Overall the food experience was ok. However, I wasn't a big fan of the nut-grain pancakes. They were too dry and doughy for my taste and did not have any nuts at all. My husband and I both shared the red chilaquiles with chicken which weren't too bad expect for the cringe after taste of the chile which overpowered the plate. We also had a side of the house potatoes which were actually really good. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. HORRIBLE customer service and LONG WAIT. My family has been coming to this place for over 20 years until today. We arrived this morning with a party of 10. They told us it would take 30 mins to get us seated. The restaurant was full. Then more people started arriving with smaller parties and they were getting seated before us. We were waiting at this point for more than 1 hr! They then sat a party of 6 who again, arrived after us. I spoke to the lady at the front and all she said was "sorry we're waiting for a table to be ready". I don't understand how they couldn't add a table to the empty table of 6 to sit us down. My family was so upset at this point that we were ready to leave. I asked to speak to the manager and explained the situation. He listened to me but didn't really care what I had to say, he was so busy helping other clients. All he said was, "I apologize but we don't have a table for 10 people". I also told him my family and I are about to walk out of here and if we do, we are NEVER coming back. He just smiled and said "I apologize". I have never been treated like that in any other restaurant before. It's sad that they lost an entire family of customers who had been going there for years. I was a huge fan of eggs Benedict until I came here and it traumatized me for life. The ham was so disgusting that I couldn't finish my meal. I had heard great things about this place, so today my friend, her daughter and I decided to have breakfast there. We were seated in a tiny table meant for two, my friends daughter couldn't even pull her chair out because there was someone sitting right behind us. We asked if we could move to another table (there were some empty tables) and we were told that it wasn't possible because our party was not big enough. There was a table for 4 available but the lady that was helping us refused to let us move. We went to have breakfast this morning and they said it would be a 15 min wait. Which was accurate, but frustrating when seeing several open tables. We waited 10 min before someone took our drink order. We waited 10 more minutes before the server came to take our food order which isn't too bad. But then we waited 40 min for our breakfast! Okay, so I wanted to try a new breakfast place that I haven't been to before we went here on Saturday, December 14. My review might be misleading because I would give the food 4 stars, it would be five, but my bacon, cheese and avocado omelette was very small. The coffee was very good also. Now, if everything was so freaking good, why am I giving this restaurant only 2 stars? Well, you're in luck, because I have the answer to that. It's the service, or lack of it! When we first got there, the place was pretty empty. We waited to be seated about 10 minutes, with nobody in front of us in line. The lady at the register, I think she was the mother of the owner, seemed to move at a speed that was between "slow go." and "no go". I went to the kitchen to get a "to go" order, and maybe she was cooking it also! because she was taking so long. Finally we got seated, and our waitress did come within two minutes to give us coffee (thank God because I was going through withdrawals!). She came back about five minutes later to take our order. Then the wait begins. It took about 25 minutes for our food to arrive (unacceptable as there were hardly anyone in the restaurant). Like I said, the food was really good, besides the small miniature eggs in my omelette, and my friend had some Mexican dish that I can't pronounce but she said it was delicious. When we finished, our waitress was nowhere to be found to ask for our check. We asked the lady at the front cashier and she told us. "No problem. Give me a minute." Well, let me tell you, that minute turned out to be about 15 minutes before my friend got up and walked over to the kitchen to ask nicely for our check. We finally got it. A couple minutes later. I think the whole staff needs to take some stimulants to wake them up. It's a shame that such a nice-looking restaurant, with good food, has a bunch of sleepwalkers working there! I wanted to comment on the individual who has received negative comments about customer service. After interacting in English and Spanish, I was reminded of those in my prior work who experience processing issues with oral language communication or who do not read affective cues in the same manner as others. So, I adjusted just a little bit and stayed on task (for a change) speaking just a little bit more clearly, and we had a pleasant conversation. Perhaps this person is making sure to get out daily and be active without making excuses - which would be admirable. As for the rating, I enjoy eating breakfast with my buddies one to two times a month rotating among three or more places in the top 10, and the Tomas Cafe matches or exceeds them depending on your food preferences for the day. read more

Good food, service was not the friendliest, we weren't really greeted they just grabbed menus and we followed the waiter to our seat, I didn't see a single smile from any staff member! Had a coupon for $10 off, which we showed the waiter before ordering and he said show it at check out. All the food we had ordered, French toast, Denver omelette, biscuits and gravy, and eggs benedict were ok. Great place with superb service and delicious food. Went here for breakfast on a recommendation from someone. Had to get the homemade cinnamon roll...HUGE and definitely large enough for two (or three) people. After that, I had to back off and just get a standard bacon/eggs/fruit breakfast...but even that was excellent, with eggs perfectly cooked and homemade jam for the toast. This is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast, there is a variety of fresh choices to choose from. I tend to eat clean most of the time and they offer healthier choices on the menu. The orange juice is freshly squeezed when you order ( the only time I ever drink orange juice is when I visit Tomas Cafe) My son loves their pancakes they are super light and fluffy and he often times orders their omelets ( just tell them to go easy on the cheese ) This is a family ran business, service is great. My only complaint would be the older lady that runs the register ( the mom of the owner I believe ) could be more friendly she never smiles and she does not make you feel "invited" but everyone else is very nice, always smiling and very friendly. read more

You would think coffee is coffee anywhere you go except the coffee they serve us smooth and delicious... The cinnamon roll is the best I have ever had!!!!! Ever!!! I had a Groupon for Thomas Cafe and Gallery and struggled to use the whole amount today. Everythings was cheap compared to a lot of breakfest joints. Upon walking in it was very clean and we were greeted and seated within a minute. The menu looked really good hard to decided what to get. I went with the Breakfest Burrito Wet with the Green sauce. It was Heaven in my mouth. The sauce was packed with flavor. It was are to finish it because it was huge but the last bite was as good as the first. My wife Ordered the Pancakes with Blueberries the cooked blue berries in it and put fresh ones on top. I had a coffee that never got cold and was never empty, Over all I had a Great experience and will be returning to Thomas Cafe and Gallery soon.
