order up the parts and have them to you post haste. he has QPB and given that they're local, you're going to get your parts pretty damn quick. the neighborhood's been in desperate need of a good bike shop for a while now and tommy appears to be taking a grass roots approach to building up the business. he's really friendly and there's always someone from the neighborhood in the shop. i've been very happy with all of the purchases to date and they did a great job with the spring tune up for my wife's bike this year. read more

I walked in and said "I have a budget of $500 for a new commuter single-speed." Tommy said "I have the perfect bike for you and it's $100 less than that." He was right, it was perfect for me and he saved me $100. That speaks volumes to his integrity and bike knowledge. There was no pressure, just a helpful attitude and desire to make the customer happy. If I could give 6-stars I would. read more

Tommy was so great to work with. He fixed my bike for less then $20! He seemed like an honest guy and business man. It is nice to know that he's around in the neighborhood. I recommend him! read more

Really good service when I've had bike repairs as well as purchases (helmets, add-ons). Not a large shop but good range of options for what I was looking for. Good rates on repairs and finished on time as promised. Glad they're here in the neighborhood!! read more

I live in the neighborhood and have taken many of my friends to get their bikes fixed here. Tommy is an honest guy and does good work. So far I have been very happy to have this bike shop so close. read more

Wow! Tommy and his staff are great! My daughter and I were shopping for a bike for her and stopped in a few shops to get some information. No one came close to the service we got here. Tommy was very helpful, "...even if you decide to buy elsewhere, lets be sure you are shopping for the right size and talk about some other things to look for... ". No pressure - just extremely helpful and personable. We will be back for tune ups on our other bikes and will buy from Tommy going forward! read more

I've been to Tommy T's twice and each time I was treated like it meant something to them! Luckily, I live within a couple of miles of them, but their kindness would get me to travel many times farther than that to give them my business! Btw...I'm on my way there now with another blown tire:) read more

Had some issues with a $120 tune up I received in July-THEY FORGOT TO DO IT! They did manage to clean the bike...sort of. What dirt they removed was redeposited onto my brand new handlebar tape. Tommy never offered to complete the tune up and charged me double price for a PC951 chain. Went to Lowertown Bike Shop a month later and got a top to bottom tune up for only $63! My advice, peddle down the block to a better bike shop. read more

I had a very bad experience at Tommy T's today. I never write reviews but I thought I needed to write this one. I am sick of bike shops treating people like crap. I have ridden mountain bikes for many years and I know bikes. I went to the shop to see what they had for my sons next bike. The guy working there basically ignored me, never really making eye contact with me. He kept working away on whatever bike he had in front of him. I spoke up and told him what I was looking for only to be told about a bike that was nothing like what I had just described. He then wanted to sell me a bike "he had just built" from the 1990s with V brakes for $900. Take your money elsewhere. I went to another bike shop named Browns bicycles in Richfield, MN and received the exact opposite experience. The owner stopped what he was doing and just talked to me like a normal person. He didn't have what I was looking for but was very informative on what and when he would have it. I have his card and I will be buying a bike from him soon. read more

I had a really horrible experience here. Was told it would take 4 days to replace a part on my bike. They contacted me a week later saying it was done. When I went in they had mixed up the bikes and had not actually fixed mine, yet. I was then told they would fix it immediately and that it would be done in 45 minutes. 24 hours later they still hadn't fixed it. In the end I paid and was barely given an apology. Instead I was actually treated rudely! I won't be going back. read more

This place needs to go bye bye, I am all about neighborhood business and paying a bit more to support the small guy but this place is taking it too far. On top of being a negative experience just talking to the "Tommy t" character it's over priced, takes forever to get anything done and at the end of the day it's not even done well. I have had this experience a few times there as well as people I know. I wish more people were sharing these reviews bc we need to have a great bike shop in our neighborhood. The one star, is for hiring better mechanics in the summer and doing community kid bike rides. read more

Tommy and his team are awesome. I have used them several times over the past year, a couple times with tricky problems, and there is nothing they can't fix. Their prices are extremely competitive. read more

I love this neighborhood's bike shop! I drive by the place all the time, and seems to always have people around. Whenever I've needed anything, Tommy has come through and usually at more reasonable prices. There is a bit of a backlog for tuneups in the spring, I learned this year, so make your plans early! Nice guy, too. read more

I was in there the other day 12-7-11 he has built up the shop real nice! also he can get probably any part next day since he basicly lives next door to QBP.know him when he worked at another shop great prices on bikes and labor for sure! has a great frame hanging from the ceilng that I'm eyeing up need to support our local Independent shops nobody cares like a small buissness owner!!!!!!!!!!!!!Eddy from Edina. read more

Wow- I just experienced the worst customer service in my life here moments ago. I walked in excited to buy a bike. I said hello to the guy working there, (he didn't turn around.) I said I'm interested in a bike. He said, what are you looking for? Me: I don't know, something to get around town. (Note, the guy still didn't turn around to face me & continued to work on his bike tune-up.) After a loooonng pause maybe 5 minutes where I kind of looked around the shop, I asked, do you have any suggestions? Response- I'm not a salesperson and I don't have time to show you all the bikes in the shop, I barely have time to do what I'm doing now. Tommy T will probably be back soon and he could maybe help you. So.... Wow.... Super bummed. I went in excited to help support a local business, took time away from my work to go to the store after checking it out online last night, excited to get a bike and by the way, I was eyeing the $1400 Pashley bikes, and well, I guess another shop will get my business. Again, total bummer because I loved the idea of getting a bike from a business in my hood. read more

I recently went to this shop as I was looking for some bull horn handle bars. This was a Sunday the shop was open. I found what would work on the particular bike that I was riding and asked for a price. This guy charged me 48$ for a 20$/30$ used handle bars. The handle bars I was using really did not ride right with me so he had me over a barrel. Now it was time to replace after I purchased. I tried to do the job myself but my front brake was not fitting on the new bar. He became very agitated and claimed he was not even supposed to be open today but would not mind ripping me off on some used handle bars. By this point I was furious and decided to leave. Went to freewheel on the greenway and they were able to help me get back on the rode with minimal damage. Oh and another thing we did try to purchase bikes from this clown in the past and when he fitted me and my wife he clearly just wanted to unload his bike stock. He had me on a bike that clearly was to small and tried sell it at an inflated price. So when we came back (for the handle bars) he made a rude comment to my wife "oh I see you brought in a paying customer like you said you would". I really should have just left right then and there. I will never go to this bike shop again. By the way this was all Tommy T the owner of this pathetic bike shop. read more
