Great store w a large variety of stuff for my dogs needs. My dog loves the blueberry treats. I hope you bring those back and stock up.

This place is filled with lots of good treats and specialty foods for your pet! I drive across town just to get the bones here for my dog! The dog food and pet beds can be a little costlier than other places.. but then again.. if your searching for that certain pet food they are sure to have it! AND those dog beds look comfy enough for an adult-:)!!! To start with, GPS couldn't find them. I called several times trying to get directions and I was told "it's near HEB" before she hung up. It took several calls to get help. They had a dog food my regular place was out of so I was willing to put up with this. Here's what ticked me off. Their "regular price" is $10 more per 6 lb bag than what I usually pay elsewhere. It's raw frozen food, so it's pricey to begin with. Then they say if you pay $7.50 for their store card, you save 10%. I pay 35 a bag elsewhere. They charge 45. If I buy the store card, I "only" pay $5 more per bag than the other store. WTH! WITH the savings card, I ended up paying 20 more for 4 bags of the food. It's expensive and they must think we are stupid to fall for the savings card nonsense. I didn't like their attitude on the phone or in the store. Sheesh. read more

Great pet store! They have all assortments of food for your pets (dogs, cats, birds, critters) as well as toys, leashes, snacks etc. I have actually bought some of the better toys for my cat here. For dogs they have pool toys as well as extra tough chew toys (my parents dog loves these since they last a lot longer than other toys). The workers are always friendly and helpful. Every time I have been there is an option to donate a bag of pet food to a shelter and the store will match that donation. I think this is wonderful! They also usually have a kitty onsite waiting to be adopted from a local shelter. Oh it's so enticing every time to adopt them. This is a great place to go for your pet needs (although they do not sell Science Diet food). read more

Recently I was very upset about having my dogs teeth cleaned as they looked the same after "cleaning". I went in and complained, gave my ph and name. After a few weeks not hearing anything I went to Yelp. Then I got a response and refunded my $175. I will shop there again. They are everything a person could ask for in a business. In retrospect I expected my dogs teeth to be as advertised in the pamphlet from the people who did the cleaning. My suggestion to the store would be to explain that the before and after photos aren't probably going to look like the pamphlet photos. I'll be a very happy return customer for products but not the "teeth cleaning". I can't figure out how to enter a four and a half stars review, so a five star will show!!the minus one half would be for the pamphlet being misleading! read more

We saw this place last week when eating nearby. We had never heard of them but thought we would give them a try. We were greeted immediately open entering the store & asked how they could help us. We told them about some issues our daughter's dog was having. This lady was very knowledgeable about the subject and gave us several options on what we could do. She helped us decide on the best dog food & then did the same thing for the cat. She gave us some suggestions on how we should feed the pets. My wife also feeds 2 stray cats, & she helped with suggestions for them too. Several things determined the 5 stars: 1. They told us that if our pet did not like the food, we could return it 2. Very friendly & knowledgeable staff 3. Family owned out of Austin 4. Pet club - 10% discount on all food, money saving coupons by mail, & occasional loyalty gifts 5. High quality products 6. The last week of the year we stopped in to buy a few items and we're almost badgered about buying more than we needed. The girl helping me and my dog, Delilah was so friendly. I didn't catch her name, but on the receipt it says "ABW" as the associates name. So thanks for helping us! We came in looking for a life jacket and she helped us finding the right fit for Delilah. They have great dog brand food choices! Next time my girl is out of her kibble, we will be here looking for a good quality brand for her. They have very cute dog collar and leashes also. My favvvvvvorite place to shop for my fur baby. The staff is so friendly and well versed on all their inventory- and believe me, it's a lot of stuff! I could spend hours in the aisles. I never leave without their chewy sticks (dog bones) and a toy or two for my border collie. She is a very picky eater and she can't get enough! A little far from my residence in San Marcos but thirty minutes is doable considering just how health conscious and quality their products are. Make sure to ask a staff about their limited ingredient kibble options, you won't be disappointed. Only and always the best! read more

I went into Tomlinson's for the first time this morning. Sarah guided me towards Taste of the Wild which is normally the dog food I purchase online. I also asked Sarah to help me with a toy/bone that my bullies wouldn't tear up quickly I'm very worried about bones, as there are health issues with them; she quickly guided me to a bully bone and a West Paw toy we could place the bone into. My bullies who eat everything very quickly have been gnawing on the toy for at least two hours and have gotten nowhere it's amazing thank you so much for the recommendation!!! read more

employees were very nice and helpful, but i found bugs in the treats i got for my dog. i was going to return it and switch it out for a new treat instead, but i couldn't find my receipt, so i just decided to toss the treat. when i went to go throw it away there was larva and bugs everywhere in the bag. if you buy treats i recommend throughly searching to make sure there are no bugs first. read more

My new go-to place! We just moved to new braunfels and I noticed there weren't any organic dog supply shops until I was headed to HEB and drove past this place! Was exactly what I was in search of! Very large, very clean and huge selection. I order my pets prescription food online but, this is my new healthy treats stop! Definitely recommend visiting with your pup! read more

I found this store on accident and am so glad I did. San Antonio desperately needs a Tomlinson's! I wanted a specific cat food brand/flavor and this was the only store within 30 miles that carries it. If you're looking for specialty items/healthy brands, this is the place to go. The store is in a convenient location, the staff is super nice, and they offer a loyalty program. read more

We have 3 dogs, and they all have very different needs. One chews through toys like I have never seen before (he got through an elk antler that was a foot long in 11 days), one has a sensitive stomach, and the other is a old girl who is a picky eater. We have mainly bought chew toys and treats here. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They coordinate with local rescue groups for adoption events, which is really nice. The prices tend to be on the higher side, but it is a local boutique-type pet store and you get what you pay for. Often times they will provide leftover treat samples from the bulk bins in your bag when you check out. The boys love the extra treats :) read more

I'm new on Yelp and this is my first review! I had to do something because this is the best pet store that I have ever been to! I have a son with a mental disability and we go into pet stores frequently because he loves animals. We just recently adopted a puppy and I have never owned a single animal my whole existence of life! (I have done the online pets but I kill them really fast or make them mad or sick :( ) We stopped by because my son saw the pet store sign on our way in from Spring Branch this past weekend. There were two workers working in the main part of the store; a young gentleman with darker hair (reminded me of a country singer because of how serious he looked but I can't remember the name) and a blonde lady that was a little heavy (No offense if you ever read this. You were still beautiful and very sweet!) they had a bunch of people in there, but greeted me politely AND greeted my son. (He walked in a few seconds after I did. Most stores only greet the adults) The lady apologized at one point as we were looking at toys and she was with another person and said she'd be right with me! When she finally got to me she apologized again for us having to "wait" ( we were just looking and in no rush) and asked "What can I do for you?" With a big smile. Before I could start in, my son did. My son loves to ask questions because of his disability and most people find that he can be "obnoxious" and get very annoyed with him. I always feel like a horrible mother when he starts up because I know he doesn't know how to stop. Not once did this girl look annoyed! I wanted to hug her because it takes special people from God to understand those with disabilities!! She showed him lots of toys ( he wanted to take all of them home), showed him some brushes and even gave him a mini lesson on how to properly brush his new dog and mess with his body so he wouldn't fight or struggle as he got older, she called it a puppy massage (my son is giving Baxter one every night before bed!). I got a few questions in and she was very helpful and made me feel confident that I can do this pet thing right. Finally, she explained what a clicker was. At pet-smart they have always just said "if you sign up for the class you'll learn how to use it" but never really explained it. The lady, I think her name was Leena or Leanne or something Lee, explained exactly what it was in terms that my son and I could both understand. Told us how to get started with it, where we could get good information from the Internet, and answered several more questions that my son bombarded her with. She was very knowledgeable because she was a behaviorist and a groomer, and not once did I feel belittled for asking stupid questions( I don't have a lot of confidence so I rarely ask questions). (I asked her about nails, feeding, teeth(I didn't know puppies have milk teeth, puppy teeth, and adult teeth), what a crate was for, the difference between leashes and harnesses, and why puppies spasm while sleeping. I even asked when and why they start chewing on things like human hands, and how to stop them) Regretfully, I forgot my wallet so we couldn't get anything that day but we will be back next time we are in New Braunfels. Any store where the employees are that understanding of the disabled and new pet parents who are famous for killing online pets and air plants (I set one on fire once!) is favorited in my book and deserve my business! My son still hasn't stopped talking about and asking when we can go back. He has a huge list of questions to be answered! I wish we lived closer! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! This was my first time coming here and I have to say I love it. They were warm and friendly and they help me with all of my needs. And once I finished with my purchase and told him it was my first time here they went so far as to give me a whole bunch of samples of dog food for my dog to try. The prices were generally lower than what I pay for at Petsmart for the same quality of food. I had so much fun coming here and I can definitely say I will be returning here with my beagle! read more
